Debra Adelaide has worked as a researcher, editor, and book reviewer, and has a PhD from the University of Sydney. She is presently a senior lecturer in creative writing at the University of Technology, Sydney, where she lives with her husband and three children.
I loved this authors descriptive detail, to the smaller simpler joys of life, and also the emotional depth of her story. Delia is a 37 yr old woman who is in the end-stages of breast cancer; this story tells of her past, and her attempts to find answers to past pains, and her need to build a certain kind of future for her two daughters. It is my understanding that this is the first of Ms. Adelaide's books to be published in the U.S.; I certainly hope more will be forthcoming.
It’s a great book, a story while sharing insights within a story. The title says it all. There is fun, recognation, witty, sad, love, anxiety, basically life and very well written.
