Captive Alphas #2

Killer: Sein Omega im Kreuzfeuer

Rate this book

3.8 Stars Brood Mate

As with the first book in this series I initially planned to read it immediately so I purchased it directly from the publisher. Finally I decided it was time I got back to my plan to read this series. What is the purpose of an Omega male? To be a brood mate to a superior dominant Alpha. So what if an Omega doesn't want to be a brood mate? What are his options? Does he even have any options? Well Evan formerly of the White Manes pack is the exception to the rule. Running away is his response to his father's decision to give him to a loathsome pack Alpha.

But Evan ran straight into some gunsights. Captive Alpha Killer is tasked with taking out a very aggressive pack of Wolves that are not heeding warnings from the Humans who Hate Paranormals group. One isolated member in particular the son of an important White Manes pack member. Though the more Killer monitors the young man, something within him begins to change. From an obedient cold-blooded excellent sniper to becoming empathetic to the tears of a sad, lonely kindergarten teacher.

Damon the largest, strongest most "loyal" Captive Alpha makes another appearance. The sensors put in place by the Humans who Hate Paranormals are alerting them that there is a problem with their too sharpshooter. Damon is sent to check on Killer. With surprising results. Evan is shocked the more he learns about the very large buff Wolf shifter that comes to his aid. A fellow shifter with whom he shares a very strong sizzling mutual attraction. Yet both believe neither is good enough for the other. Each has his share of flaws and an imperfect past. But the mate bond draws them together like magnets.

How can Evan risk "his" pack killing his mate? How can Killer risk his handlers turning Evan into a brood mate? Or even worse sending someone else to kill him? Damon can't botch another retrieval. The Captive Alphas are too valuable an asset to kill or allow to be killed. The White Manes are a little too cocky, especially in groups they feel invincible. But to the Captive Alphas they are as bothersome as a bowling pin is to a bowling ball.

I also purchased the third book from Siren / Bookstrand Publishing. I'll begin reading it after the end of Silence of the Lambs 😱.

So...I enjoyed that more than the first book. I can see that I'll be following this series because I have GOT to see how the rest of the Captive Alphas get outta that Hell that they are in. And because of course ..the main one I'm interested in ...his book will probably be the last one! LoL
