Poetry. SMALL WORKS is Pam Rehm's sixth book of poetry. While moving towards an ever more spare clarity, Rehm awakens the moral senses through bewilderment, impatience, and quizzical humor. Amid the crowded anonymity of an increasingly anxious urban life, these poems take sustenance from the natural world, children's games, and familiar "The world of consequence be with you / always." As Fanny Howe writes, "These poems have an angelic quality, a solid invisibility that buoys up the lines from under and around them. There is neither an I nor a Thou within range, but both of these seem to be balancing Rehm's thoughts from end to end."

sauced up

deceptively simple looking

she has a very cool understanding of the line & the page

page 30-end (minus the talking dog poem) there are only hitters

very much recommend for meditative poetry heads who are God-pilled

Prayer-like. Which is to say that there are riddles here, complete with unassuming (i.e., half-smiling) surfaces.

Lovely and sparse. That I could write something as beautiful as this smallest line:

"Let me open up
Like morning down my spine"
