First off: where did my beloved artist go??? Again?! Stacey Lee, why must you disappear?! ...Buuuut, I suppose Tana Ford is acceptable... *grunts* And the writing is good.
At the beginning of the issue, there's a moment between Cindy and JJJ that's both surprising and a little heart-warming. There are a bunch of other cute, end-of-the-world things, and I'll admit I did get some feels at the end. It's a great issue.
Loved this first run, love this character, the supporting characters and her arc. It's been a great experience. And I adore the art. Stacy Lee's has been my favorite. Tana Ford did a great one, and later Veronica Fish was so good too! All these people whining about the art are probably the ones who are pissed that Cindy's character isn't being sexualized any more in the art. I've noticed this huge difference between the art of male comic illustrators and female ones (like those who have been drawing Silk in her own title so far), the female illustrators do not sexualize the female characters like the men do, and I appreciate that so much. It's hard not to get angry when you are trying to concentrate on the arc but the (dude)artist keeps drawing ladies like they are so much eyecandy. :/
By itself, this isn't a bad story. I liked the beginning with JJJ and the ending was sweet, albeit sad. However, I got annoyed at the stupid Secret Wars ending. There was a ton of dramatic buildup to work with after the showdown with Black Cat and the people who took Cindy's parents but they just had to end it with Secret Wars getting in the way. (I know it's for continuity reasons but still..) Also after reading this issue I noticed that Vol 1 (yes, I read it backwards) they don't touch on the Cindy-Albert storyline that much, which is disappointing. Also, I'm not a big fan of Tana Ford's art, I think Stacey Lee's style fits the personality of the story much better.

This is the first time I've been flat out put off because Secret Wars interfered with a storyline. We all know this crap isn't going to last, and now it ruined an ending to an otherwise great series, but I can't get behind this one.
"she hasn't given up her search for them, though, even as the end of the world has begun. But first, she's stopping by her psychiatrist's office for a listening ear." I'm sorry? Did she just stand there the whole session? "Well... Thank you. Cindy? I'd like to see you again next week. You know... If the world's still standing. Of course, Dr. Sinclair..."
"I've covered the end of the world a handful of times. But this one... Well... It looks like a keeper. I talked to my friends in the police department. There are no records of your family anywhere. But..." Can't believe the world's ending and JJJ is helping Cindy with her family stuff
"I called Peter. No answer. I hope he's far away from all this. Even though I know he's knee-deep in this. Whatever this is. Good luck, Peter."
"My broken hand... It's running out of webs. I can feel it. Where's a mutant healing factor when you need one...?" "Here goes nothing. Or, y'know: me. Too heavy... Where's a bulk when you need one...?"
Dragon Pokémon dude saved her, I knew someone was coming "It's not good. Get back to your daughter. Day like today... You should be with family. Where are you going? Hopefully to do the same. Now close your eyes. Thanks for saving my bacon."
"--keep moving people! 'scuse me... You some kinda hero? Uh, sure. I'm silk. Never heard of you. Unless you're here to help the evac, get outta my way." lolz
"Ja es is in room 407. I don't... There's... There's no time... He's right. There's no time. There's no time left in the world, and I'm wasting what little is left here. It can't be him... It can't--" it is him and his room's walls are full of silk articles:(((( and then the world ends?? "There is only secret wars" oh my
I didn't like the art style much here

i'm a good guy. girl. woman. person. whatever. so relatable to me and the way i've explored my gender identity over the years lmao. not sure how to feel about this issue and its ending, but i'm looking forward to reading more silk
Doing a complete Secret Wars read-through and liked this simple Last Days of Silk book. She's on the hunt for her family, but has to help everyone along the way.
You should definitely get the volume. You should first read Spider-Man's "SPIDER-VERSE" event, and then read Silk's volume. (because she was first appeared in Spider-Verse, no other reason.. oh wait-- yes.. and she's a badass).
This issue wraps things up really great. She's such a strong character. No matter her flaws and problems and really REALLY screwed up life and all the bad situations she gets into, she's so powerful. She's simply awesome. No matter what she doesn't give up. She complains a lot, but she's not giving up and that shows in like, not a cliché way at all (like billions of other characters).
So in the Last Days of Silk... we get the Secret Wars event catching up to her, meaning the world's ending so she just wants to be with family, family that she was searching all this time, after being locked up in a bunker for all of her life, so we find out if Silk has any chance of finding any member of her family to reunite.
Plus.. the art was amazing. 10/10.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Congratulations to the whole team of making an amazing story with a great end! I hope we get more Silk after the event.
Silk has grown to be one of the utmost enjoyable comic for me to read. The storyline has progressed very well, and I believe this issue to be one of the most emotional. Too bad it ended so soon. The only bad thing I have to say about this issue was that the art wasn't really to my liking. It seems like the artist was changed for this issue. Which is a shame, because this comic normally produces art that I really adore
I must admit that my knowledge of the whole Marvel Secret Wars event is awfully thin. However it's still pretty obvious that something bad is going on and this is the end of something. Possibly the end of everything.
This is a pretty gloomy issue as Cindy finally comes across a lead about her brother only to run out of time before she can find out what happened to him or to her parents.
Silk has been a pretty good series so far and I plan to keep reading.
THIS KILLED ME!! Would've hurt me more if the beautiful artist did not leave ;-; but it still hurt and I wanted to cry myself to sleep. I need more! Seeing that death after all she has been through kinda blew a hole in my heart and I hope that in the new comic book (coming really really soon hopefully) she comes back stronger than ever.
I wish this hadn't gotten smushed into the Event that is Secret Wars. I loved the turn for Harris Porter AKA Pokemon Dude AKA Rage, but I wish that Cindy's reunion with *REDACTED* got as much emotional weight and closure.
