Sloppy Work

While I always try to offer something good about a book, in this case, sad to say there is not much to offer. This might have had a chance of being an okay read if it wasn’t so over the top, plagued with editing, timeline and content issues. There were so many issues I don’t know where to begin. This read as if it was a first draft and then went straight to print.

Lime Green is my favorite color so he gets a pass on choosing the cover colors. The cover is blah and I can’t say for the life of me what it represents. The books needs some narration as it’s written in first person, told in the voice of Jonathan Paul. Need the narration to change scenes and change the characters voices. For example Jonathan cannot explain what is going on in a scene that he is blindfolded in. You can’t just switch scenes and another character is talking in first person.

If there is an editor that worked on this book they need to be FIRED and never be used ever again. Shame on you Mr. Higgins, for not having this novel edited properly, (content and proof read). Okay let’s talk about the editing. Misspelled/improper use of words: Conner for corner, stocker for stalker, parity for party, carrot for carat and missing punctuation marks. Wrong tenses used: met for meet. Random capitalization in middle of sentences, character name changing back and forth between Shane and Shene, also Bernard and Barnard. Mentioning songs and spelling artist name wrong Neo for Ne-yo, Nelley for Nelly. I don’t know much about cars but I know you can’t be driving 2012 in the year 2009 nor can you be driving a 300 Charger as Chrysler makes the 300 and Dodge makes the Charger. There are only two dates mentioned in this book: August 14th 2009 and August 15th 2009. Trying to keep a timeline in order is IMPOSSIBLE as facts keep changing. Nothing about this book matches up.

********************SPOILER ALERT******************
For the life of me I can’t see ANYONE planning a 2.5 million dollar wedding in the span of two weeks, not to mention the bride and groom meet and get married two weeks later. Nor can I see an actor going from 4,500 a week to 55,000,000 given a mansion and two cars, a Lincoln Navigator and Porsche not to mention his current vehicle is 2010 Jaguar.

There is no way could I recommend this book to anyone. This needs to go back to the drawing board, gutted and started over. This goes far beyond debut or rookie mistakes. There is so much I can say sadly not enough space to keep going.
