Maya Gold grew up in New Jersey, a few towns north of Diana’s home in Weehawken. Now she lives in upstate New York with her fashion–forward teenage daughter and a very friendly dog. Maya writes books and magazine articles, and in her spare time, she coaches a high school drama club. Cinderella Cleaners is her first series for young readers.

My favorite book in this excellent series of biographies. DK's photographs bring each book's content to life. The formatting with sidebars and bite-sized chunks of text are also appealing to readers, but my favorite aspect of this series of biographies is that each person's life is put into the broader context of world history. It gives the reader a good perspective on how a person's environment shapes who he or she becomes and in turn how each person can shape their environment.

I liked this book but it did seem like some people would get bored of reading it because it's more of a person who wants to read about someone who impacted others lives. This book taught me that you can really make an impact on people in different ways.

The book explains Mother Teresa's life and what she did. There are many interesting things that she did that a lot of people don't know about. When she was little her dad was a rich person. Mother Teresa father was a contractor he would go all around Europe and Egypt building. Mother Teresa could have just stayed home and lived off her father's money but she went out to help the poor. Mother Teresa, she helps people not to become famous but to do it because she loved God so much. Mother travels many places around the world and helps thousands of people.I really liked the book it had a lot of information that I did not know about. Mother Teresa would go at a young age to become a sister and never see her parents ever again in her life. She would leave everything behind at home to go and help the purest countries in the world. Mother Teresa would go out and build the first Shishu Bhavan home for abanded babies and children. Mother Teresa would help out a lot of the times at hospitals. Mother Teresa was a very hardworking and humble person through her life.Mother Teresa dies of a heart attack in Calcutta, India.

In this DK published biography about Mother Teresa, written by Maya Gold, we are able to travel throughout the life of this beautiful woman and to learn about all of her accomplishments, her generosity, and most importantly her love for God and for others. Within the thirteen chapters of this informational text and pictures, we learn about her life as a Sister of Loreto all the way until she started to become considered a modern Saint.
Mother Teresa was a very faithful woman who always put others before herself. She travelled all over the world to care for the sick and the suffering. “Do ordinary things with extraordinary love,” she said. And that is exactly what she did. She was welcomed by all who she visited, including President and Nancy Reagan. Mother Teresa went on to start the Missionaries of Charity in 1950 and to build orphanages and care for many, many more people - especially those whom most people wouldn’t even think to touch.
This book is good to know about because even without the religion aspect, Mother Teresa was a wonderful woman who made a great difference. Within her life, she impacted the lives of many, and there are many lessons to be learned from her and her respect and trust in God. It would definitely be useful for a project or a report. It is full of love and compassion from cover to cover.

This is a short and sweet biography that has great photographs and gives the world context into which she gave her life to Jesus and the poorest of the poor. I now understand her motivation better as when the book told about her family life and the influence of her mother. One thing I found particularly sad was that after she left for the convent in Ireland, at age 18, she never saw her mother or sister again because of the politics in Albania and the region (her father died when she was nine years old). She tried to see her mother and her mother tried to see her and every time they were denied a visa. She is a hero to me. Everything in this book is approached differently than the other two books I have read. I found this book in the children's section at Borders. This book is a great starting point.

This book introduces young readers to some of history's most interesting and influential characters, this is a short and sweet biography that has great photographs and gives the world context into which she gave her life to Jesus and the poorest of the poor. Also this book is a photographic story of life. The general age range for this book is advance because the vocabulary and the story is more complicated and definitely is for biggest students. The illustrations of this book present the setting and the subject in an accurate manner. Also, the biographers made use of archival photographs to highlight the subject personalities and lives. I personally love the life of Mother Teresa, because she was an excellent person and she helped a lot of people and children. That is why I recommended this book, because this is a way to let the people know who Mother Teresa was.

Religious affiliation aside, this woman was an amazing human being. We can all learn from her generosity and unending love that she bestowed upon the world's rejected people. She is an inspiration, someone to think of often as we ask ourselves, "What kind of person do I want to be?" Mother Teresa made the world better for a lot of people. If you're looking for a quick, inspiring read, read this.

A great quick and easy book that shares how Mother Teresa became Mother Teresa as we know her. I enjoyed learning about her beginnings, her struggles, and how tremendous her faith was to have endured and faced all that she had. What a brave woman!

This book showed me what is the meaning of sacrifice of the life of 21 centrey joy, for the mortal joy in this life and the other life. It inprinted in my heart and brain that good will be always remembered even through the obsticals it faces.

Came to find this was a child’s book, but it definitely was complex for the age recommended. I think it was too short to really encompass Mother Teresa and pinned her as a harsh and curt person. Maybe she was but it was spun negative. I still love her anyways! Now she’s a saint!

Amazing, Inspriring Woman of Beautiful Faith!

Mother Teresa is a autobiography on what she did in her life and how she effected the people around her. She was first born in Europe to a middle class family. When she was younger her faith was very strong and she had a special bond with God.Then when she was old enough she went to join nuns and become tried to be closer with God. During her training she thought that she should help people that are in need so she moved out to India to start her own program to help the people with the Church's help. She became very well known and started to open more places for the poor. through her years more and more people knew of her and she even was on tv for interviews. When she passed away she was given many medals for her help to the poor and years later also became a saint.
I thought this book gave good information on Mother Teresa. This book was short but also gave many details on her life and what she did to help others. I liked how the book told about some of her childhood and some of the things people thought about her.the book told about many of her awards and what she did with the prize money she earned for getting the awards.I also liked that the book was not all just about her but her work s and how it effects people today. The book was great and it helped me learn more about Mother Teresa
