A haute stocking stuffer for Paris lovers. Haute couture and Paris sights capture Mrs. Claus’s imagination―as they would any woman’s! This charming story finds Mrs. Claus fabulously ensconced in Paris, having enjoyed fashion week and been lured for several months’ stay by all the sights, scents, and couture of Paris. In the end, Santa takes a quick tour of the City of Light himself―the Eiffel Tower, Champs-Elysées, the Louvre, Tuileries Gardens, Notre Dame, Montmartre and more―to find the satiated Mrs. Claus and whisk her back home just in time to help the elves with the last-minute packing of toys for children all over the world. What a wonderful little story, offset of "The Night Before Christmas." Travelling through the prose in Paris was delightful. Wonderful treasures of the many sites. I loved every moment of the reading. This is a special little book I will treasure.
It was a Christmas dream of shopping and sweets in Paris. Santa had to find Mrs. Claus. The countdown had started and Santa needs her help in the present department. The right gift for each child is vital, the colorfully wrapping and let’s not forget the bows ribbon. Along with name tag,is all Mrs. Claus specialty and talent. The workshop elf’s and both Clauses are all working like a fine tuned watch. You will have to read the book for the ending. A great read for all the family to enjoy. Debra H.
I just picture Eloise pulling this out from a box of Christmas decorations and snuggling up to read it with Skipperdee the turtle and Weenie the pug while Nanny struggles to hang the garland around the windows of their suite at the Plaza.
Cute retelling of The Night Before Christmas. Mrs. Claus is out on the town in Paris, taking in the sights, shopping, and enjoying yummy French treats. Santa arrives and joins her before loading up the sleigh and heading back to the North Pole. 3***
A cute little book about all the sights of Paris. The illustrations are adorable. The only issue that I had with it was I am not sure about the time of the year that this story takes place. It is called "The Night Before Christmas...," but it for sure feels like it has to be at least the week before!
Betty Lou Phillips, acclaimed interior designer and translator of European tastes for savvy Americans, teamed with freelance writer Roblyn Herndon to design a Christmas caper for the couture crowd. Night Before Christmas in Paris is a jolly Christmas story that tells the plight of being Mrs. Santa Claus.
Before the holiday season began, Mrs. Claus needed a little time away from the North Pole. Perhaps she had seen too many letters to her husband begging, “all I want for Christmas is a Louboutin,” or maybe the Claus marriage was getting a bit frosty. No matter, a little pampering can cure all, can’t it? Where does the wife of the greatest gift giver go for some retail therapy? Paris, of course!
Just one week, Mrs. Claus promises, then she shall return to the secret workshop. In September, the City of Lights is transformed during a week of haute couture, celebrations and the grandest show of fashion on Earth. Of all the weeks for Mrs. Claus to decide to visit, she arrives in time for Paris Fashion Week. Between the pampering and pastries, Mrs. Claus finds herself caught up in the wave of wonder that can only happen in Paris.
While Mrs. Klaus takes Paris by storm, an unparalleled disaster is brewing at Santa’s workshop. In her absence, vital Christmas details are left undone. Santa can’t deliver Christmas without his wife! What does the man in the red suit do? To save Christmas for the children of the world, Santa comes a little early for Parisians.
Never has the importance of Mrs. Claus been illustrated so poignantly as when she goes to Paris for a week and forgets to return. Night Before Christmas in Paris is a lighthearted read for the fashionista looking for a little Christmas couture.
