Jaime and his brother Gilbert Hernández mostly publish their separate storylines together in Love And Rockets and are often referred to as 'Los Bros Hernandez'.
A wonderful introduction to Hernández and as Moore painfully states in his intro, the possibilities of comics. The illustration is clear and evokes huge affection with the space used for the best of design. The writing is warm, humanitarian and incredibly funny. Each of the tales are quite memorable and I'm left wanting to read more, much more.
Gilbert certainly got the ball rolling faster than his brother. My only complaints are the patronizing notes on the phonetics of spanish words and the lack of a diagram in the back describing who all the characters were so I could get them straight. But they all became very endearing to me.
