Owls perch in the darkness, waiting for the perfect moment to swoop down on prey. Come soar with this wise bird, and uncover the features that make it a feared nighttime hunter.
This book, illustrated with full color photographs, gives a basic introduction to owls. It describes their physical characteristics, what they eat, where they live, their life cycle, their predators, and their relationship with humans.
Sidebars with additional facts appear throughout the book. A glossary, an index, and a bibliography are included at the back of the book.
I appreciated how many different kinds of owls, including barn owls, are pictured.
Very informative, kids really liked it and it wasn't too overwhelming. The layout was well put together so there isn't loads of information all in one place but smaller chunks for both to enjoy.
