The Exciting Exploits of an Effervescent Elf: The Fabled Forest Series

Rate this book
Patsy, the spider, is holding Emma captive in her web. While everyone in the forest searched in vain for Emma only Cheets, the irrepressible elf, can see her. Given his reputation, no one believes Cheets when he claims to have found her. Cheets cannot hear what Emma is trying tell him and she must use the game Charades to relay vital news concerning the enchanted forest. Hazard, the Lord of the Underworld is selling the forest to developers who plan to cut down all the trees and build houses. This fable contains lessons about greed, ecology, friendship, enduring love and justice. Most of the characters from the first book of the Fabled Forest return to this new story. Thomas, the sea turtle, pedantic and loveable. Laughter erupts when the reader realizes that he speaks only in nautical expressions. Stare, the rhetorical owl. The Queen of the Faeries and her handmaidens try to help save the forest. Everyone who reads this book will love greedy, little Patsy, the spider. Rose, Emma's mother emphasizes maternal devotion and the ability to "believe" when the magical creatures of the forest reveal themselves to her. Hazard, Lord of the Underworld reunites with a lost love. And of course, Cheets the elf is, finally, a hero! This is a black & white version of the beautiful, full color, illustrated book by Trisha Sugarek.
