I really enjoyed this book, each chapter details the history of various game animals in iowa. Some animals such as the white tailed deer and wild Turkey have made their comeback and demonstrate a success story of repopulation in the state. Others, such as the passenger pigeon and bison were hunted to extinction, showing us how the changing land and unregulated hunting, demand for meat/skins impacted their survival. Definitely a good read for anyone interested in history/conservation in Iowa.
