Ivy Asher is addicted to chai, swearing, and laughing a lot (but not in a creepy, laughing alone kind of way). She loves the snow, books, and her family of two humans, and three fur-babies. She has worlds and characters just floating around in her head, and she's lucky enough to be surrounded by amazing people who support that kind of crazy.
I was disappointed by how this series was ended. The author left so many unnecessary plot threads dangling. For example, Vinna got a new rune on her throat during a fight that she couldn't/wouldn't process afterward or later when she thought about it again. It felt for a moment like the author was trying to set up yet another mate, but I imagine it was her obtaining the magic that almost killed her via her mimic ability. What's the secretive allusions to the rune, though? Especially as she never does process what the rune is or how she feels about it? Likewise, she promised Getta to bring Isaak's mate to her, but we never see that happen. Who is it? Why was this brought up as a serious moment if the author was not going to follow through on it? Then there is Vaughn. It just felt like a lot of the action took place off page, especially with large time jumps scattered throughout the story. I also felt like the guys became pretty interchangeable here aside from Torres, but only because he is a wolf. I just would have hoped to have finally gotten more answers in a final book and had plot threads tied up.
I've enjoyed this series and I think its a great introduction for Ivy Asher. All of the characters are strong and the story is well paced out. Its completely safe and at no point are the guys even tempted to look at anyone else, plus while we know they're not virgins we get NO information about their previous partners, nor do we ever meet them. The series itself is a solid 4 stars.
However.....while I love me some Vinna she kinda got on my nerves. She's wwwwaaaayyyyy to horny. The guys smile, she gets flutters; the guys go all caveman, she gets wet; the guys flex some muscle, she...you get the point. It seems like every couple pages shes referring to TGV. By the time this book came around I was fully aware of how the guys affected her..I didn't need the constant reminders. Its to the point where I began to wonder how she functions or gets anything done in a day due to TGV. The joke was just overdone.... This installment was so focused on finding Sentinel city and Vinna's place within it that the guys became background chatter. They were there but everything was about Vinna and her emotions - which were f'd up for most of the book so she was all over the place - crying, horny, made, etc all in one page. I've been with these characters for 4 books now but I had to remind myself who was who because no focus was on them as individuals at all. My biggest let down though was how things with Vaughn were handled. We got no information on what happened after he "woke up". How did he react to what happened to him? How did he know who everyone was? What was his reaction to Vinna? How was his reunion his team? with We get NONE of that!!! Despite the points pointed out above the book was a good conclusion. Vinna found her people, her place and they all have a purpose now. The spin off (Enoch's team) is left at a good picking up point, Ivy's other series tie ins are easy to see, and the understanding that we will see Vinna again - in passing or possibly a novella type thing - is all clear.
First thing, because there are so many characters, (and I didn't read them back to back since I had to wait on the last to be written) there needs to be some sort of recap of characters and main events to get you going. I was so lost when I started this book and it had been only a few months wait time. As I read though, some of it came back to me. But, I still have no idea what any of the characters look like and I couldn't remember which was which of the first group.
I recommend bingeing the whole series for full effect. It is actually really good.
I do like how there was sort of an open end that leaves room to restart the series at some point.
Now characters: I think Torrez and Siah stand out most in my mind...after I figured out who they were! Who wouldn't love a guy who has an orgasmic bite? And a crazy alpha wolf who likes to throw down as much as Vinna does?
The world and all its intricacies are perfect. The drama and politics add just enough depth to keep things interesting without overpowering. The characters were great but as much as they were separate in my mind when I read the last book, they were a jumble in this one. Perhaps I should have just reread it, and at some point I might just do that. However, there were a few too many for my liking. How can time be divided up enough for them all to feel included without group action, lol. But whatever. I wasn't reading it for that anyway! ;-) haha.
So, great series! Highly recommend it. Just do yourself a favor and don't wait months to read the next book or whatever. Or, take good notes maybe!
4.7 stars. Whew. Ok. So that was a lot of things all happening after the main thing from the rest of the books concluded. I really enjoyed getting to know more about the sentinels and the secret city they’ve been hiding in for centuries. Also loved getting more time with all the guys. Still upset it’s only single POV. This book could’ve been elevated so much by giving us even just little sneak peeks into the guys’ minds.
Then there’s the fact we don’t get a group scene. Uh. Hello? That’s sort of the funnest part of a RH? I don’t know about the rest of you but I’m in it for the group scenes dammit. I mean. Everything else is good. And Im not really complaining about what we did get, even though it was super tame and a tiny bit repetitive. I mean we didn’t even get a blowjob from Vinna. *sigh* I was just disappointed a bit, that’s all.
Plus that ending was a real tease. Why give us so much information on something we’re not gonna see. Unless that first case they’re called on starts the next series or something?
I don’t know. I really enjoyed the series and the characters and all the action. But I was a little disappointed by what it lacked. I’m not really sure if I’ll read the other sentinel series or not. Right now I’m leaning toward not.
This final instalment sees vinna and her entourage head out to discover and attempt to learn more regarding her own kind. So after securing Adriel’s stronghold they all then set off outward bound for the mysterious sentinel city with no idea what they’ll even find when they reach their destination. Things are definitely still somewhat rocky between the Chosen and the Shields but this journey does begin to mend those particular bonds or at least start on the road there.
But the hidden city is filled with unexpected dangers and certain prejudices and Vinna now founds herself questioning the constant rejection she routinely seems to face. This causes her to then question everything before finally, she has an epiphany accepting that it’s her mates that are actually her real home.
This one was packed full of intrigue danger and emotion. It’s definitely the spiciest book out of the series so far and there was a lot of heat involved here which i certainly appreciated a lot. We have some added unrest in the form of Vinna’s shields who have unexpectedly found themselves with unfamiliar Chosen marks something I was definitely pleased about. Also, Sentinels that attack first and ask questions later and Vinna discovers some long-lost family and additional happiness when one she thought lost is miraculously restored to what he once was.
This managed to finish everything off bringing closure but also opening up the series for future stories set in this fascinating world. An intriguing series that I’ve definitely enjoyed reading and do recommend.
You know those series where everything is wrapped up tight with a nice bow?
Yeah, this isn't it.
I'm assuming this is a world, and maybe the answers I seek will be further down the line in a different book? Buuuuuutttttttt, did I like it enough to continue & find out? Nope. 🤷🏻♀️
I thoroughly enjoyed the 4th book in the Lost Sentinel series. Vinna is a strong and complex main character. Her relationship with her mates is vibrant and moving. The storyline was excellent. I recommend this series.
I'm not quite sure if this was the last book for The Lost Sentinel but if so I will surely miss these characters. The heroine of this series was a kickass, foul mouth, badass that you just couldn't help but love her and root for her. There have only been a hand full of books that I've read that I'd absolutely loved the heroine and this was one of them. I think I loved this series just because of who "Vinna", was as a person and the sheer perseverance and determination she had about fighting for what was right and what she wanted without any regrets.
Seriously, Ivy, I think you could push out another The Lost Sentinel book and round it all out to 5 books for this series... Whatcha think?
Well, bravo Ivy, on a well-written story that has held me captive and excited to read during every book release. I wish you luck on any other book series you have going on because I don't think you can ever top this one sweetie, but hey there's nothing wrong with hopeful wishing right?
The overall rating for this book: 4* ~ A Very Good Read
The overall rating for this series: Hands down 5* ~ A Must Read!
I wish this series was more than okay, but it just never ended up completely clicking with me. I couldn’t get over the flat humor, the flat characters, and the way I kinda felt like it was an effort to get through the books. I was heavily relying on the things I did enjoy to carry me through in the hope that I would end up liking this more at some point. There were a few things resolved in this book which was nice, but overall, it still felt like there were a few loose ends that made the ending not pay off. I know there are two series based in the world, but I don’t feel desperate enough for answers to trudge through them.
It might be unfair to say that this book felt like work because I did find myself immersed at times… just not all the time. I never ended up resonating with any of the characters, and I felt so disconnected from the plot in this particular book that it made it hard to get lost in the world the way I want to.
What a fun series this has been. While I do wish Vinna will take a chill pill and stop hitting first and asking questions later, I can’t deny I still love this badass. The story picks up with Vinna, her men and her protectors heading off into the wilds in search of more sentinels like her. Of course no one knows how they will be received or if they even exist. I love that this final book took a whole new path. It was so fun to see all the traits and talents of sentinels. Not necessarily surprising that everyone is so quick to fight as that’s Vinnas first reaction as well. Everything worked out in the end and I’m glad I’m wondering if there will be an offshoot series with some of the other characters introduced here. Personally I loved her bestie and hope she does get herself a harem 😘
This ended in such an exciting place gah I wanna go on the trip. But still this book was decent but also seemingly long. We see Vinna her Chosen and whatever Enoch and his coven are, maybe Shields, off to Sentinel City where they hope to find more Sentinels and answers.
Well they get that and they don’t. It’s a very crazy exciting time. I do wonder though if Vinna will be adding more Chosen or not. I assume not, due to what happened in this time jump forward, but ya never know.
Overall I definitely liked this better than the last book. This had more going for it for sure and less...crap.
But this is a difficult one as well. I found myself tearing up in several places for both sad and happy reasons. I’m not one to get teary much from books so when that happens it imo a great book.
Can’t wait for the world building. I had no idea The Shadowed Wings was part of the Sentinel world. I thought it was completely separate but apparently it’s not, which I learned when I read it before finishing this series.
The best thing I can say about this series is that I'd read more of these books, I hate series with the same mcs running on forever(except Elena and Eve) but I really enjoyed these books and would love to see more of Vinna and her guys. This series isn't perfect, there are some annoyances but definitely one I enjoyed overall The relationship is settled but the resolution seems open ended so we may get more adventures in time to come. I'd be interested in who the h of the big dude from the Sentinel City mate turns out to be? Maybe Cyn? I hope the author gives them their own stories. All in all I'm really pleased I took a chance on this author
RH We know the guys aren't virgins but absolutely no details They were completely devoted to the h h was a virgin who ends up constantly horny with 7 mates😂 #whychoose
Just wow. I am not prepared for this series to end. Vinna has grown so much over the series. She doesn't jump to unnecessary dramatic conclusions. She is fierce but vulnerable in the best way. One of the kost ultimate badass FMCs of the RH world. I loved how each of the guys had a moment. I understand the need for the loving and intimacy in the book. They all lived liked there was no tomorrow. It has to be difficult to keep up with 7 males in the book. Ivy Asher does a great joy with including the guys and keeping up there depth and chemistry with Vinna. So much happens in this book, though I will say I wanted to be a bit more "astounded" by the Sentinel capital. I wanted more understanding about Vinna and her role or heritage. I did like more backstory about the Sentinels and even Siah's backstory. I even liked how the Shields were explained and why she "needed" them. The story moved a bit too fast with trying to tie up so many ends. Even through all of that it was still a good book and a GREAT series. I heart Vinna and her mates. (Aside: I loved the mention of this book Knox was reading about a fairy cupid and these genfins lol...had be laughing).
Not ready at all for this series to be over. However, I'm happy it sounds like the story will have a spinoff. All of those breadcrumbs with Issek and Wekun. I want to know what that was all about not to mention the ending. I just hope it is as great as this series.
Well it's official - Vinna is cemented as one of my top 3 bada** main characters of all time! It took me awhile to work up to reading this because I honestly did not want to say goodbye. The ending gives me hope that we're going to get some really cool cameos from Vinna and her Chosen in the future.
Ive Asher I bow down to you for one of the best series final books I've read in some time. While sad about saying goodbye it also left me satisfied. Thanking for wrapping it up with all of the steam, drama, tear welling, action and f***ing laugh out loud moments we've all come to love about this series. Vinna has been one of the most inspiring characters I've added to my book collection in years and her Chosen make want to just say " Same Mave, same!"
This is by far one of the best series' that I have ever read! I love all the guys and Vinna is a one of a kind bad@ss chic! I am so so sad to see this come to an end but am super excited for a spin off series!
Ivy you freaking rock! I love everything you put on paper! For everyone who hasn't read this series you are missing out! Even though it ended I still want more! This was EVERYTHING!!!
"Let's go dance until we're sweaty and laugh until our cheeks hurt!"
I can't believe how hard I binge-read these books!! If you love a great RH with lots of sass, lough out loud fun and all the damn feels, read this series. And you might just fall in love with it, the same way I did.
This was a decent finale to the series. I loved seeing everyone get a good resolution. The only thing that kept this from being 4 stars was the conflict. We had three books, so it would’ve made sense for the big bad enemy to be hinted at. Instead, we kind of just got random bad guys. Other than that, I actually did love this.
𝜗𝜚 tropes: reverse harem | paranormal fantasy | found family | slow burn 𝜗𝜚
i can’t tell if im upset or relieved that this series is over. seriously, it was a fucking emotional rollercoaster. i’m so relieved she has blood family that cares for her & i think it tied everything up well. i just hated where the story was going for so long.
also again, 7 fucking guys??? i mean, come on. that was kinda insane. i love the characters so it’s okay but im so frustrated. none of them got near enough time with her & understandably so. all in all, i am gonna miss them.

𝜗𝜚 quotes:
- Sabin looks around. “Um, shit, I don’t know. Whenever Torrez chuckles like that, I’ve just been calling dibs. It’s his I smell my horny mate laugh.”
- “What do you do when you feel fucked up and restless?” he asks me. I think about it for a minute. “I usually need to do something physical: run, fight, get stabby with something.”
- Two seconds later I’m left in a cloud of dust and man grunts, laughing my ass off. Maybe my vagina is more magical than I thought it was. Who knew?
- I too feel like Dory when she finds a squishy and declares that it’s hers. I just want to rub myself all over this shimmering barrier, call it my shiny, and announce that it’s now mine for forever.
- “It’s probably the opposite really,” I add. “Wouldn’t surprise me if a bunch of fucked up Lannister inbreeding shit is going down in these parts. That dude clearly has a screw loose.”
- “Which one of us do you think will get selected for the Triwizard Tournament?” Ryker teases, and more snickers sound off from the guys. “Not it,” Sabin calls out on a whisper. “I can’t fly a broom or fight a dragon,” he confesses straight faced, but his forest green eyes sparkle with amusement. “Can’t fly a broom?” Torrez asks with faux shock. “Even I can do that. You just got your wizard card revoked,” he announces like it’s a thing.
- Is this going to be me when I’m a billion years old? Just taunting anyone who walks by because I’m itching for a good match? I’m equally amused and horrified by that thought. I can just picture my Chosen shouting at me from the house, telling me to bring my wrinkled ass back in and stop taunting the neighborhood kids. Fuck it. Let’s go, Wrinkle in Time.
- “Bastien wanted you from the first punch, Sabin from the first ‘fuck you.’ Ryker fell the day you came back after cliff diving and told us about what happened with the shifters. Knox wanted you from the first time he ever saw you. Siah knew you were it when you offered your blood like it wasn’t a big deal; you saw him for him and not the monster others had spent his whole life seeing. You had Torrez from the minute you broke his jaw. Do you see a pattern here?”
- “It was about a cupid and these genfins which are like fairies or something. You should read it; you’d laugh your ass off,” Knox informs him, and Bastien shakes his head. “Don’t knock it before you try it. Sabin is the one who gave it to me.”
- “Careful, girl, don’t make me neuter those big lady balls you have.” I crack up, not able to help myself. Goals. Getta is goals. It’s official.
- “All hail Sovereign Aylin, Ruler of Tierit, Bond Restorer, Liberator of Illusions, the Found Sentinel, Collar Breaker, the Prime Marked, and Gate Keeper.”

This is a good final book in the series, although there are still a lot of unanswered questions; Vinna got a new rune on her throat during a fight that she couldn't/wouldn't process afterward or later when she thought about it again - we never find out what it does, Vinna promised Getta to bring Isaak's mate to her, but we never see that happen. Who is it? Why was this brought up as a serious moment if the author was not going to follow through on it? Then there is Vaughn and the hundreds of questions I am sure we all have about him and that situation.
It just felt like a lot of the action took place off page, especially with large time jumps scattered throughout the story. I also felt like the guys became pretty interchangeable here aside from Torres and Siah as they clearly have points of difference.
Maybe it was a bad idea to read the whole series back-to-back but Vinna started to get on my nerves in this book. She was way too horny; it seems like every couple pages she's referring to TGV and I felt that the joke was a bit overdone. The plot really ramps up in this book as there are a lot of things revealed which means that the characters take a bit more of a back seat. There are some great fight scenes and Vinna learns that she is more powerful as part of a team.
The conclusion was predictable but I wouldn’t have wanted it to end any other way. It sounds like there is a spinoff series which I might read one day, but for now, I think I need a break. Overall, this was a good strong series, with great characters and an interesting storyline.
A lot happens, there is quite a bit of action but there also seemed to be a lot of sex, more then the plot could truly handle I felt. We get to finally learn a bit about Sentinels but not as much as I had hoped. So this is supposed to be the last book in the series, the author plans are writing spin-offs in the same world but after finishing the book I don't feel like the series ended, in fact it even seems to have a sort of cliff hanger... I didn't really feel like all the threads were tied up either. In the end, I'm feeling a bit mixed, this just didn't seem like the last book in the series even though it's supposed to be.
I have read all of the books in the sentinel series. I read the other series. The bone witch the blood witch all of those and I really really enjoyed them. They were witty. They were laugh out loud.Funny in spots , they were very well written a bit cheeky , just fantastic reads. So I picked up this series.Fortunately i'm on kindle unlimited because if I had to pay for all of these books I would have been absolutely livid. I don't know who these would appeal to not young people and not me and i'm old. I stuck with it and read them all.Because I am not a quitter but boy it was not easy.
