Playing By Her Rules – Sapna Bhog

The most anticipated book in the Sehgalverse, Rohan, had mesmerised me from Book 3 itself. So when I got to read his tale, I was thrilled.

Rohan, suave, sexy and a loner due to his past, chances upon a meeting with Jiya, a girl he fancies but can’t have, at the London airport. They get chatting, and Rohan, on learning she’s jobless, slyly offers her a job in his company to be close to her and to irk her sister Raashi and Keya, with whom he shares a tumultuous relationship. Jiya, a stunning, impulsive, fearless child-woman is insanely attracted to Rohan and boldly propositions him, which he rudely turns down. Not the one to give up, she finally wears him down, and they get into a relationship with the understanding that they’ll let time take its course. Meanwhile, Rohan finds his birth father’s note and suspects foul play in his company’s finances and tells Jiya to dig out the truth in secrecy. What did they find out? Will their affair have an expiration date? Will her family accept Rohan, who is a total misfit for Jiya?

This story is all about relationships and how they stand by you like a rock, supporting you when you need them the most. Right from Rohan’s vulnerability, his past fears and people anxiety to how he overcomes all that and becomes worthy of Jiya’s love has me swooning. His journey is not easy, considering his scarred childhood, but they say love gives you strength like no other. Jiya is a lioness, fierce and a protector. She’s the most fun and playful of the Sehgalverse lot. From teasing and shocking Rohan to unconditionally loving the mess that he is, prodding him to come out of the rut he's in even when he snubs her, she is one sorted gal.

This book has almost the whole Sehgal clan, and the banter between them is so much fun. I love Janak’s wisdom, Raashi’s protectiveness, Rithwik’s goofiness, Akash’s bond with Jiya, and the stud, Xerxes 🐎. I am floored by Tara and Varun. Their love for their kids is unmatched. Aditya makes a comeback here and how. Am so excited for his story, knowing who he’s paired with. If family and friendships with dollops of humour gets you going, read this now.

The Sehgalverse is one of my most favorite book verses and whenever Sapna's new book releases, I can't decide if I want to read it very quickly to know what's happening, or read it at a very slow pace, enjoy the book and feel each moment.

Playing by her Rules is another such book, where you are constantly smiling all through 😀😀 whether it is Jiya's antics, Rohan's attraction for her red hair tips, talking to Xerxes, their cute encounters, their food fight, the teasing by friends, Rashi's protectiveness, Janak's intervention, Aditya's entry, Akash and Shauna's love angle, Rohan's jealousy.... the list is endless... and this is exactly what makes the book even more exciting. You are constantly anticipating what's gonna happen next, imagining the scenes in front of you, and loving it all.

Sapna's attention to detail is commendable. It ensures that you are fully engrossed in the story, thinking about them all, long after the book is over. The Rohan-Rashi-Keya angle is handled so well here and I totally loved the lion- lioness theory of playing by her rules ❤️❤️ So perfect

Sapna, you make us believe in Hope - in Love - in Fairy Tales and in Happily Ever Afters 🥰 and I want to keep believing in all of these... Forever 😍

So please continue with the Sehgalverse for as long as you can... I want to keep believing that there is always a rainbow after every storm 💖

This princess writes her own fairytale. Jiya Deewan is smart, intelligent, hardworking, outgoing, and dreamy. She believes in fairytales and happy endings, but he doesn't even do relationships. Rohan Bali, the man who holds this princess's heart, should stay away from her for so many reasons, but who can stop the attraction that doesn't seem to simmer between them? Well, fate has a way of bringing people together. Rohan offers Jiya a job in his company. He is her boss now, and she shouldn't fall for him, but she does. When his past shows up on his face, he wants to let her go for her happiness. But this princess fights for what she wants, and now she wants him. Will he succeed in his plan, or will she win him over to his past? But they say those who run away from love fall the hardest.

Jiya and Rohan are such sweethearts. I don't think I would ever get tired of reading their romance. Jiya's character is very bold and outspoken. She stands up and fights for herself. She knows what she wants, and she is going to get it by hook or crook. Her replies have me giggling and leave me amazed. For a moody, grumpy, Rohan, she is a spark in his dull life. In order to be with her, he knows he has to change and face his fears, so he proceeds to do exactly that. There are scenes that involve the other characters from the Sehgal series and it is always an absolute pleasure to read about them. I'm so glad I could get a glimpse of the others.

This book is a cute read. There are scenes in the book where the author incorporates the title, and it feels great to relate. As much as I enjoyed reading this book, I must say that, to an extent, the plot was predictable. Apart from that, loved many scenes and enjoyed reading the book. If you like the age gap, office romance, and grumpy-sunshine tropes, then this one is a must-read.

Definitely worth the wait!!

Sapna's Sehgalverse books are all amazing and they all have a unique story to tell.

This book takes up the character of Rohan who is known to be ever secretive and most reserved person in the world who meets Jiya, the bubbly, wild and impulsive by nature.

They both have their own journeys so far but when their paths cross, will the two opposites attract and give a chance to their sizzling hot chemistry or will it just be a time pass no strings attached for them is a answer you need to read and find out yourself.

P. S. I have always been a fan of Janak and his ways. And this time too, he amused me to the great extent with his match making skills.

Akash is a darling friend that one needs in life. He is super supportive and non judgemental. Gives you great advice and listens patiently, takes stand for you when you need it the most.

The friendship between Raashi and Keya is superb and still intact and it seems they too have matured with experiences and their individual stories.

Overall this book was awesome and totally worth the wait.

A very famous line 'Opposite attracts' and what an apt line for Rohan and Jiya.  Rohan is a calm,  composed, and silent personality whereas Jiya is a rainbow with a loud personality and colorful life. When the contrast is so much visible then attraction is confirmed.  And when you have an elder like Janak,  things become over smooth and friendly.

The Sehgal series is everyone's favorite.  Each story and its characters have made a special place in our fictional world.  Sapna's scripting and characterization always surprise us.

Rohan's story was most awaited as I have always been keen on reading about his journey.  He is the most calm and composed character whose overall personality is messed up due to his traumatic childhood and early years. But as the story grows you will see the real Rohan hidden behind the curtains of fake personality.

A mixture of emotions and riddles of secrets.

The storyline is truly enchanting. It's a remarkable masterpiece, especially the way Jiya and Rohan's narrative unfolds. I became deeply attached to it, finding myself glued to the pages to the extent that I finished the entire book in a single sitting. As the night progressed, I was so engrossed that I didn't even realize when it turned into morning.

After that initial experience, I delved into the broader series, starting with this one. This journey led me to complete the entire Sehgal family series, comprising a total of seven books, all within a month. The captivating narrative and characters kept me hooked throughout.

For those who might not consider themselves avid readers or are contemplating exploring a new genre, I highly recommend giving this series a try. It's an excellent starting point for anyone looking to venture into the world of novels.

Jiya Dewaan is a character who immediately captures attention with her fierce determination and unyielding passion. Her journey to win her love and help Rohan Bali overcome his insecurities shows her fierceness and determination to prove her love. The emotional depth and complexity of their relationship keep the reader thoroughly engaged. Watching Rohan grow and heal, thanks to Jiya's unwavering support, adds to the drama the book potrays. Overall, this book is engaging from start to finish, filled with rich character development and a compelling narrative.

Great story. Waited a long time for this one and it was not at all disappointing. Rohan and Jiya are the darkness and light, the yin and yan for each other and their love story felt like one of a kind with every needed emotions in it. Nice work by Author Sapna Bhog. Waiting for Aditya and Sabrina's story.

Superb book

Sapna has nailed it yet again with this wonderful story of jiya and rohan.

Rohan bali is a brilliant businessman. He is handsome, single, wealthy, belongs to a wonderful  family but...!!!!
Im
Yes it is the but that that captures your heart and mind.(read the book).

jiya deewaan is an independent, confodent, bold , bubbly and a very fun loving girl.
She is very sure pf what she does or has to do. Shes a go getter. By hook or by crook.

What happens wheen these twoindividuals come in contact???
A fire ball and an ice block, a peoples person and a loner.. what has transpired between the two????and how....

So excellently penned , i just couldnt put the book down. Had to read in a single go and im 100%sure it would bbe the same with you readers too. So skillfully taken , the characters , the frienships the family ties simply superb.

The ease with which she brings the sehgal siblings their best friends , the rajpoots all of them togather, that at one point you feel as you are the part of this inner circle.

And The Jhanak Sehgal, is the ban behind every couple. He knows what to do when to do and exactly in which direction. Even at 80 hes the most active. Age is just a number.
Sapna, with blessings of Jhanak Sehgal,  this book will break records.

Its another Gem added to your crown.
P.s. im falling for jiya.

Sehgals are back, and they are back with a bang.
It was a delight to read all of Sapna's characters in one book, and I mean EVERYONE!!!!
Although I am a bit emotional because this book felt as if the new generation of Sehgals is taking the Legacy Forward a bit dramatic, I know🤭🤭🤭🤭, but this is how you will feel when you have read books about soo many couples in a series and are introduced to other characters who are now going to take the series forward🥲🥲🥲🥲.
About this book, I FREAKING LOVED IT!!!!!!
Jiya is the Quirkiest FMC that I have read, she is smart, intelligent, and funny and she knows how to stand up for herself and get whatever she wants😉😉😉😉😉 she is the perfect match for this Mr. Moody-broody and silent Bali🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
This book was a Grumpy-sunshine, office romance and age gap romance all done right.
Also, these Bali men have a thing for a public confession of love for their women, first Rithwik confessed his love at a Live press conference and now Rohan. I would love to read how Varun Proposed to Tara back in the time🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
Also the cover 🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌 It was much later (almost towards the end) I realised the significance of it, this cover is exactly how the painting was described in the book except the painting had a lion and a lioness in it😉😉😉😉😉 Tell me I am right about this🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
