Just when I think things are starting to look up...I manage to get myself kidnapped.
All I want to do is figure out how the hell to get home. But instead, I’ve been shot out of the sky, netted, half drowned, and now I’ve been taken to Kestrel City, home of the Avowed.
The Hidden claim the Avowed are the enemy, but I’m about to learn nothing is ever just black and white. Well, except maybe for my gryphon.
I need to keep Pigeon and her wandering eye on a tight leash. Which is a hell of a lot easier said than done. She has an appetite for assholes and secrets, and there’s plenty of both flying around here.
Can I keep my head down, my wings folded, and Pigeon in check long enough to find the answers I’ve been looking for?
I sure as fuck hope so, but it’s not looking so good.
Ivy Asher is addicted to chai, swearing, and laughing a lot (but not in a creepy, laughing alone kind of way). She loves the snow, books, and her family of two humans, and three fur-babies. She has worlds and characters just floating around in her head, and she's lucky enough to be surrounded by amazing people who support that kind of crazy.
The Avowed was so freaking good. I was definitely hesitant to dive into this book because I just didn't want to suffer through it. Yet, I found the courage to dive into it. Oh lord, I was not disappointed guys.
I will forever be in love with Falon/Pigeon. They are completely hilarious and make me laugh from start to finish. The only thing I wish for the next book is for things to not drag anymore. I just want to know what is going on and it's killing me. Heck, everything leading up ending was intense. Now I am so confused and I want all my guys to be okay because I have no idea what I would do if they weren't.
I can’t wait until May! I want part 3 now please. Talk about witty characters ❤️. The characters were way less annoying in book 2. I loved everyone except for Loa’s bitch ass. The easy friendship she made with the guards was amazing. I love how they turned out to be hilarious and real. Treno was hot, caring, lovable, playful with all the essentials for a good book boyfriend. Ryn was still likable but not as much as he was before Treno showed up on the scene. We didn’t get much of Zeph but he was way less douchy. I thought Lazzo was a potential love interest but after that last move... I’m going to cross him out of the line up. There would need to be 4 books to overcome that crap. I almost forgot to mention the world building. I loved the natural yet refined living spaces. Overall, I enjoyed book 2 more than book 1.
3.5-4 stars. Wow this series has me so absorbed, which is super irritating since I have to keep waiting for the next books to come out. We still don't have any clear answers though it seems like we are dragging more and more people down with us. I am continuing to love Falon and her and Pigeon's interactions are hilarious. Especially with some of the more modern references as well as the Top Gun soundtrack addition. I was dying really. I am a little confused as to why its taking so long for them to really become in sync but I like the dynamic because it makes sense that this entity after being trapped so long inside Falon would have a mind of its own and it would take time to develop a working relationship.
While Falon spends her time in this book with the Avowed. I love how she goes into it without any preconceived notions or prejudices. I still don't understand why exactly the war is going on and why she was spirited away to the human world, nor what her family was thinking by suppressing her. When will all this come to light? I also don't quite understand/remember why the Ouphe (sp) this race? is still a little unclear for me maybe that will clear up as time marches on.
This story is really getting to the nitty gritty and that cliffhanger was all kinds of irritating since I have to wait to continue the story. Can't wait to see where this is headed.
I really enjoyed this one, but I’m annoyed with the lack of information Falon is getting about this world, and Gryphons in general. We see Falon get close with Zeph, but then something happens and we see Falon leave and try to get back to the gate. Instead she ends up with the Avowed as the name implies. And from there we learn quite a bit more about her, her mom and dad, and the guys surrounding her lately.
Cliffhanger ends suck though when the book finally gets going.
Despite being disappointed with the first book, I was still curious about the story - so with this being on KU I decided to give this book a try to see if it got any better.
Unfortunately Falon and Pigeon still seem to have a juvenile relationship that is annoying most of the time; the guys continue keeping secrets from Falon (and she can't put 2 and 2 together based on things they've said and ask the right questions); the actual plot doesn't seem to progress much, it's more filler and introducing a few new characters that we don't really get to know too much about - I didn't mind the new love interest, but things seemed rushed there and I didn't feel like they had much quality time together...
And like the first book, this one also ends in cliffhanger. Note: you don’t need to end books on a cliffhanger. Most authors can close out a particular book’s arc without falling back on a cliffhanger, while leaving the overall series arc progressing. With both book 1 and 2 ending on cliffhangers, i'm assuming any further books in this series would be the same.
I don't think i'll be continuing with this series.
Poorly written, and over the top swearing. Cuss words are cool but it's like she has to do it in every sentence. It's very repetitive. The story is too short to be considered a real book.
This book blew me away. I finished this book in one sitting, it was that good. The feels this books me was everything. The characters are amazing and the lies, betrayal and the sex damn. The ending omfg I’m at a loss for words. I need the next book asap.
So I'm liking this heroine less and less. I do feel for her because everyone is keeping her in the dark for their own reasons. Part of her troubles are her fault due to her impulsiveness, but not all. These are fairly short, so I'm going to continue on with the story and see where this cliffhanger ending leads.
But the world building is so confusing. I don't understand a lot of what is going on, between the mating, the flashback dreams, her dreams with Zeph. Why him? Rather, why only him? Why didn't she get the warm fuzzies when she met Treno? And the whole Loa thing, I thought it was from jealousy, not what it end up being.... I'm not really sold on this series.
That cliffy at the end!? What the WHAT!?!? Too freaking invested in this series. Seriously, missed work, reading on my lunch break, staying up entirely past my bed time! Gah Ivy what the heck have you done!! Best series I’ve encountered since Bonds that Tie, and I read that one cover to cover at least 5 times a year!! This series here!! The entire set will be on my fav re-read list!! If you haven’t started with the first series WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!! Seriously!! So much action, lots of smutty scenes… yummy. So many secrets to discover!! Happy reading friends!
I adored this book! Falon finally gets some answers, though far from the whole story, while the picture of this complicated world is starting to become clear. In enjoyed the interactions of the characters, but was confused as to where Falon fit in the story. I would love some more background on her parents, and what they did to her as a child to hide her.
For me, Falon is easy to relate with in how she's lost and confused in this new world. Yet she's trying to be strong while also being drawn to these guys. We get some memories of her past in this book along with more information on the war/tension between the Avowed and the Hidden. We also get more Pigeon being both good and bad because Pigeon IS Pigeon in the end.
The mix of humor (I laughed hysterically at many parts), action, tension, and steam was just right for me. The story does end on a cliffhanger and yes, I am desperate for the next book already.
I liked this a lot better than the first. I had expectations that the first would be a lot more closely linked with the Lost Sentinel series but its only the same world and nothing more. Still waiting on those answers I was promised too.
Otherwise, now I know where this is set I'm just enjoying the story of Falon.
So is Treno also one of her mates? Or like is it a ploy? Like whats happening. They all still suck. Absolutely reshuffle the deck because this cannot be it.
However, i love that they showed the Wekun guy from Vinna’s world. Love the connection.
I think is i would have read this prior to the sentinel world then i would have enjoyed this more.

Hmmmm... We now have a 3rd guy in the mix. I'm as in the dark as Falon is about what is happening. But, nevertheless, I'm still curious to find out what happens next. Will grab book 3 when it comes out.
Another cliffhanger but what a wild ride. Falon gets to see how the Avowed live. It doesn't seem so bad but there is probably horrible things going on that she doesn't see. Even so, she meets her third mate, Treno. He is definitely the sweetest but Ryn gives really good presents. Zeph is still on my shit list but their dream meetings are more favorable.
What a gripping book! Had me on the edge of my chair toward the end. That traitor I did not see coming! Hopefully karma has her way and that traitor ends up pushing up daisies. I can’t wait to read the finale!
The Avowed by Ivy Asher is a fast-paced, emotionally charged ride with a strong heroine and an intriguing magic system. The world-building is vivid, and the chemistry between characters keeps the pages turning. While a few plot points felt a bit rushed, the story delivers on action, angst, and suspense. A solid addition to the series that leaves you eager for more!
I do enjoy these books we are not getting very far. It’s a cycle of not quite too stupid to live choices but make better choices girl . Along with new information that’s not really all that new , with pages and pages of ooh I’m so betrayed monologue and angry blind angst. Making our h a little unlikeable . Repeated throughout the book . A little exhausting and not all that enjoyable.
Unreal. This series is absolutely and utterly fascinating and enthralling. I was hooked since the first sentence in book one and have been hooked with every word since. This ending is EPIC. I was struggling to breathe the entire last portion of the book. The drama. The emotion. The chaos. This book paints an intense and beautiful movie in my head. Every scene is so detailed and the characters are to die for. It's just one generation after another making the same mistakes their predecessors made. I am shaking from adrenaline and my mind is trying to connect so many different dots! Standing ####### ovation!
My god this book! I feel like it had been awhile since I read the first book so reread it and then dove into this one. I devoured them both. These are some of the sexiest books I’ve ever read. There’s something about being claimed and having a mate that I love, and Fallon has multiples. 😉
The avowed is action packed and so well written. We are pulled into another world completely and the details are amazing. The emotions that we see from Falon I feel are emotions we would feel ourselves if in the same situations. She is strong but can also be vulnerable.
I am here for this series!! Can’t wait to finish reading this trilogy!
Well for all the trash I talked on the first book-here I am reading the second 😂 I mostly continued on to see how the female lead dealt with finally realizing that the jerks she has been lusting after getting busy with are in fact
We also get a look at, and a little more info on the baddies and a new love interest. My previous gripes about the horny monologues still stand – but the writing, and plot are fast paced so I may read on just to see how it ends with her and the results of the cliffhanger["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
I somewhat understand what’s going on but I still have a lot of questions. It’s not like this is a bad read I’m just sick and frustrated with the female lead. She’s just so stupid and whiny and makes it where I don’t know if I can continue this. Furthermore I think it’s interesting that she’s in a completely different world and yet they use the same dirty slang? Idk it’s like there’s flipping back and forth about the language used, like there is a point made that there are different words then it’s like the author forgot she was writing a shifter/new world theme and then there talking the way one would in the current present. I’m not sure how I’m feeling about this book.
Hmm.. Okay ..Let me first say that I liked this series and this second book even more, although why only 17 chapters? I want MORE! I loved that it takes place in the same universe as badass Vinna's The Lost and the Chosen!
Now to the commentary:
-Fucking Isaak!!! He's being haunting me since Kung fu Panda Granny Getta said to Vinna that she knows his mate and then we got NOTHING!!!!! And now he's Zeph's freakin' DEAD BROTHER? They slit his throat in front of a hell of lot of crowd and we know he's fine back in Tierit.. For a minute there in the end the thought that Falon is now somehow gonna end up in Tierit crossed my mind. I'm not gonna lie. Also, I wouldn't hate it, even though she'll be separated from her mates, because we'd get Vinna's help. (What? Call me delusional but it is her job now!)
-She's Sentinel/Gryphon Hybrid and she got her runes even earlier than Vinna (which WOW) but her dad suppressed them and they resurfaced now with the mating bond from Treno. Where I'm getting is that while Vinna was a Bond Weaver; Falon is a Bond Breaker plus all the above, so I'm really really hoping for her to be badass in the next few books, either by going in Tierit and guidance from people there or finding the other Ouphe there and mastering her skills with their help.
-I'm pretty sad about the whole "betraying Treno" situation. It's like a huge misunderstanding and it's really frustrating. I need it fixed ASAP
-Ugh that tsundere Zeph....he saved her!!? He would have saved her and everyone else the trouble and heartache if he'd told her from the beginning about the whole mate thing!!!! (secretly every time he calls her little sparrow my heartbeat speeds up..shhhh)
-Ryn is okay I guess..Here's to knowing more about the characters in the next few books!!
*flies away in a corner rocking away the mistake of starting an unfinished series*

Sooo Treno was fun and a relief that we finally got a nice fucking love interest.
But I realized Falon kind of annoys me and I don’t like her relationship with Ryn and Zeph they all feel a little too comfortable putting hands on one another. The amount of times she just hits them really bothered me like I know they are different creatures etc but yea I did not like that.
Then her being naked every 5 seconds gets annoying and repetitive.
I don’t really fuck with Pigeon either, and their scenes of “banter” are for sure something…
Also Falon has the humor of a 12 year old boy and was icking me out 😭.
THE WAKANDA THING I ALMOST SHUT THE BOOK
I say all this but overall like it’s fun and low stakes. The actual problem in this world I could barely tell you like what the fuck are they fighting for who knows but I shall be continuing.
I adored this book, maybe more than book 1! She finally gets some answers, though far from the whole story, while the picture of this complicated world is starting to become clear. In enjoyed the interactions of the characters, though, tbh, there were moments I wanted to shake my head at Falon and her deliberate ignorance.... I mean, come on! But now that veil is gone and I can’t wait to see what happens in book 3!
First person, single POV, fantasy medium burn RH, cliffhanger. Rating = mature. MMMF Character age range = 25+
Pros: - Very well written. - Character dynamics. - Pigeon! - things are starting to make sense.
This is 2nd book in shadowed wings tribology. This is a paranormal fantasy. . I fucking hated it. I was so frustrated.... There are so many issues. First book was all about her ignorance and her lack of awareness. . In this book she's aware that she needs answers but 80% of the book is spent with her inner monologues with her animal that are completely useless and add nothing to the plot. Plus her animal is mating with one guy after the other but apparently boys in this world think it is a great idea to keep her ignorant deliberately and have a good fuck. It was so senseless that I have been contemplating to continue the series.
