Wow! Unputdownable, loved it all from the mystery of where Imogen is, and who has her. Theres definitely a lot of people that seem to know a lot more about Imogen than they are revealing. I'd like to think Christian is being kept in the dark like Sevyn is as I think it will break Sevyns heart and any sliver of a chance at a relationship between them if he is lying to her. Left me with lots of questions, Who has Imogen? Could Sevyns father be alive? What is Sevyn capable of with her heritage?
I can't help but fall in love with a good shifter book. Karina brings us another amazing story with phenomenal characters and world building. I loved the suspense, every turn of the page had me at the edge of my seat wondering what was to come next. My heart went out for Christian but I just know there is more in store for him and Sevyn and I can't wait to see what Karina brings us next with these characters.
I wanted to love this book, but it was just ok. The FMC was annoying at times, but I tried to ignore it. I like Christian and the new guy.
I don’t like that the book doesn’t have a true plot. You discover one thing, but there is really no end. I don’t like it when each book doesn’t have a good subplot. It’s just an unending story.
Finally, she was free of her role as the Grim Reaper, free to search for her mother. Christian was also part of her life again. He wanted to test the bond they had to see if they were meant to be together. She felt the draw and she always had, but determined to have the freedom of choice which the bond didn’t allow. So, another chapter in Sevyn’s life begins. This one is froth with danger, lies, threats, secrets, hatred and could very well end her life and may certainly separate her from Christian.
In her desperate search for her mother Sevyn made several missteps. The first was to make a deal with a powerful vampire, Adrian Pierce, the head of the vampires. She would allow him to feed on her one time for the information of her mother’s where abouts. The lure of him to allow him to feed on her again is strong. Another feeding would place her under his power and something she had to fight against. But Adrian’s draw isn’t her only problem. She had gone to her friend Frankie, a witch, asking for help searching out information, but now Frankie had gone missing. Her coven not only blames Sevyn for her disappearance, but they believe Sevyn knows where Frankie is being held. They will stop at nothing to find out what she knows, including kidnapping, torture, and the chance of starting a war with the werewolves.
Christian convinced her to rejoin the pack so she could be protected after being threatened by Claudia, the head of the coven and her two cohorts. But Gerald, Christian’s father, and pack alpha, was withholding information, she was sure of it. With Christian by her side, they followed any clues they came across to see if it would bring them closer to learning more about her mother. Nadia was once again to shadow her to keep her safe, however it didn’t stop the witches from capturing her, torturing her for information. That was left to a mysterious man dressed in black that seemed to turn up when Sevyn was in real danger. He wasn’t a werewolf, nor a mage, his powers far surpassed theirs.
The closer she came to finding her mother, the secrets she and the pack leader appeared to be holding the more danger stalked her. She had reached the point where she was convinced the bond between Christian and herself needed to be separated. She needed her freedom to choose the one she would spend her life with, to concentrate on her mother and the answers only she held, to come to terms with her past and where her future lie. She contacted Gerald and asked him to perform the ceremony, right or wrong, that would break the bond between her and Christian. Sevyn knew that she had to be the one to find her mother, to learn the secret her mother held, before others did or it could be the end of the supernatural world.
Sevyn is one tough cookie. Her job as the Grim Reaper for the mob had forced her to shut down her feelings. Turn away from the bond that she had with Christian, she wasn’t a good person, hurting him wasn’t something she wanted. She didn’t believe they could have a future together. Her focus on finding her mother had taken over her life, had sent her into the clutches of vicious beings who had no problem using, torturing, or killing her. The choices she was so bent on making for herself just might finish the job her part as an assassin had started. Separating her from her humanity, those she loved, taking away her ability to trust anyone, leaving her with a future of loneliness and heartache. We are left at the edge of a cliff and wait to see how all will end. I read on in the hope that Sevyn will come out on the other side, with a better life than the one she has had to deal with for the last eight years.
Second book in the Sevyn Rose Series, and I’m totally here to see what happens next…. Book two takes up the story where book one left it….
Sevyn is being chased by a whole crew of people that want her (or is it her mother they really want?)
After saving Christian in the last book, she’s living with the pack for the moment. That’s awkward to say the least! No one really wants her there! And she doesn’t really want to be there either! Too many memories of her mother (and also the warning that if she didn’t come home, she was to leave the pack and find her boss Nicholas) and the unwelcome vibe she seems to be feeling!
Lots going on in this book, lots of stuff I don’t want to tell you about either. (Hate when too much is given away) lots of secrets that Sevyn is slowly uncovering. Plenty about her parents (even though her mother claimed her father died before she was born!) the human mafia still want her to kill Christian and the alpha of the group, but she’s also being targeted by them! The vampire leader is pushing for a kill too! And a rogue alpha is challenging both the alpha and Christian for their pack! And a mysterious stranger that turns up when Sevyn is in need! (See told you there was lots going on 😜) oh and throw in a coven of witches!!
Sevyn is still a bada$$ character. I worry sometimes when a second book comes out, the character becomes a weak and clingy female… But she’s still as resourceful as ever, still sharp witted and full of snappy comebacks. Her main priority is still finding clues to her mother’s disappearance, and just when you feel like she’s getting somewhere, someone or something gets in her way!
And the bond between Christian and Sevyn? If she carries on behaving the way she does, then it’s going to snap!!! 😮 it’s a decision that both Christian and Sevyn really need to think about (and a refreshing change to see not all bonds are instant and forever) so they really want to be together?
And this stranger that appears and disappears is intriguing, who is he? Friend? Or someone with an agenda?
So are we any closer to finding what happened to her mother? Are Christian and Sevyn going make a go of their bond, or just break it and move on? Who is our masked figure, and what does he want?
Cliffhanger that I did not see coming!!!!
And now we wait for book three in this fast paced action filled story. I’m left with more questions. I also liked this one better than the first one.
You definitely need to read book one before picking up book two.
I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC of Captured Wolf from Booksprout in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I was so excited for this release! As soon as I saw Captured Wolf I knew that I needed to read it straight away as I absolutely adored Killer Wolf and needed to find out what happened next. Captured Wolf follows not too long after Killer Wolf and the stakes are only higher as Sevyn is forced to deal with not only the continuation of her mother’s disappearance, but the disappearance of her witch friend who aided Sevyn in her research.
There are definitely things that are tied up in Captured Wolf, but it does lead to a lot of new questions as the world building expands even further and everything we once knew is completely turned on its head. I must admit, with some of the new plot points, they were fairly predictable and I am pretty sure that I know what is coming in book three, but nevertheless it is entertaining to read and I love the characters, so I don’t mind too much.
The only thing that broke my heart, in a good way, was Sevyn and Christian. I know why certain things were done, but they broke my heart nevertheless, and I am once again excited to see where they go from that cliffhanger; I do genuinely believe that Christian would place everything behind if it meant protecting Sevyn from the carnage that is sure to come, but Sevyn is definitely going to have to do some grovelling, and, well — can I imagine Sevyn Rose grovelling? Not really.
A great read from Karina once again! I was rather grumpy when I had to put this one down to go out and absolutely flew through it both times I picked this up. I’m looking forward to seeing where Sevyn’s story goes next and whether my predictions come to pass.
I absolutely devoured this book and was not ready for that cliffhanger ending. It actually had me saying WTF out loud. Sevyn seems to be on everyone's list in some way and one thing for sure, she's not safe as trouble seems to follow her everywhere she goes. The one thing I love about Sevyn is that she's not a weak character and the term grim reaper speaks for itself. The chemistry between her and Christian is undeniable, and she makes a huge choice regarding their relationship or should I say their bond. I love Christian but I hope he's trying for the right reasons and not trying to keep close to Sevyn for his dad Gerard. Gerard and a whole list of other characters are keeping a lot of secrets, everyone wants Sevyn's mom Imogen and if they have to go through Sevyn to get to her than that's just collateral damage. However, a mysterious stranger keeps showing up at the perfect time. His identity is revealed at the end of the story and Sevyn learns a little more about herself. She made a choice that could destroy everything Christian feels for her and I'm excited to know what happens in the next book. This story is full of action, mystery, suspense, betrayal, great characters, moments that will have you laughing out loud and more. I hope the next book releases soon because I'm anxiously awaiting it.
Just as we find in Book 1, the action takes off and doesn’t slow down. Sevyn Rose’s mother, Imogen Rose, has been missing for 8 years. But she may still be alive, which Sevyn will have to investigate. Sevyn had also been promised to the Chicago Wolf Pack leader’s son, Christian Ellis. Since it was their parents who made the promise long ago, neither of them wanted it and Sevyn left the pack to pursue other issues. It seems her witch friend Frankie Lee is also missing after looking into a problem Sevyn had with the vampire Adrian Pierce and discovered he is vampire Orpheus’ younger brother. But Frankie’s coven thinks Sevyn knows where she is and will stop at nothing to make her tell them. Every step she takes seems to lead her into trouble and more questions.
When Sevyn is attacked by the witches, she is surprised that her rescuer is a powerful mysterious hooded figure who doesn’t identify himself. He told her he made a promise to her father to protect her. She appreciates his protection, but it’s another questionable action in her life. Her pack Alpha wants her to come back, but she and Christian need to decide what to do about their mating bond. What direction will she take now? With so many things going on, what comes first? And will she get the entire story about what is happening with her mother?
Book two, CAPTURED WOLF, starts off where book one, KILLER WOLF, left off. Sevyn Rose’s mother, Imogen Rose, went missing eight years ago. She discovers that her mother is still alive and possibly in Chicago. All the supernaturals are looking for something that is related to Sevyn’s mother’s disappearance. Everyone assumes Seven knows what/where it is, but she is totally in the dark.
In addition, Sevyn is still struggling with being bitten by vampire, Adrian Pierce and with the fated mate issue with Christian Ellis. She also discovers some information about her father. On top of all that, she is trying to rescue her friend/witch Frankie Lee, who went missing after investigating some information for Sevyn. There is never a dull moment.
Being from Chicago, I appreciate that the story takes place there. It mentioned my neighborhood, Forest Glen and favorite pizza, Lou Malnati’s.
CAPTURE THE WOLF is thrilling and entertaining. The novel is skillfully written. You should read book one, KILLER WOLF, before this story. I cannot wait for book three.
Love This Series! Can't Wait for More! Karina Espinosa captures your attention and writes books that you just don't want to put down!!!!
Sevyn has lots of things to do and not enough time to do it. Her mom is still missing, Christian still wants to be with her, her friend is now missing after doing something for Sevyn and then there are the vampires. To say her life is complicated just doesn't say enough. She just found out that her friend is missing and the coven want answers and they aren't scared to start a war! And Sevyn isn't one to back down either but to get the coven to back down she rejoins the pack. The problem? The coven isn't letting that stop them. And it seems everyone wants her mom because she seems to have something that every Paranormal wants! And not to mention there is a mystery man who keeps showing up to help Sevyn! Who is he? And why is he helping her? To find out you'll have read this book! Thank you Karina for writing books that I love to read and have a hard time putting down for anything! Can't wait for Book 3!!!
This was a fantastic follow-up book to the first one. Sevyn is still trying to find her mother, and it's taking her on a very dangerous journey... and she's still trying to fight off the vampires hold on her. In addition, she still doesn't know what to do about her bond with Christian. Does she break the bond and see if they truly have a spark? Or date like Christian wants?
In her search for her mother, she's being attacked by the witch coven who keeps kidnapping her. And then being saved by a mysterious man.... who says he's a friends of her fathers.
Honestly, my heart broke a little with what she ended up deciding to do with Christian and then that ending??? My heart can't take it!!
I loved this book so much, although I'm dying to find out what ends up happening next!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
As our heroine discovers more about her past, the choices she faces become more difficult. With none of them looking particularly promising, is one better than the others?
This is book two of the series. It does okay as a standalone but it will be a much more enjoyable experience if read in order.
This is an urban fantasy story with werewolves and vampires at the center of the story. The story is well written and easy to read. The setting is very intriguing with lots of details that I really want to explore in more depth. The characters are well done with solid personalities. I particularly liked our heroine who is a non-nonsense type of gal. The plot included plenty of action and intrigue to keep things moving at a good pace. Overall, a great entry in the series and I look forward to seeing what comes next.
Highly recommended.

Sevyn Rose is back and her story just keeps getting darker, twistier, and more addictive!
In Captured Wolf, Sevyn is pulled deeper into supernatural politics and danger, with witches, mages, and vampires all gunning for her. The emotional core, though, is what I loved most: her strained relationship with Christian, her mysterious protector who’s both a saviour and a puzzle, and the ever-present shadow of her missing mother.
Every page had me questioning loyalties and motives...
The tension between Sevyn and Christian added so much heart (and pain!) to the action. Add in the stalkery but protective stranger and the witches’ relentless pursuit, and this book had me devouring chapters way too late at night.
Karina Espinosa nails the balance between gritty action and raw emotion, and Sevyn remains one of my favourite kickass FMCs in urban fantasy.
If you’re into mafia edges, supernatural chaos, and complicated romance with claws, this series is 100% for you.
Sevyn learns that a friend is missing and needs the pack's help against the witches. She will learn more about her mother and what is going on. She also has a mysterious savior that she wants to learn more about. Sevyn also makes some personal choices with Christian. Sevyn realizes that everyone is keeping secrets from her. She decides the only person she can trust is herself right now.
There are so many amazing moments in this book. Sevyn has some trials in this book as endures several different things. The reveals in the book will have you expressing all sorts of emotions. I was so drawn into this book that I was shocked that it was at the end. I can't wait for book 3. I am very serious when I recommend this book/ series but anything by this author. She creates amazing characters and worlds.

I quite enjoy this author so was of course excited to see this second book in the series. Sevyn is still dealing with her actions from the first book, and she’s still wondering what’s up with everyone wanting to know where her mom is including those she thought were allies of her but maybe not so much. Speaking of allies, we found out about a new player in town, and I’m excited to find out what that revelation will bring in the next book. This was a fun, action-filled, well-written installment in this series, and I can’t wait for the next. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
Sevyn is not having a good week. She keeps getting attacked by witches and mages, while trying to find her friend Frankie that disappeared as well as continue her search for her mother. She continues to struggle with her feelings for Christian and trying to figure out who she can trust.
This was an enjoyable and entertaining book and we learn more about why Sevyn's mother disappeared and who her father is. I do find myself frustrated by Sevyn, I don't think she is being fair to Christian and I kind of hope he moves on from her but maybe Karina Espinosa will change my mind in future books in the series.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This story picks up where the first book ended. The author once again brings a cast of strong characters and weaves an action packed storyline. She had me glued to the pages with Sevyn deals with numerous attacks and her strained relationship with her mate. Not to mention the mysterious stranger who repeatedly rescues her and with her still searching for her missing mother. It's well written with descriptive scenes, moves fluidly and left me with wanting more with the cliffhanger ending. I loved this book and am looking forward to the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
We meet up to Sevyn Rose, where the Hunter becomes the hunted. You question how is she not getting herself out of the fire. Where is my kick ass warrior Assassin. Is she capable of saving herself like always or will a man be Her hero. Don't worry All will be revealed.
Sevyn Wants to make sure that the mate bond is not what drives her to Christian. She wants to Find her mom and figure everything out. She is just feeling so lost. Someone new comes into her life And lets her know she's not alone. This book leaves is a cliff hanger, can't wait for the next one.

Captured Wolf begins where the 1st book left off and, wow, what a ride! Relationships are tested, friendships questioned, and betrayals are presented but not fully realized...yet. I love that Sevyn is a fierce, independent woman who is not ruled by her hormones. Nor, does she allow others, or fate for that matter, to determine her path. The introduction of the hooded figure adds to the suspense and I can't wait to see what happens there. The cliffhanger has me salivating for the next in the series!.

Read Killer Wolf First. This is one series of ups and downs, being captured, and overall non stop action. Sevyn finds herself in so may predicaments, some having a illusive savior! Sevyn and Christian's relationship has some changes. She does not know who to trust, then He, The Savior shows up. Choices, and revilations, followed up by a cliff, such is a series. This was Urban Fantasy at it's BEST, and I Loved It!!! No Spoilers! I received an ARC and I am Leaving this Totally Honest Review because I choose to and think that this book was Epic!!!
Five stars all the way! This book was amazing! It’s a continuation of the first book, and I was hooked on it from the first word. I need to know what happens to Sevyn, who her father was, and where her mother is!! The next book can’t come fast enough for me. I don’t know if anyone else got this, but this series gave me the same sort of urban fantasy vibes that The Dresden Files series did, which I also ate up. I love each and every character in this series, and I’m excited to learn more about this mysterious figure that appeared in this book! ~Taylor💜
Sevyn has been searching for her mother for a long time, so far it's been like tracking a ghost, although Sevyn is sure that her mother is still alive. It seems Sevyn is not the only one trying to find her mother, can Sevyn work though the mystery surrounding her mother and find her? Sevyn has a bond with Christian (the alpha's son), but she isn't sure if she should let him into her life. I loved this gripping story, the twists, angst, action and mystery/secrets. I need the next book, because I need more answers.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I think these books keep getting better, so I may be biased. I do love Karina Espinosa’s books, this one is no exception. The second in the series, this can’t be read as a standalone you do need to read the first book, but you should definitely read that on this one, the fast paced addictive, wonderful rating, and brilliant story lines. I can’t wait to read the next. You won’t be disappointed. Trust me you need to pick these books up now.

Captured Wolf (Sevyn Rose Book 2) is an excellent follow-up to the first book. The saga continues with Sevyn trying to figure out her life, find her Mom, and battle against her mate bond with Christian. The characters continue to be engaging, and the storyline grows in the intensity of the drama, action, suspense, a tormented romance, and a mystery. It makes for entertaining reading. I can hardly wait for the next book.

This book begins were the last one ended with Sevyn trying to find her mother. This time she has a clue or two but with everything else going on its a wild ride. Easy to read and I got sucked into the story ad had to see what she might discover this time. Plus cannot forget about the issues with her mate and the new stranger. Lots of action, crazy and a a few surprises along the way made it fun to read.
Lord knows that I have so many thoughts right now! They’re a jumbled mess. Sevyn and Christian. Mr mysterious. The witches. The werewolves. It’s getting seriously crazy. And yet I’m holding onto my seat and white knuckling my poor kindle holding on for dear life. Some things I expected but others blew my mind from out of left field!!!! I absolutely cannot wait for the next book!!!!
This book was a fast read but epic! The witches want Sevyn because they think she knows where her mum is. The mages are up to something, The pack has secrets, I’m not liking the overly sweet cunning she wolf. There’s definitely something going on with her and I can’t wait to find out what. Sevyn made a new friend and I love it! There’s a new mystery someone! This book was an epic read and action packed! And I loved every second of it! And that ending! Holy wolves!!!
This series keeps getting better! It’s action packed, a little bit of romance and has lots of great characters. If you like a series with a strong lead character, Sevyn is your girl!
Definitely recommend this series. I can’t wait for the next book!!! Please hurry Karina!.

Captured Wolf is book two in the Sevyn Rose series and it picks up where book one left off. In this book Sevyn is searching for her mother while dealing with her mate and someone new in her life. This is an action packed read with a unique storyline, mystery, drama, suspense, romance, great banter, and an ending that left me ready for the next book. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Whew what another ride! I was relieved that breaking the bond didn't ruin Christian and Sevyn's relationship and see potential for a new future. I'm really ready to find out if Imogen is actually around how she plays into the story with the cure. Ready for the next!
