Many of the earliest books, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. We are republishing these classic works in affordable, high quality, modern editions, using the original text and artwork.
We read the Riverbend Press edition. Their books are beautiful.
I don't really remember when we began this - two years or more ago. We read bits during Morning Time, inserting a section when we finished a chapter in Charlotte Mason's Ourselves. It was interesting to see the connections between architectural movements and music movements with my kids who are musical. I learned a lot about the what and why of different architectural features and how they fit into any given historical period.
Not an absolute necessity, but a delightful serving in the feast.
