“Your son Wes has been suffocated,” they were the most terrifying words for a father to hear.
Frantically, Dave Tognoni, drives five hours to the hospital, horrified with a torment of thoughts, saying, “Hang on Wes, hang on.” There in intensive care he finds his intelligent, active toddler son now naked, sedated, and unconscious. When the accident happened, his wife, a trained paramedic, revived him through CPR, but it was too late. After heart-wrenching weeks of inconsolable tears, rocking Wes, gathering his family for support, the verdict was in: massive brain damage. Wes would live out his life with severe/profound Cerebral Palsy in a wheel chair functioning at the level of an infant.
Dave and his wife divorce and his ex-wife is bitterly unrelenting in her attacks through the divorce courts using his two older children as monetary pawns leaving him financially ruined, separated, and estranged from his children. Later, as Dave is trying to make sense of it all, he finds out that all might not be, as it seems. Dave watches a horrific documentary on TV about Munchausen by Proxy Syndrome now called Factitious Disorder by Proxy where mothers use suffocation, poison etc. on their own children, to gain attention. His ex-wife's profile eerily seems to fit. This is the true story of a divorced father, demonized by the liberal "justice" system, ensnared in a web of puzzling deception, relentlessly attacked and intentionally jailed in "debtor's prison" by his ex-wife. Dave survives the devastation of Wes’ suffocation, the destruction of his family, to boldly present the facts of the manipulative facade. You decide the truth.
David Tognoni P.E. is a Professional Geological Engineer and has been putting together the pieces to mineral exploration puzzles for over forty years in Alaska and the lower 48. He is now happily married to Linda, the love of his life.
Now, as the Author of his two books, "Suffocated: The True Story of Wes Tognoni's Suffocation" and "Suffocated 2: The American War on Fathers and Family" he has put together the clues that point to a sinister conclusion - his seventeen-month-old son's suffocation was more than just an accident. Wes' was admitted to the hospital, brain dead - with no marks or trauma to the neck or head. His ex-wife has all the characteristics of a Munchausen by Proxy Mother, now called Factitious Disorder by Proxy. This is a first-hand look from a father's perspective at the self-absorbed prevarications and destruction of family caused by MBP.
These books, written in a compelling memoir account of court testimony and factual journal entries lets you, the reader, play detective by unraveling the twisted "Mother-of-the-Year" facade and decide the truth. Wes' suffocation was only the beginning of cunning child abuse, extortion, and manipulation. Would a rational mother put (the older brother) a twelve-year son in a Psychiatric Ward? Shine the light of truth and decide, "Who is she REALLY?"
This book has nothing to do with MBP or the child. It a book written by a selfish father trying to make his selfish wife look bad & himself look like a hero. Neither parent really cared about anything but themselves.
The book should have been titled "I am wonderful".
Do not waste your time. Bitter ex-husband who refuses to pay child support wrote this book to get money to pay his lawyer. That is actually what he admits in the last chapter. He never proves the wife hurt their child. And, by the way, he hasn't had visitation with the child since he was hurt. He does however tell you all about the cars he drives over the years (who cares) and gives lots of sad excuses for not being employed.
