Best known as a gentle, hands-on healing technique for physical ailments, Reiki is also a holistic system that can be used for healing body, mind, emotions, and spirit. This accessible overview of Reiki addresses a wide range of topics, including the origins and development of Reiki as a healing system; what to expect when receiving a Reiki treatment; how Reiki treats both the symptoms and the causes of illness; and how to use Reiki for self-healing as well as for healing other people, animals, plants, and the environment. Practical exercises and visualizations designed to encourage relaxation and develop insight and energy awareness are also provided.

Really wonderful overview and introduction to Reiki. I've recently been learning about it from a friend who has completed Reiki Level 2. This book added to what she had told me and has encouraged me to take a Reiki Level 1 course in a couple of weeks. This book provides lots of info on the history and process of experiencing and learning Reiki. Great book for someone with an interest in Reiki or someone who wants to explore if Reiki 1 might be good for them.
This book is a good, basic overview of reiki. I'd recommend anyone to read this if they are interested in reiki but I'd also tell them to continue researching this topic more and read from various authors as well.
Quest is a clear, methodical writer, & while this book repeats much of what's been covered elsewhere, & is probably not the best intro to Reiki book on the market, it has merits as a general review. Covers some basic animal healing methods, protection methods & a simple 'get creative with Reiki' section. Her take on cleansing crystals was different than any other I've seen so far: use clear water: sunlight/ moonlight enhances any held negativity within the crystal.
Glanced through and used a few pages when doing a reiki class with a woman this month - in particular, the pages on how reiki can work in the various levels (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual).
I like this one for understanding Reiki. Finally got it. Made it a reasonable practice, not something wayyy out there. Still not sure about using Reiki though ;)
