A humorous wedding planner for the well-meaning but totally unprepared groom.
In this one-of-a-kind survival guide to "the big day," newlywed Peter Scott candidly reveals all the wedding preparation do's and don'ts. Covering everything from choosing the perfect location to hiring the right photographer to questions that are too stupid to ask, even for a man ("Where do the centerpieces go?), Well Groomed tackles just about any scenario that might confront the modern groom. This step-by-step manual, balancing sensible advice with irresistible wit, is sure to be the one gift that every groom will be thankful for (no more toasters!).
I have found that there are not many books for guys who are getting married. However, there are a ton of books for brides-to-be. So because of the lack of books for grooms, I picked up this book just to see what words of wisdom it would contain, if any.
It was a fun book. There is not any really great information other than being reminded about all the details that we often overlook going into the wedding day. Mr. Scott has some ideas concerning "the dictator" wedding planner and various other elements that will likely go wrong in the wedding process.
One word of wisdom that he kept hinting on was the idea that no matter how much you plan, something will go wrong so it is best for you to simply go with the flow and do the best you can and adapt when things don't go your way.
I think that I will pass this book around to my friends who are getting married soon.
This book had me laughing so hard at times that I think my roommates might have gotten annoyed. If you are the least bit jaded about the modern wedding industry, recently wed or in the throes of wedding planning and in need of a good laugh you will probably enjoy this book too!
Hilarious, and full of useful, practical advice, while managing to never say anything serious at all. Perfect for putting things into perspective for grooms-to-be.
