Two grave robbers unearth more than Civil War relics when they desecrate hallowed ground in a Civil War Battlefield. The author tells a story of searching and redemption and shines a new light on one of Americaâ s bloodiest battles. Ghost Cavalry is the story of a family searching for meaning, and finding it generations earlier in the shallow graves of Shiloh, Tennessee. Itâ s a ghost story, a thriller and a story about family, all in one.
I like the cover, and the premise is pretty cool. I don’t understand why it had to take place in the 1970s, unless it was a way to avoid modern tech foiling the plot. This is published by a vanity press, so let this be a warning to anyone considering using one: the book is edited and formatted poorly. This read as an early draft of a book and was not ready for publication. Terrible punctuation, grammar, and capitalization The author/editors apparently don’t believe in scene breaks so I was constantly confused. Repetition: he saw a body. A body that was dead. Combine sentences! “Little did he know…” I absolutely hate these sentences when the book is otherwise attempting to be a tighter POV. Why do I need to know the height AND weight of the female journalist??? The actual plot ended up in a sort of “let them fight” kind of situation, which wasn’t incredibly exciting but I was mostly carried through the plot.
