The Alpha course is a great way to find out more about Christianity. Now the Alpha Bible In One Year offers you a practical way to get to know the Bible better. Starting in January, the whole Bible is divided up into easy daily readings to take you through the year. With an introduction and daily online commentary from Alpha founder Nicky Gumbel, reading the Alpha Bible In One Year is designed to be a community experience that will inspire and equip you in building lifelong faith on firm foundations. Millions of people around the world have benefited from the Alpha course, a ten week practical introduction to the Christian faith. The course, which is run in all the main Christian denominations, offers an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in an informal and relaxed setting. The NIV is the world's most popular Bible in modern English. It is widely regarded as the most readable and accurate translation available.

I read this year with the Bible Recap podcast reading plan. Highly recommend for anyone who struggles to understand the Bible (all of us?) and who wants to learn more.
It would be hard not to give The Bible five stars. Even if you read it without the eyes of faith, it has it all: love, war, conflict, hope and rock and roll (well, the images that inspired a thousand heavy metal covers at least). There's poetry, history, drama, biography and letters, and the wonderful apocalyptical writings. And God. Forget the folk understanding of God, read the Bible and you'll get a much more radical picture of God, Father, Son and Spirit, and their true love and grace. With the eyes of faith, however, this book (or should I say library of books) comes alive and brings life. A Father who loves his world and people so much that he sends his Son to become part of it to put things right when they go wrong and his Spirit with resurrection power and life. All this and a personal invitation to be part of his family too. Stunning.
I couldn't find this version of reading the Bible in one year on Goodreads, so I've listed it as NIV Bible in One Year (Hardcover.) It was actually from the YouVersion Ap and the plan I choose was The Bible in One Year 2019. This Bible reading plan was provided by Nicky and Pippa Gumbel, HTB. Excellent commentary each day along with Bible readings. I highly recommend it!
