Worm in the Blood introduces Sam Lim-Evans, a 14-year old boy preoccupied with ordinary teenaged problems until he finds his life transformed by a mysterious birthright, something that has lain dormant within the very fabric of his DNA, until now. How Sam tries to cope with these involuntary changes forms the heart of a story that balances brooding realism with painful fantasy, to powerful effect.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book and I found it quite a page turner as Sam begins to feel something changing within him, coming alive. The chapters are written from different character perspectives which helps to increase the tension and like all good thrillers secrets are slowly unravelled bit by bit until all is revealed at the end. A great read for young teenagers.
This book is a really exciting read as it drags you in and each chapter is written beautifully. However I didn't like how it jumped from charactor to charactor so it strayed me a bit, muddling me up. It is a great plot with masses of potential but didnt impress me hugely. Good power read though
I was given this book and I like a random read. It kept me in just enough. I liked the idea that the whole dragon thing is a metaphor but I think I'm bringing my own ideas to that.
