The premise of this book is that our lives are simply an accumulation of the thousands of decisions, large and small, that we make every day. The Book of Choices consists of 77 short chapters, each on a fundamental life choice. The chapter consists of a meditation illuminating the nature of that choice, followed by carefully selected quotations from history's greatest thinkers, teachers, and doers. The Book of Choices also contains a biographical index of these great men and women.
Michael Magee was a British journalist. He is credited with introducing a tabloid-style approach to the coverage of technology news. In 2009 the Daily Telegraph placed Magee 35 in its list of Top 50 most influential Britons in technology.
A book of quotes. A book of choices. Because it is the reader's choice: do you want to read it from start to finish? are you looking for something in particular? do you want famous people telling you want is important? or do you want to read what they thought and then write your own quote? Anything is possible with this book and that's why I come back to it from time to time, when I get stuck in life or just feel like I need some insight. Be warned - no ready-to-go life manuals here.
