This easy readers is a book that first graders could read independently. It tells the story of a little girl that does not give up and tries again to balance on the balance beam. Not the highest quality of text, but a good intro into the topic of balance as well as a simple example of balance- gymnastics.

Great little easy reader to remind you that when you are down get back up. A great book about friendship.

Holiday House Publishing website said, "this book is aligned with the COMMON CORE STATE STANDARDS for kindergarten and first grade in Phonics and Word Recognition, as well as in Fluency, and in first grade Print Concepts." I would think it would appeal to grades PK-1. Appealing to girls with the leotard-clad young gymnasts. The story is short and simple but offers age-appropriate lessons in kindness, sportsmanship, and how important it is to try, try again. This easy reader can be used with lessons involving self-esteem, determination, and friendship.

I'm guessing some may think this book is a tad forced, but I have a daughter who all of a sudden was fearful of trying things, and this would have been the perfect book to share with her.

A cute and simple read-it-yourself book. Just right for a first grader to read, a little simple to read to a three-year old (at least a sophisticated story reader).

It's a simple book that didn't frustrate my Kindergartener when I had him sound out some of the words. The message to keep trying and not give up is always a good one to emphasize.
