Anglezarke Book We Are Your Ghosts. Cover designed by Grace. Description of Book Book one of the Anglezarke Trilogy transports its readers back in time to an era, and to places, they may never have the British trenches of WW1 in 1917, an English Manor House, a monastery near the Hindenburg Line and even a French bordello. This work of historical fiction is a story of how love, truth, beauty, goodness and the mystery of faith can be lost and redeemed, even in the Hell of the Western Front. Accounts of combat, heroism, class-distinction, humour, tragedy, indiscretion, doubt, conscience, romance, redemption, and betrayal are all chronicled against authentic meticulously-researched and richly-detailed backdrops. If you loved Downton Abbey, you'll love Anglezarke Trilogy!
This book was very detailed and interesting to to me as it's not a period I have extensive knowledge about. There were some great characters to root for and it was my interest in their stories which made me stick with what was sometimes a slow paced read. The times when some areas of religion and philosophy are expounded on at length took me away from the story and made skim and skip-read. Mine was a free Kindle promo copy, and I have to say it could have done with a better proof read, but it was good enough to make me start on its (equally free) sequel.
