Flying into Hell: The Bomber Command Offensive in World War Two as Witnessed by the Crews Themselves

Rate this book
With the passage of time rapidly depleting the ranks of W.W.II combat veterans, the opportunity to learn what battle was like first hand is fast disappearing.

Nothing can quite surpass a truthful personal account of such experiences to put the horrors of war in their real perspective and dispel the myth that war is somehow glamorous. In his collection of 20 short stories, best-selling author Mel Rolfe has done just that. This is a must-read for anyone interested in the subject.

Stories told with heart

I loved every story told about these brave men! I found it interesting to hear their backgrounds, their missions, and what happened to each one of them! Very well written and told with much heart!

Interesting stories but the writing wasn't the best. Poorly written at times and hard to follow who is being talked about.

Very good first person accounts of the air crews from bomber command. Certainly kept my attention throughout. Read about one crew member from my hometown.
