Inexpensive. Indispensable. Iconic. A basic t-shirt is the perfect blank canvas-ready for a creative crafter to cut, stitch, bedazzle, bleach, deconstruct, and personalize. Everyone has a drawerful just waiting for the creative touch. What could be a better way to broadcast an artistic manifesto?

This book is another one of my favorite DIY books, because not only does it have some excellent wearable projects, but great home & deor projects as well!
Loved the ideas in this craft book and will be trying out the awesome 'souvenir tee bag' as well as the simple 'easy tote' for a program with the teens later.
In our overly casual world, it's hard to think of an occasion when a t-shirt won't work. Tucked into a retro circle skirt it can look sophisticated or bedazzled with rhinestones it can dress up a pair of jeans. But did you know it can also be turned into a tote bag, decorative box, and pillow? "TEASE: Inspired T-shirt Transformations by Superstars of Art, Craft, and Design" by Sarah Sockit shows you that and more. After a co-worker challenged me to re-design a boring light blue "Autism Awareness" tee we were required to wear to work every Friday in April, I've been on the hunt for ideas for this assignment. As part of my research, I picked up this book in the library and was pleased to find pages of creative tips. My personal favorites are the "Angora Goat Tee" by James Klein and David Reid (p. 82-84), "Tied-Up Tee" by Cal Patch (p. 114-116) and "Empire Waist Tee" (p. 160-163). Delightfully quirky and on-trend the most useful parts of the book are the simple instructions that allow you to make something lovely regardless of your skill level. Photographed by Danielle St. Laurent, on realistic looking models, "Tease" is also a great place to look for style inspiration.
Really cool book. I like the transformations better than Generation T: 108 Ways to Transform a T-Shirt. I don't feel like a street walker wearing these shirts. They are for more of an advanced sewer though. If you're just learning flip through Generation T, then move on to this.
