Loving Echo Kent was painful.

Not the falling in love part, that was easy. One look at the tall, blond-haired, blue-eyed narcotics detective and I knew I wanted him. A few months later I knew I couldn’t live without him. But my Echo, he had demons and secrets and a mountain of guilt. His love was selfish and one-sided—he could love but he refused to allow others to love him. The closer I got, the harder he pushed me away. Yet I was determined to make him face the demons that held him hostage.

The fight was hard won but I did it. I was well on my way to healing Echo’s fractured heart when someone from his past came raging into our lives threatening to blow up our perfect future.

As the seconds tick and my death approaches Echo has to make the impossible choice—me or his family.

Family was strong

The story was just a little to raunchy for me. The family dynamics are incredible and I am going to go back and read some of the prior stories as I read this out of order. I still kind of got it but I did have questions on things that were talked about. But it was still good writing I felt. I didn't really like Echo until the end and even then it was iffy. Jaclyn was strong for sure. I liked how she tried to pay him back for his callous treatment. It worked too. He noticed. Loved the family as I said and would like to read about the other couples too. I will skip over the raunchy intimate scenes. I want more romance. More finesse I guess but that's just me.

You knew Echo’s story would be worth the wait and it truly is, emotional and raw at times, you will just want to reach into the book and wrap your arms round Echo and never let him go!
With responsibility thrust on him too young Echo carried the weight of raising his siblings on his shoulders, he always put them first, never took anything for himself and carried his burden of guilt and inner demons. Meeting Jaclyn gave him a glimpse of happy until he shut it down ruthless believing he was undeserving of happiness and love.
Jackie knows loving Echo won’t be easy but she is determined to show him he is worth it, determined to break down his barriers and not let him push her away. Pretty much supported by nearly all their friends she sets about showing Echo he is deserving of love and the back and forth of their relationship is utterly enthralling, be prepared to go through the emotional wringer. Just as they start to believe in the happiness they have found with each other someone from Echo’s past threatens to rip them apart forever.
I absolute adore gruff, sexy, demanding Echo and breath of fresh air Jaclyn who both challenges and completes him on every level. As well as gutting you emotionally the book is also filled with the wonderful Riley Edwards brand of humour and one liners abound!
An amazing story, a fitting finale to the Triple Canopy series (but is it really the end??). You will absolutely enjoy this book, I loved it!

I knew this book was going to wreck me and it did not disappoint. My heart was ACHING by Chapter Two and it did not stop. I will be thinking about this book for a very long time.

Echo Kent has always carried the weight of the world on his shoulders. He raised his three younger siblings after their mother walked out and their father went to jail. River, Phoenix and Shiloh are amazing humans who have succeeded in life and love, so why does Echo feel like he has failed them? He is hiding a secret that is wearing on his soul. It has prevented him from going after what makes him happy and those closest to him don't understand, but they have had enough.

Jaclyn Haines meets Echo through her brother Logan, who is a member of Triple Canopy. We find out in this book that they were secretly seeing each other until Echo called it off after Jackie admits she has feelings for him. They are thrown back into each other's lives after she moves to Georgia and Echo just cannot stay away. Jackie is the reason Echo needs to dig out the hurt.

These two completely ripped my heart out, especially Echo. I wanted to wrap that 6’5” mountain of a man up in my arms and never let him go.

I could go on and on about how emotional this book is, but I would be remiss if I did not also mention how hot it is. Echo Kent is a DIRTY TALKER and BOSSY AF in bed! He and Jaclyn absolutely burn up the pages.

There is some danger with one of Echo's cases and the last few chapters had me on the edge of my seat and worried for my sanity. I really thought something bad was going to happen, but Riley Edwards did not let me down and delivered one of the best HEAs I have ever read.

This is a family/found family multi-series and I love it when we see cameos from the other characters, especially Jasper and Matt. Fractured is the last book in the Triple Canopy series but we will be getting a spin-off with some of the characters featured in this book. I am so excited for Hollow Point!

I cannot recommend this book enough. I love everything Riley Edwards writes.

'Are you strong enough to withstand the emotional mess that is Echo Kent?'

He is the last single Kent, he is the one that raised River, Phoenix and Shiloh, he protected them, defended them, taught them, loved them and fought for them....he made them a family. But it has left him broken, hollow in a way it is hard to understand and heartbreakingly he cannot forgive himself for his perceived failures, the failures that only he sees. Jaclyn knows he has to face his demons before he can move on, he has to forgive himself for the decisions his teenage self made as he fought for his siblings....his children. This is an emotional battle that Echo has with himself as much as anyone else, but it is a devastating one that had me sobbing more than once, it's a guilt and a pain he has carried for over twenty years, the acid burning in his gut has always reminded him where they came from, but the past doesn't matter...it cannot be changed...but Echo can. Jaclyn has more than enough love to fill his hollows and stitch his wounds...she is everything.
I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

This book was phenomenal! As always, Riley’s characters are amazing! Echo and Jaclyn are quite the pair.

Echo had to become a man at a very young age. Responsibilities that weren’t his became his and every decision affected his siblings. He had the weight of the world on his shoulders. He looked out for everyone but himself. Bitter at life he felt he deserved no happiness.

Jaclyn knew pain, but she also knew family. True family. Her situation wasn’t much different than Echo. Two kindred souls fighting a losing battle.

The push and pull of life was almost too much alone. But together, they could mend each other. Heal their hearts. But one tiny misstep in the past almost takes them from each other. This story was emotional and gut wrenching. It absolutely pulled at my heart! Amazing!!

Let me start off by saying I was intrigued by the premise of this book. And more so by the rating, and the fact that it had 0% 2 and 1 star ratings. Usually you find this with newly published books, so I was skeptical and rightly so.

1. This was supposed to be an interconnected standalone. So you are supposed to be able to read it as a standalone, one that's part of a bigger picture, right? This book spent far too long explaining family dynamics and past characters in the introduction and the rest of the book. I felt like it was so focused on making sure every other character cameoed in the book, the main characters sort of became side characters.

2. They became side characters. This book barely had any page time of just Echo and Jaclyn, the book was so focused on everybody else's lives and Echo's job, it felt like I saw nothing of their actual relationship. Apart from the scene where they have their fight, and the scene where they first have their real talk. It gave nothing. It left me severely disappointed and miffed.

3. Language. I'm not sure if it's the Americanisms or just me but the language was odd. It wasn't poorly written apart from a few grammar mistakes. The main issue was the incorrect uses of linguistic devices. It felt like the author opened up a thesaurus and shoved the word in without fully comprehending what it meant and how it should be used. There were conditional sentences used where they should have been split. Commas used instead of semi colons. And just overall weird sentence structures.

4. Language. AGAIN. The amount of time these men "roared" I may as well have watched Lion King. Some examples of squiffy language.
"Mark this, little sister". Said by Logan. Nobody says that anymore.
"Might roar " by Echo
"Almighty roar" by Logan
"Touchstone" this one I think is just an American thing bc I've never heard it used in this context.

5. Family. I have a big close knit family. But this family were way too involved. They didn't give either of them a second to breathe. It felt like their relationship couldn't exist unless a family member was there. Not as in they got together because of family, more in the sense unles the family was in the scene there was nothing of or about the relationship. It died as soon as they exited stage left. It just got cringier as the book went on.

There's more to say and not enough time. Just like this book.

dnf@28%. Choc full of characters from other books so my decision to read this without reading others in the series was a none starter. the writing style wasn't doing it for me either so I gave up after a while since it was a real struggle,

We have known about Echo since we met him in an earlier book in the Triple Canopy series. The big taciturn man has been a mystery as we've continued to run into him in more books. But one thing is known--he deserves to be happy. The Kent siblings did not have a happy childhood, and Echo, being the eldest, did everything he could to raise them all right. He took care of them all above and beyond.

We knew from an earlier book he had connected with Jackie, but she still lived in Michigan. Now she is back in Hollow Point, and Echo's decided he wants her in his life. Their story is poignant as Echo carries so much guilt regarding his brothers and sister. He doesn't feel he deserves to be happy, and Jackie is bound to prove him wrong. Fractured is a quick-paced novel in the classic Riley Edwards style. Echo is alpha all the way and best friends with the tribe of other alpha males we've come to love.

Riley continues to write these stories of suspense and love as she becomes ever better at her craft. If you have not read the series that make up this wonderful bunch of characters, you owe it to yourself to read them all.

I've been looking forward to this one, the last Kent standing, the one everyone is a bit in awe of and a bit afraid of. Echo's a bit standoffish, always does the right thing, the "father" figure to his siblings, so much wrapped up in him. I wasn't sure about the couple at first, Echo was a bit of an ass, but once he really let Jaclyn in, things changed, you saw how much he felt like he had to hold back, how much he blamed himself for things that weren't his fault, how much he took on at such a young age and how much his siblings look up to him and he wasn't aware. I loved that Jaclyn got him, knew when to push and when to just be there.

My favorite scenes in this one were the bomb ones, when Echo wouldn't leave, but made sure his sibs were going to be ok and then later when the sibs explained to Jaclyn why they were crying when they left and it wasn't because they thought they were going to loose him. So much love there and finally Echo got it and Jaclyn was there to see as a bonus. The only thing better is knowing these 2 can live out their lives happy.

Perfect

I've been waiting for Echo to have his story told from the moment he was introduced. I was nervous that I had built him up in my head and that he wouldn't live up to it. I need not have been worried because he was worth the wait. I loved watching him be vulnerable and deal with his baggage.

As usual, the author seamlessly worked in old characters without leaving me confused as to who they were or too heavy that it felt encumbered. If anything, it made me want to go back and read ALL the books again.

I'm sad that TC is over but am looking forward to what this author has in store for the future. I'm sure that this isn't goodbye and that these characters will make an appearance again.

Great series and book for anyone that likes their romance with a pinch of suspense, a splash of strong men that would set the world on fire to protect the women they love, and add in the perfect amount of steam that will have you checking to see if your Kindle is on fire.

Echo, oh Echo my darling... How many times can you break me Riley with your beautiful broken disaster characters? But I'll always come back for more. I knew Echo would tear my heart to shreds and carry me on an emotional trek. Riley writes so beautifully, with quotes and invoking feelings that stop me dead in my tracks. Jacklyn and Echo's journey to an HEA was a soul-searching, internal demon crushing, emotional rollercoaster that left me in one major book hangover. The narration by Connor Crais and Mackenzie Cartwright pulls those emotions from you even more with their amazing abilities. An emotional ride with danger, action, and heart stopping suspense and pain....AMAZING!

I loved this book so much. I knew Echo’s story would break my heart and it totally did. But no worries! Riley put it back together. The eldest Kent sibling was put through the wringer. We knew the backstory of the Kents but it was even worse than we knew. Jackie was the perfect person for Echo and I loved that she didn’t put up with his crap. Also, of course, the suspense elements were great. I couldn’t put it down. If you love Riley’s books I promise you will love this one!

3 ⭐️ another alpha male romance from the queen of alpha male romance. It was good! It maybe felt rushed or something? Maybe I’ve just read too many Riley Edward’s in a row… probably need a small break before I continue with her next series

amazing

Wow, what a way to end Triple Canopy! I’ve wanted Echo’s book since Shiloh’s and this did not disappoint. This book will make you love Echo even more. All that he did for his brothers and sister. It is a very emotional read that will grip your heart and not let go. Jaclyn (Jackie) is perfect for Echo in every way. I couldn’t love this book any more. I can’t wait for the Hollow Point series.

Echo and Jaclyn

Oh, this was so good! I had tears in my eyes with the family dance/bonding, laughter with the banter between characters, and so much more. Ms. Edwards does such a good job painting pictures with her words. I read this in one sitting, I couldn't put it down!

Interconnected standalone. I have not read anything previous of the series and felt out of touch most of the time.
Echo Kent is a hero and the most standup older brother imaginable. But he’s also a total jerk to Jackie, multiple times. Why does she tolerate this?
Both had truly messed up childhoods. Jackie overcomes. Echo stagnates, until his siblings and his team and his friends intervene. All up in his business.
So, it took a bomb to open his eyes fully? Dramatic.
I liked the book. But not enough to go back and read previous books to understand the overall picture.

Here’s the thing, loved the book from the 70% to the end the twists and turns and the character growth with the love story was so good. But that start ……..I was so lost with all the characters and their partners like we were introduced to a new character every damn paragraph ?? Anyways decent read.

This is book 8 in the Triple Canopy series. Now it doesn't have to be read in order, however I would at the bare minimum read the following books before reading this book-Imperfect, Tarnished, Dangerous Rescue, and Shattered. These books are about Echo's brother's and sister along with Jackie's brother. So you get glimpses of the relationships between them all and the bigger dynamics and issues they both deal with. With that being said, and now we get Echo and Jackie's story.

I don't know about anyone else who has been reading this series, but I feel like I have been waiting FOREVER for this book!! I knew Echo's story would break my heart, I just didn't realize how much. This man. He has done so much for his family-HIS kids. And he harbor's so much pain inside that it is completely heartbreaking. The way he is with Jackie, especially once he finally faces his feelings-I wanted to hug this man. Jackie has been through a lot and they have similar histories to a point, but the fact that she has this spine of steel and knows exactly what she would be giving up if she gave up on him? I loved her for him!!! Absolutely loved her!!! The way not only his family but hers had her back? Absolutely beautiful! And then you throw in his partner (who I absolutely need a story for btw!!) and it just showed how much of beautiful human being that Echo truly is. I don't want to say a lot about the story because I feel it is best to be able to read it with no spoilers. But just bring some tissues and watch for a certain person that I also need a story for, and know one is coming now!! And while I am sad that this series is ending, I am excited for the new series that is going to start!

I knew from the pieces of the story of the life of the Kent siblings that we had learned in the previous books of this series that this book was going to be emotional, but I don't think I was prepared enough for the number of times I was sobbing reading this book (if you know me, that's not a bad thing AT ALL!). I adored this story and the characters and I am so glad they are going to continue in some form in the new spinoff series.
Echo - I just want to wrap him up in a hug and never let him go. The depth of love this man has for his siblings and his friends; without realizing it, he's made himself the caretaker, the one who stands firm for everyone, but he's never allowed himself to have a safe place to fall. When Jackie offers herself as just that, Echo doesn't know what to do with that. He doesn't want to be vulnerable and let someone else shoulder the burden even a little bit because that means he failed somehow.
Jackie - she's beautiful inside and outside and somehow she finds the right words to let Echo know she sees ALL of him. She wants to be the place that he can hide in a storm and know that she doesn't judge him for needing her. They are perfect for one another (physically, emotionally, spiritually) and like each of the couples in this whole set of series of books (from 707 to Next Gen to TC) these couples are meant to be, perfect, end game to each other. Even though they all fight it in some way, believe they aren't worthy, don't deserve it, have shame for something and can't have it, they ARE perfectly suited for each other. It's there in the special things that each couple has - nicknames, favorites, habits -- just perfect!
This story is the perfect ending for this series because it's Echo who made the Kent siblings as normal as possible and even he was deserving of that happy ending.
Favorite quote: "No, Jaclyn, not enough. You’re everything. Everything he needs to open his eyes and do the hard work so he can keep you."

The shining thing that I love about Riley's books is that while each tale may be similar, she gives me a snippet of previous characters and their history, which is perfect if you have been waiting for a novel to be released and some time has passed.
As per Riley's trope I got to see a sad tortured alpha. And boy, i figured he was a tough nut to crack, and I wasn't wrong.
Logan plays an integral part to the plotline , showing how family stands strong. And letty was hilarious.
Jac, I'm glad to say, has some inner strength and grit, which is definitely needed for this big stubborn gorgeous pain filled man. Although I am finding him typically, a tad mercurial. I could definitely feel a slap upside the head coming on.
The plot started out rather sedately. Filling me in with the history and pain of Logan's and Echo's family, the push, pull of the H and h, the stubbornness and boy, the steam. However, what did catch me by suprise was jac's sneaky byplay. It made me chuckle and boy it was fun yet emotionally challenging, to see things unravel. The stubbornness between H and h played out just long enough to be interesting but not so long as to get the eyeroll, and all the scheming, it was a dangerous games they were getting in to.
The fact that animals were involved just like in Chelsea's story, was cause for me to do a happy dance...i so enjoy it when horses are involved. But the best bit of dialogue, if one is invested, is chapter 19. I just about cried for the whole 20 minutes. Absolutely brilliant.
The suspense side of the novel rolled into the storyline at the right time and boy i wasn't disappointed, the angst ramped up considerably.
The whole action moment was written with a subtlety that worked perfectly.
It was so good to have all my favourite characters in my ears. The emotion was gutwrenching and just beautiful
A wonderful book. Thank you Riley yet again.

Must be hard carrying all that baggage

This is the first book in this series that I’ve read, and while it was able to be read as a stand-alone, there were also so so many characters from the previous books that it was impossible to keep them all straight. At one point the author was laying down the background and naming so many people by first and last name, and I’ll admit to skimming past them because I had no idea who they were or if they were important, but figured I’d catch up later if they were.

This was an enjoyable, if emotionally challenging at times, read. There are so many characters from previous books. A lot of LEO’s, some DEA, and the Triple Canopy crew. Family, both by blood and by choice. Echo and Jackie had a brief secret situationship, which he ended abruptly when she admitted to having feelings. He’s spent his entire life raising his siblings and protecting them from the horrors of their childhood, as well as stuffing down the guilt he shouldn’t have carried in the first place. She had a similar background situation, only she was the baby sister and her brother carried a similar burden. I’ll admit that initially I was afraid she was going to be a doormat when she pursued him after he pushed her away. But she wasn’t. She was exactly what he needed. She told him she wasn’t going to let him push her away, and she didn’t. I love the relationships they both have with their siblings, and how her brother was able to offer her insight into what Echo was feeling. He was a great guy, who truly believed he wasn’t worthy. There was a bit of suspense, albeit a bit predictable and could see it coming from a mile away. But how it played out was still well done. Overall an entertaining and intriguing read.

If I could give this book a gazillion stars - it still wouldn't come close to how much I loved this book.

I love Riley Edwards. As a person, as an author. She is everything. Pretty weird way to start a book review but I needed to get that said first. Why? Because knowing that, you’ll hopefully understand why I gush and fangirl over her books. Fractured, the final book in the Triple Canopy series [please hold while I wipe away my tears] was EPIC. It wrapped up so much about the couples we have come to love and think of as family. It FINALLY brought us Echo’s story. It completed us.

To say that we have been waiting for Echo to get his HEA is putting it mildly. We’ve watched him help each one of his siblings find their HEA hoping upon hope that he found his as well. When he met Jackie, I think we all breathed a sigh of relief. But as we are all familiar with Riley and her books, we knew that it wasn’t going to be an easy road. Echo doesn’t believe he deserves happiness. But if there’s one thing that fly-by-the-seat-of-her-pants Jackie knows, it’s how to get what she wants. And what she wants is Echo.

Should I tell you about all the big brother feels? Should I tell you about the sarcastic nephew? Nah…I think I’ll let you find those all on your own. Even though we are saying goodbye to the TC family and that’s very bittersweet, this book was magic. I think that says it all. Now if you’ll pardon me…I’m headed back to start rereading this fabulous series.

There are a few authors I would read everything from and Riley Edwards is one.

Echo is a tough cookie w lots of damage. But redeemable shit. He’s a good guy. Just thick layers of trauma.

Some reviewers were saying they didn’t like him but I did. I liked that he kept his siblings safe and cared for when their parents refused to parent. I also enjoyed reading a character arc where it takes time for the mc to really trust and love.
They might like his character more if they read his sister’s book first, then River and last Phoenix’s story. Before hitting Echo’s. Just gives you a better idea of the good man he is.

The spice was good and where it needed to be for the story. Riley always nails it. This couple was hot w solid chemistry they established pre story-so it’s a large part of the story. Not all of it. This isn’t 🌽 🤣. Trust me. It’s perfect.

I liked Jackie-she was tough, smart but not so stubborn and dumb she acted out like a teenager. She is one of my fave women Riley has ever written and I love a lot of them!

Riley is starting a new series w characters from TC. Hollow Point. Dalton and Vanessa will have their story. And I cannot WAIT. Vanessa is Wren’s friend and assistant-so read Wren & Phoenix’s story to get intro’d to those two.

Really I love the entire 707, The Next generation and Triple Canopy series. My all time faves. I highly recommend starting w her 707 series to get the roots of where Triple Canopy started. W Levi, Jasper, Nolan and Lenox’s stories.

Send help…I am not okay. I (not so) secretly fell in love with Echo when we first met him in Shiloh/Lucas’s story. The broody bad-boys always get me. I have been waiting for this release but also dreading it because there have been enough hints dropped that I suspected Echo would destroy me. It’s no longer a suspicion. 100% confirmed that Echo has done me in.

Yes, he is all brooding bad-boy, but behind that facade is a man who has never once had someone equal to or above him, love him, and love him enough to stay. Sure, his siblings love him as both big brother and father. But he was thrust into the role of father in a way that never should happen. And the man blamed himself for it (*sobbing). He can’t see past his own guilt to see what he has been able to create from that. A family that he can be proud of, a rock for his siblings to anchor to, and the reliable backbone to widen their circle and create a friend group that is more family than friends.

Enter Jaclyn. I knew Echo would take a special heroine to break him out of his self-imposed hell. And y’all, if she isn’t just absolutely perfect for him. Willing to dish it right back, to stand her ground, to demand more…both from him but also for him. She is absolutely exactly what he needed to break free from the chains he had placed on himself.

I love Riley Edwards and the worlds she has created. No secret there. But I also believe this is some of her finest work and a story I will come back to over and over again.

Echo and Jaclyn

Nobody writes military suspense quite like Riley Edwards. I read this book in one sitting, my house could have caught on fire and I don’t think I would have noticed. This just grabbed my attention from page one and didn’t let go.

Echo Kent spent his life living for his three younger siblings. Their happiness was his happiness, yet he still felt like a failure. He didn’t believe he deserved his own happily ever after, but Jaclyn changed everything for him. Jaclyn understood Echo in a way that nobody else could. She had her own brother who had protected her at the expense of his happiness, so she knew what Echo felt on a different level.

She was the only person outside his siblings who had ever stayed, and Echo spent a good amount of time pushing her away because of his feelings, but when he finally understood what he was losing, he was all in. Echo went from broody and broken to open and devoted and the change was magnificent. I loved how Jaclyn took care of Echo and never gave up on him. She struggled with the need to protect her own heart, but in the end she would never be able to walk away from Echo.

I loved how the Triple Canopy family embraced Jaclyn and Echo and helped both to fix what had been broken. There was minimal angst and a lot of revelations that made understanding Echo so much easier. As intense as the end of this book was, it was equally emotional. Sheer Perfection!! Echo & Jaclyn 🥰

This entire series is amazing and you will fall hard for the amazing families/characters/relationships. Book 8 is no different and this is the story we’ve been waiting on! Echo has done everything to raise his siblings and to keep them safe & protected. His entire world revolves around them and their happiness. They are his everything and he wants them to be loved & successfully in all they do!

However, while protecting them he has left himself with little to no room for himself. He works, he visit is his family, and he checks in with his friends but he doesn’t have anyone to call his own. All that changed when he laid eyes on Jaclyn at Quinn’s wedding. She is a lot younger than him and he can’t seem to get her out of his mind. Now that she’s back in the picture he has to decide what he’s going to do?? He wants her and their chemistry is off the charts but Echo is broken, fractured, unavailable emotionally….but Jaclyn needs Echo and she will not let him push her away. She knows he’s going to try and she’s ready to take on everything that comes with getting to be with Echo!!!

The last book in the series, we knew it would be heart wrenching!!!
What better way than to finish the series with Connor Crais and Mackenzie Cartwright! Connor does a great job in all of his narrations but something about his voice with Echo’s story, very life like, very real and Mackenzie puts on an epic display of giving us Jaclyn!
Echo Kent, wow! Echo raised his siblings and took on the role and responsibility for whatever the situation called for. All he wanted was to see they happy because God knows he doesn’t deserve to be, not after what he did!
Jaclyn doesn’t do casual sex but something about that time she visited her brother and met the all-consuming Echo Kent, she just had to enjoy time with him, until she began feeling herself fall for him. He told her not to, he couldn’t give her what she needed.
Jaclyn didn’t think she could be what Echo needed her to be, could she? Could she give him casual and walk away every time unharmed, no way!!! But she did. She gave him everything she could and got up and left afterward and Echo was putting a stop to it! Finally, giving in to his feelings, Echo decides he wants to see what could come of their relationship. Before long though, danger found them both and Echo had to make a life altering decision that he finally realized was the only one he could make.
Riley did an incredible job with our final character in Triple Canopy and gave us all the one we hoped for all this time!!

Love, danger and healing

Whew. This story of the last Kent sibling packs quite an emotional punch. I was really feeling all the big things with this one. All the feels. It had the perfect balance of humor, heartwarming love, real life issues, danger, past pain, and spice. I have a soft spot for the people who are a bit uncomfortable in their skin because they don’t feel like they fit in or are worthy, like Echo. So I love when they finally see their truth, their worth and they get swoon worthy HEAs. Echo is a good cop and a great protector. He was abandoned by his mother, his father is a criminal and is in prison for killing a cop. He raised his three siblings who are now all happily married but he still feels fractured and hollow. Jaclyn also has a traumatic past. Her father abused her, her siblings and her mother. Her older brother protected them and helped raise them. Echo and Jaclyn had a months long relationship but when Jaclyn professed her feelings Echo ended it. Now that Jaclyn has moved to the same town it’s harder to ignore what they have. To get to their HEA, there will need to be a lot of baggage unpacking and leaps of faith for both of them. The book was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline with sweet moments, exciting action, danger, supportive family and friends, painful pasts, plot twists, imperfect characters, missteps, and all the big feels.

Finally, the wait is over!

There aren't enough words to express how much I've loved this series. Riley Edward's truly exceeds and creating male characters who are completely bada** in their everyday lives yet vulnerable when it comes to their hearts. Echo needed to step up at a young age in order to keep his siblings together and ensure they were properly cared for. He was essentially forced by their circumstances become the father who would raise them to be good people despite the disastrous parentage they'd been cursed with. Throughout it all, the one thing he wanted was to see Shiloh, River, and Phoenix happy. Somewhere along the way the guilt that had haunted and burdened him since their childhoods made him feel that he was undeserving of the same happiness. One awkward love intervention later and it's clear that his family isn't having any of that. They want him to find the final piece of the family puzzle, and they see Jaclyn as his one chance at finally having the same happiness they've found. But Jaclyn already had her heart broken once by Echo. She isn't sure if she can handle risking Echo breaking her heart again. That's just the beginning. There is so much more. Plenty of action and plenty of steamy bits as well. All of it so good and so worth the wait. Read this! I guarantee you'll love it as much as I do.
