One of 5 chapbooks published in the summer of 2012, this is Kit Fryatt's first publication. Kit Fryatt divides his time between Ireland and Scotland and runs the Wurm im Apfel reading series in Dublin.
Kit Fryatt was born in 1978 in Tehran, and grew up in Singapore, Turkey and England. He moved to Ireland in 1999, and lectures in English at Dublin City University.
Kit’s kaleidoscopic range of styles, are a playful helix of Caledonian and Anglo-Saxon intonation on the vernacular narrative throughout the book. We are then invited into a letters’ smoke filled international transit lounge, observing a procession of little gems on the human condition, as neatly as a ‘hamper of letters’ neatly laid across a hot metal typesetting prose, amongst the playful rhythms of the words to explore, to roll and disport the tongue into the fascinations of their sounds – perambulator.
There’s an ease and fluidity to Kit’s loaded lines, imbued with wit and poignancy and thoroughly enjoyable to read. A personal thought provoking collection.
