Life as an omega can be pretty great. We’re pampered, cared for, and desired. Especially an omega who has a good pack. That’s not me, though. I’m flying solo. That’s why I started working at Allure —an exclusive omega-only club that caters to lonely alphas. The perfect place to meet a pack that will get me through my heat. Because it’s fast approaching, and I don’t want to face it alone. Not again. But should I pick the alphas that are perfect on paper… ...or let my heart decide?
Authors' note : Allure Part One is the first book in a sweet Why Choose Omegaverse duet. This book contains adult language, lots of knotty puns, and sexual situations not suitable for anyone under the age of 18.
A scientist at heart, T.S. Snow lives in a land far far away, secluded from most authors and readers (rumor has it that if you open your wardrobe you can find her hiding in there trying to take a nap). T.S. has a thirst for learning new languages, even if she is mostly worried about finding out new curse words in them. She has an amazing support system that include a loving boyfriend, her family, friends and her loyal - if completely lazy - dog. When she's not writing, T.S. can often be found causing complete chaos with her friends on social media, inhaling unhealthy amounts of coffee, or napping. Mostly napping.
I think in this instance splitting Allure into a duet was an injustice. The upside is that both books were released together but the first book was a complete filler for the goodness I hope to follow.
I appreciated the quirkiness and uniqueness of this Omegaverse romance. Where we are all familiar with the gorgeous Omega and perfect Alphas, it was refreshing that this wasn't the case; and it was standout.
I almost started growling again. She was a beautiful omega, even if she didn’t look like other omegas and couldn’t dance for shit. Surely, other alphas had taken notice of her?
Amy aka Bubbles is an unmated Omega on the verge of her mating heat. Without a pack, options are limited, however she wants to make choices on her own terms. Presently working as a stripper at an upscale club, Amy is now presented with a few viable opportunities.
Construction workers, huh? I loved me a good, strong alpha who knew what to do with his hands.
Pack Knight are the blue-collar Alphas who don’t sit within the elite. This makes finding an Omega to complete their pack trickier because it’s all about money and stature. Yet a membership to a new club introduces 5 perfectly imperfect mates.
An Omega who doesn’t fit the mould, and decadent heroes desperate for a chance with the girl. I know that this story will be great, but the story building took up this entire book. I imagine I’ll be more excited about the conclusion!
Gosh, it was not good. Pages and pages of absolutely endless and totally unnecessary descriptions of irrelevant things and secondary characters which did nothing for the story.
No-one needs to read 5 pages of details about a renovation job if that's only used as a plot device to bring our characters together. Seriously, it was tedious.
I don't get how the writers don't understand that if something doesn't play a role in the story, it can be edited out. This book could have been 2/3 shorter.
Only the good name of Colette Rhodes made me finish this, I couldn't skim fast enough. Don't know if I'll have the energy for book 2.
Allure Part 1 had so many aspects I love in omegaverse (all the growling, purring, nesting, and instincts) also paired with loads of sweetness, humor, and an uncertain vulnerability for the main characters. I’m also so happy the authors chose to release both parts of the duet on the same day so no waiting for the second part and the HEA. Bubbles/Amy (h) is a somewhat awkward omega who strips at Allure and both prizes being independent while also being afraid to hope a pack will want her. The Knight Pack (Hs - Kaito, Arata, Zach, and Cole) are blue collar alphas who’ve been overlooked for more well-off packs and who visit Allure and are immediately walloped when they see Bubbles. Written in first person, multi-POV. No ow drama, a touch of om drama (a wealthy pack also shows interest in Bubbles but this isn’t a love triangle or whatever shape that’d be), none of the characters are virgins (but h has never been with alphas and they’ve never been with an omega which I loved), I don’t remember it bc was mentioned.
While book 1 more introduces the characters and sets up what I’m sure will be more relationship development in book 2, there was still nice development for each of the main characters. I really liked how Amy’s Brazilian and inclusion of little details about her culture. I loved how she interacted with and responded differently to each of the guys, who each stood out distinctly (Zach is probably my favorite with his anxious but adorable self). This is a really balanced pack and Amy fits in so well with them. But there is a tension of questioning if she’ll want them for her heat and then whether it’ll only be for that or if they can keep her as their omega. There’s a touch of steam but this is a slow burn with no full-on sex in this first book.
The side characters are really important in the book with Amy’s aunts Raquel and Lu offering her long distance support (her parents are dead) and Amy’s boss at the club, Roxy, sort of offering support but also being shady. Roxy’s pushing Amy towards another pack (her brother’s pack, who I’m intrigued by for their own potential story cause clearly Amy belongs to Pack Knight).
The story ends on a bit of a cliffhanger (no one in danger) and Amy’s heat starting.
I’ll start off by saying that I really enjoyed it a lot and it hit the spot. It ends on a cliffhanger but thankfully the second one is available and I will be reading that immediately.
Even though I liked it, I still want to rant a little bit. What was up with those guys leaving her with questions! And uncertainty!? Seriously, what person wouldn’t feel confused by the lukewarm actions?
Thankfully, I got to see inside the guys’ heads, but still.
Also, why is it that “working men” packs never have the nest prepared while the billionaire packs are already ready!? I know they have more money but four guys have plenty of money between them to do stuff.
Also, what’s with packs that contain siblings!? Colette Rhodes has done this before but I cannot understand why you would want to share an intimate partner with a sibling. Even in an alternate universe (omegaverse).
But I loved all the guys and felt like the authors did a great job at giving all of them separate and distinct personalities and voices. It was a lot of fun. There is still so much I don’t know about them or her so I’m hoping for more convos and not just sexy times in the second book.
Will poor Pack Carmichael get their own book. Poor eager guys. They tried so hard.
4.5 stars simply because of the guys. They are utter cinnamon rolls and honestly our girl Amy is too. Cole is absolutely adorable and so is Zach. Kaito and Arata are cute as well. They all have different personalities but they are all sweethearts. It was so good. Just don’t get why Roxy (her boss) is so dead set on setting Amy up with Roxy’s brother. My biggest issue with this rn is why is this a duet? It should have been one book. Doesn’t really make sense to end it where it ended it.
It was a cuddly sweet omegaverse read, and I enjoyed the men and slow-burn relationships, but the 24-year-old omega FMC Amelia/Amy was a little too shallow and ditzy for my taste. We never really learned much about her or her normal personality because she was pretty much awkward and horny the whole time due to her pre-heat. It seemed like she was a bit socially isolated growing up in Brazil since I didn't get the impression that she really knew how to live on her own or talk to people.
As another review noted, this story seemed like it was a book that belonged in the middle of a series. The club's omega owner Roxy and her Pack Kennedy were pretty important characters, and why Roxy decided to hire Amy for the club and give her private tutoring lessons seemed to be missing detail. From the story, Amy was a terrible dancer and didn't have the usual curves for a stripper, which made it questionable why she was hired in the first place. I also couldn't figure out why Roxy insisted that Amy was such a good match for her rich alpha brother's pack when there were plenty of other unmated omega dancers in her club.
The book ended with Amy's heat truly starting, and I am still interested in seeing how the relationships end up in the next book even though I thought this book was just okay. I would recommend it for those that just want to read about a low-angst sweet omegaverse between a slightly atypical omega and alphas. ------ Ratings - completed series: #1 Allure: Part One (this book): ★★★☆☆ #2 Allure: Part Two: ★★★☆☆
4.5 stars. So far I’m really enjoying this duet. I love all the characters. Cole is adorable, with his golden retriever, puppy-like excitement and hope. Zach is so fucking cute with his awkwardness, and how he stumbles over words when he’s around ‘Bubbles’. Arato is smooth and calming and sexy as hell. And Kaito is grumpy and I love Amy’s(‘Bubbles’) nickname for him.
This is one of those times I’m actually ok with it being a slow burn. Things are just moving perfectly, and all the flirting and the tension, and then the couple of moments where it spiked into just a little bit more…it all felt perfectly paced.
I can’t wait to see what happens next. I’m hoping it’s steamy as all fuck. I’m also hoping Amy’s boss backs the fuck off and doesn’t take thing too far… I have a terrible feeling that it’s gonna get worse in that situation before it gets better.
This was a fun and interesting read more relationship focused than anything else. It was a nice change of pace to some of the crazy thrillers and fast paced reads I’ve been into lately. While the storyline was slow going, I didn’t find it tedious and actually found it more adorable than anything. Amy is an Omega stripper at a shifter club and hopelessly wants to find her own pack, particularly before her next neat if possible. When the guys describe Amy dancing, I kinda fell in love with her myself. According to them she can’t dance for shit but her enthusiasm and passion for dancing makes it work for her. As someone who also can’t dance a muscle or find a beat, it was refreshing because she really gives her all. As for her harem (4), she’s kinda being courted by two. Heat is approaching and the two packs couldn’t be more different if they tried. While she does decide in the very end, the romance is again really sloooooow going and while there’s some 3rd base moments happening there’s not been a single (live and without batteries) knot yet. I absolutely love her chosen pack though, they’re perfect for her. By perfect I mean just as chill, wild and unlucky as her so it’s really a perfect match. There’s also no dated mate bonds but rather a choice between all involved, something I think will happen almost right away in the next book cause it’s ‘bout to go down 🔥🔥🔥 Her guys are also just so obsessed with her from the beginning I loved it. It was like a highschool crush, fumbling mumbling and nervous as hell all because they want to please her but the universe keeps testing them. Luckily I don’t think they have to worry, Amy is crushing on them just as hard. Really fun read but I’m ready for spice and a HEA now!
I really enjoyed this story. It’s very sweet and low drama, yet still has a good amount of tension that kept me on the edge of my seat. The writing is well done and there is a good mix of humor. I like that omegas have a semblance of freedom in this universe and are giving opportunities outside of being in arranged marriages. It’ll be interesting to see how part II develops. I’m an ARC reader so I don’t have access to that yet (I’m dying lol) but for the live release both parts are coming out at the same time so the rest of you all don’t have to live with a cliff-hanger like I do 🤣🤣
It did read like the second book in a series of standalones though, if that makes sense. I feel like Roxy and her pack would have been the first with this being like a spin off of their story? It just felt a bit like we should have already known them (I had to look it up after I finished to see if there was another story in the same universe). So, I would like to see a prequel story about them and how they met.
Dnf 73% (skimmed to the end) I recently made it a goal to not dnf books and I swear I tried, but I just can't do it.
How these authors were able to make an rh into a love triangle, I don't know. Isn't that what rh is supposed to prevent ... The female doesn't have to choose? It's worse than that though with the pressure Roxy is putting on Amelia.
You have these working class men (not really because they own their own construction company, but not billionaires by any means) pining for this omega. They've been passed up before because they're not super rich. Amy is the omega they want and are putting themselves out there for, but she's also being pursued by her bosses' brothers pack, who are very wealthy. Not only do both these packs want her, but she just announced that she's not really looking for anything long term.
** Also, none of the characters really had alpha specific characteristics or beta characteristics. The omegas perfumed and had heats and nested, but they weren't like submissive or anything (which honestly isn't a bad thing) **
This is a train wreck in progress and I have to jump off the tracks!
Super sweet omegaverse. Optimistic, people pleasing omega meets sexy construction worker alpha pack. Both have issues of self-worth or confidence, so there is a lot of holding back in order not to rock the boat.
This is a quiet, sweet, and sexy story. There is no real big conflict to overcome and the protagonist is just not that big of a deal. The authors kept building tension that never came to an interesting point. Just everyday problems of people with issues creating a relationship.
Fun and enjoyable low conflict read with sexy alphas. Reverse harem, no m/m.
In the beginning of this story I was really invested and couldn't put it down but I started realizing that I was slowly losing interest in what was happening. I decided to DNF because it started to feel like I was forcing myself to read instead of actually enjoying what I was reading and I would rather read a story that I can enjoy and that can keep my interest.
I love this story! This is a sweet omegaverse romance. Amy is fun, bubbly, and a ray of sunshine. She has some insecurities but mostly just embraces life and embodies joy in everything she does. She has adorably awkward moments that are endearing.
Pack Knight is full of unique alphas who may not fit the stereotypical alpha personalities, but they are intelligent, hard-working, and full of devotion and adoration that’s just waiting for the omega that is the perfect fit. It’s a bit heartbreaking to realize that they’ve been passed over, as they are all successful in their business and have a lot to offer. It becomes obvious as we read that they were meant to be with Amy and just had to wait until the stars aligned so their paths could cross.
Of course, there is conflict to drive the plot forward but it isn’t dark or overly anxiety-inducing. Amy’s boss, whom she has a lot of respect for, had other ideas for the right pack for Amy and while they seem nice and fit the typical alpha profile, they don’t grab Amy’s attention in the same way as Pack Knight. Other little things seem to get in the way of Amy and the pack making a connection, but there are just as many instances that push them together. There is a bit of spice that is 🥵🥵🥵 and I can’t wait to see where things go next!
This is part one of a duet and the second part is already available!
No joke. I was giggling and grinning and unexpectedly laughing out loud all the way through this book. These characters are all so incredibly awkward, sweet, funny, human. I enjoyed every interaction, even the ones fraught with insecurities and a mild bit of tension. There was delicious sexual chemistry right from the start. Our fmc Amy (stage name Bubbles) is such a cool, down to earth and relatable girl. I would be great friends with her in real life. The guys are sexy, sweet, hopeful and hopeless. Like I said, everything was worth grinning and giggling over. Hats off to this author duo for their combined awesomeness and an extra special THANK YOU for releasing both parts of the duet together. You ladies ROCK!
A duet by two authors that I've read the books of before and live. I've been on a Colette Rhodes binge recently and have read some by T.S. Snow. Nice plot and pacing. Love dthe different personalities of the men. Zack is so cute and shy, Cole is totally playful and energetic, Arata is the smooth and hot one, and his twin Kaito is the grumpy one. I loved their different reactions and thoughts to Amy. The two pack competition type thing was weird though. I'm reading Part 2 for the sake of seeing Pack Knight come together with their omega.
I debated whether to rate this 3 or 4 stars. I think the only reason I chose 3.5/4 is because I like Colette Rhodes so much as an author. I’m trying to hold off a judgement until after I read the second part of the duet, but it’s difficult. I’m barely interested enough to force myself to read part two.
⭐️⭐️✨ set-up is promising: an awkward bubbly stripper and a pack of hot blue collar alphas on the hunt!
I read the preview that came out a year ago or so and had this on my TBR, excited to see what came of it. the follow through was a let down and the result felt phoned in, like many of the ubiquitous Omegaverse coming out rn. see my attached highlighted quotes for examples. I had to push myself to finish as I was sure it would get going but it never really did for me. hoping my next OV hits the spot a bit better! 🤞🏻
I truly wonder if I’m meant for cowrites. I loved Colette’s solo work but yikes, I skimmed 60% of this book in the beginning just to get things moving. And oh my GOD the exclamation points. Please make them stop.
OBVI I need to read book 2 because of where this left off but yeesh I don’t know if I’ll ever read anything Snow writes solo. There was just something ~off~ about all these characters, and I really really want to like them so, fingers crossed.
We’ll see how I feel after I finish this duet but ugh this whole book is kind of annoying.
Amy is a sweet, bubbly FMC. I love her slightly awkwardness. The guys are alphas, but also slightly geeky and awkward. I especially loved Zach and Cole. Kaito doesn’t really get as much time, as he is more the silent type, but he does open up more as the story progresses. Arata is sweet, and felt more like a leader to me. I’m so happy that part 2 is out already and I can go download it right away :) j
So I get that this is part one of a part two and it was definitely supposed to be there to get to know you book but I’m gonna be honest I enjoy the MMC all four of them but the FMC is not that great and she’s kind of whiny and I wasn’t a huge fan of her boss Roxy yeah not a fan of her. She’s kind of the worst and I understand that supposed be the point, but it took away a lot for me in the book in the book.
I’m a fan of tall girl Amy and the Knight pack. Zach is adorable and is 100% my fave, with all his anxiety. Cole has all that obsessive lovesick fool energy and reminds me a bit of Rake from Lola and the Millionaires. Arata is the chillest optimistic peacemaker.Kaito is obvs gonna be the last one we really get to know because he’s got his grumpy demeanor down. Looking forward to part 2!
I usually enjoy T.S. Snow and Colette Rhodes books, but I felt like this one didn't hit the mark. It missed the edginess and sassiness that you usually find in their books.
Amy dances in a strip club where all the dancers are omegas, and alphas come to see them. Her heat is getting closer so she hopes she can get a pack to help her through it, and she meets two packs–one perfect on paper who could give her everything and one not so perfect but from which Amy can't stay away.
I felt like the attraction among Kaito, Cole, Arata and Zach and Amy was there, but there wasn't much story around it.
"This woman was, hands down, the worst dancer I had ever seen in my life. I couldn’t look away."
Run, don't walk. It's a double release! I don't know if the words just flowed and Rhoads and Snow cranked out two books in the time of one or if they planned on this double release, but consider it a gift to be able to binge read it until it's finished. I know that's what I'm about to do.
If you're looking for an omegaverse that is low drama, a bit of humor, and on the sweeter side of things, this one is perfect for you. So far, no major issues and the men are all dedicated to the fmc, Amy/Bubbles. You get personalities ranging from the golden retriever, to the shy and awkward, to the flamboyant flirt, to the gruffer, standoffish guy, but overall the guys give such a positive vibe when it comes to Amy and how they feel about her. For a fmc with such bubbly and outgoing personality, they all seem to work well together, even in instances when you think they would clash.
Insecurities are something that come into play in this duet on both sides. It was interesting to see a pack of alphas be something besides the regular businessmen or rich, elite group. Blue collar all the way, living a much simpler and humble life than a lot of alphas discussed in this book, Pack Knight has been glanced over more than once because an interested omega found a different pack that could provide them with a more extravagant life. The same thing has gone on with Amy. Being on the taller side and having a more lean, beta-built body type, she has had more petite and curvy omegas chosen over herself time and time again. The question of being worthy enough or if they will be disappointed comes up in the most vulnerable of times. Will this time be different?
This book evoked a rollercoaster of emotions, and not in a good way. I kept having a strong negative reaction to some of the characters. But I pushed through and finished it. Hooray. Overall, it wasn't bad, but I have a lot to complain about… I never stopped this much while reading a book, but the first few chapters weren't to my liking, so I had to stop and force myself to stop being a nitpicker and acknowledge that people, even fictional ones, come in different fonts.
Here's how it went. Chapter Two: This is our first introduction to Amy, the Omega's first POV, and tell me, tell you she has been talking about her boobs for a while now, and I really hope she will stop... In the next chapter, we found out she is actually a bad dancer. And in her next POV, Miss Bubbles apparently noticed that most dancers were out of sync 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️… Hmm, is her character supposed to be a dim-witted version of Bubbles from the Powerpuff Girls? I don't know; I'm really not vibing with this book. Having a strong aversion to an FM from the get-go is unprecedented to me; I'm going to give this another two to three chapters to see if I can get over it; otherwise, I'll just drop it… Ok, we passed the hurdle. It got better. Roxie and her alpha attitude are eyebrow-raising. Did they really try to sabotage her first date, or did I imagine that? Why were the guys acting nonchalant in front of Amy? I understand not pressuring her, but they should have been upfront and proactive. They are courting her after all. Making her feel insecure and anxious isn't the way to go.
I liked the spin of an Omega stripping. It’s different than any other. The fmc was bubbly and excited to put her whole energy towards her job that allows her to be independent. I felt uncomfortable for the fmc when she was put on the spot when her boss was trying to convince her to take her brothers pack out for some Heat “fun”. I loved the different povs. The guys were all the classic types. The broody twin, the exact opposite twin, the charming guy, and the shy/quiet guy. I do feel like the fmc got the short end of the stick though because even tho the guys have a great excuse for an awful first date that they were severely late too, the didn’t do much to balance it out without something overly abundant sweep you off your feet kinda gesture. Not even messaging after a few of them had some heated moments the morning after, which is the only reason why I rated it a 4*. The chemistry was hot and you could definitely feel it coming off the pages in waves. Who doesn’t fantasize about a sexy muscled construction worker, sans shirt, with low slung jeans and a work belt that hung low enough to see the V cut on a man’s stomach. Or hot males with no shirt on (muscles galore) with sexy grey low hung sweatpants. This heat is gonna be glorious, but the flip side that she chose someone other than her brother, her boss Roxy is gonna be P i i i s s s s s s s e d! There’s gonna be some drama for this poor omega fmc and I hope she holds her own!
