The continuing story of Sam Lim-Evans, a fourteen-year-old in the grip of a terrible transformation. Half-boy, half-scaly-winged dragon, Sam tries desperately to cling on to his fading humanity, with near-disastrous results. But even hiding out in the depths of rural Ireland, Sam cannot escape the attentions of a sinister and powerful enemy. When people close to him start to disappear, the wheels are set in motion for a confrontation that will end with fire and destruction in a remote medieval church in the English countryside. The action swings from the south of Ireland to Bosnia, from North Wales to East London, and the story shifts in time from 1987 to the present day in this exciting follow-up to Worm in the Blood.
I didn't realise this was the 2nd book out of 3, I read it as a stand alone book and really enjoyed it . I picked it up as a quick read not expecting too much being a tween/kids book merely curious about the concept , ended up thoroughly enjoying it , I loved the short quick 'chapters' jumping from different characters narratives which kept several intermingled storylines moving quickly along as had the story dwelled too long on one character I probably would've got bored of them. Found myself so drawn in at the end that the finale took me by surprise ! I would read the other books now that I know there's more however I don't feel the need to go out looking for them asap as like I said this book read well as a stand alone novel.
Mais um volume super interessante e bem escrito por Thomas Bloor e quase que me dá pena de ser tão curto, pois é demasiado rápido para mim, em termos de personagens e sei que é dirigido a uma população juvenil, mas tem potencial para mais.
