I related the non-fiction book, “How Long Is a Week” by Claire Clark to the fiction book “All In A Day” by Cynthia Rylant. I related these two books text to text because they are both books about the days. They both help to explain the concept of a day or week. The book “How Long Is a Week” is a book that explains how long a week is. The book uses school days, National Pizza Week, the weekend, a visit to grandpas, vacations, the weather and even a cold to help explain the duration of a week. I found this book very resourceful; this book would be a good source to help teach children the days of the week. This book was published in 2012; it contains a table of contents, a glossary, a read more and Internet sites page and an Index page. The story “All In A Day” is a fiction story that explains the value of a day. The book is a great book to help teach the opportunities that each day brings. This book helps children to see the parts of a day. I think these two books would work well to link as twin texts, because they about days of the week.
