Rate this book
In the space of three months, Libby Bartlett acquires a psychotic stalker and two potential suitors. As the actor seeks to win her heart and the detective works to protect her life, the question remains; who is the stalker and why is he targeting Libby? “Terror by Night” is her story. Libby is thirty-four, single and owner of her own used book store/coffee shop. A chance lunch meeting introduces her to Sean Patrick; wealthy, famous, attractive and persistent. Libby is content to remain single however, and is not convinced that his intentions are anything but temporary. Not long after she meets Sean, she is targeted by a stalker. He vandalizes her Jeep, invades her home and sends threatening messages in the mail. This introduces Libby to Detective Ryan Brinks, the man assigned to investigate her case. During the course of the investigation, Libby finds herself being drawn to the quiet detective, even while she admits to an interest in the English actor. Her conflicts occur on several levels. Sean is a skeptic, while Ryan shares her faith. Sean has the means and the will to shower her with anything she wants. Ryan can only offer himself and his desire to keep her safe. Her own physical responses to both men confuse and worry her. She has her values and strives to hold on to those no matter what. Adding to the dilemma, the two men begin to form a friendship of their own as they work together to keep Libby safe from the psychopath who has targeted her. Faced with two would-be heroes, she is torn between the dashing English prince charming and the daring American white knight. When the stalker’s attentions turn deadly she turns to her ultimate protection, her faith in God. Her silent prayers throughout her ordeal keep her sane, if not entirely safe.

I was born at a very early age just north of Houston, Texas. My Texas roots go back to the Alamo, and my Irish roots date back to the late 1700s. I've been writing since I was about 12. Early influences, courtesy of my parents' home library, were Ray Bradbury, Louis L'Amour, Arthur C. Clark, Isaac Asimov, J. R. R. Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, and a variety of Harlequin paperbacks. I also read many of my mom's college literature books. I did all of this before junior high. Yeah. I was a book nerd. Still am. Somewhere along the way, I made the connection between the name on the book and the stories between the covers. THAT's what I want to do when I grow up. Forty some odd years later, and a mess of jobs, college classes, kids, and life in general, I've reached that goal. MY name is on the cover, and that story is one I've created. I still read voraciously and widely. Many genres, many authors, many styles. Current influences? C. S. Harris, Anne Perry, Nicky James, Adrianna Locke, Tom Clancy, Bernard Cornwell, and a host of others. I'm always looking for something new. Take a look at my books. Maybe you'll find something new to add to your library.

Review:

"Terror By Night" by R.W. Ley was some excellent enjoyable read that will keep you reading until you are finished. I was simply not be able to put it down and I was left wanting more! Be ready for a lots of suspense and even some 'christian perspective' into the storyline.

"Terror By Night" was of Libby Bartlett who had two suitors and a psychotic stalker who was trying to do harm to her. Who would be able to save this lovely person? Would it be the Sean Patrick the famous, wealthy and attractive man or the Detective Ryan Brinks who had been assigned to investigate Libby's case? Now, this is where I say you must pick up this excellent read to find out the answers.

This novel moves very quickly and the descriptive scenes were simply well brought out to the reader. The characters were simply off the chart good! I was really taken back at how this author displayed each of the characters and simply made this come to life. Just to name a few... Libby Bartlett (heroine), Sean Patrick (Grainger-hero 1), Troy, Bernie(dog), Detective Ryan Brinks(hero2), Gina, Meredith, Denny(Denton Bainbridge) Nancy, Mrs. Tearlach, Ruth, Roger, Maggie & Geoffrey Grainger, Jenny, Nigel Bannister,Valerie Norwood, Inspector Ludlow, Belinda, Glyn Tiernay, Dr. Samuel Ennis, Abigail, Caleb, Sarah, and Jonathan. I think I got them all listed but you will just have to pick up this good read to see if I left anyone out!

If you are in for a excellent read that you will not be able to put down until the end....pick up "Terror By Night" and see what this author has presented. I would recommend this as a excellent read and even hope that this author will continue this series.

Just no

Several references to religion in each chapter and a thinly disguised attempt to push the writers own brand of morality on the reader. If you like Mills and Boon with religion go for it.I found it annoyingly trite

I was really enjoying it until the last few chapters, which seemed to have been added as afterthoughts.

I did NOT read this book. I read another book titled "Terror by Night" and couldn't clear this off my page. I had to say I finished it before I could clear it off my page.
