The Tower of Alchemy is the first book published in the West to openly reveal the teachings and practice of the Hermetic Art in plain language. In this advanced manual, the alchemical symbols and motifs cease to be a bewildering maze and become helpful signposts on the Path of Liberation. David Goddard clearly explains the interior practices that are the essence of the Great Work itself. By assimilating the knowledge and practicing the exercises contained in this book, you will find that the once-confusing alchemical illustrations are now illuminated mandalas. Using classical Qabalah, and traditions as diverse as the Grail legend, Yoga, and Tibetan Buddhism, Goddard allows students access to the higher Mysteries. His specific teachings and guided practices will enable you to attain the secret to all spiritual works, which can culminate in the completion of the Great Work.
I was not familiar with David Goddard prior to picking up this book at my local Half Price Books. However, it was only $1, being in the clearance section, so I decided to give it a go. I have to believe that it was meant for me at this time, because it goes along with everything that I am heavily entrenched in studying, and, given my very tight budget, I would not have paid much more for it.
This book combines Kabbalistic teaching, Hermetic Magick, Buddhism, Hindu, and Celtic Spirituality in this fabulous book. He is a master at comparative spirituality, and integrating many teachings. I really appreciate that, as I fancy myself quite good at this.
There are exercises at the end of each chapter. They are very intense and effect. From the Qabbalistic Cross to shamanic journeys, Goddard sends the seeker on a positively Magickal experience. I recommend this to anyone that has been working in this capacity for a time. I would not say it is a "beginner's manual" in the least. Very refreshing!
An excellent work on alchemy. The theory, history and approaches to the great work are exceptional. This work is a fine compliment to Regardie's 'the Philosophers Stone' and the combined works make for an excellent resource for the alchemist. The aim is entirely upon 'union' with god and is thus a work of the RHP, yet there are good materials here for the LHP adept to employ and alter the work towards the apotheosisation of the self.
My only dislike was the application of the Arthurian mythos in the alchemical pathworkings. These do little for myself and so I have transposed them into a more resonate form for myself. Otherwise, an exceptional work to be followed.
Un trabajo guiado, trae ejercicios de meditacion que resultan bastante interesantes porque te puedes conectar con arturo y sus caballeros de la mesa redonda
