Written in the mid-1960s, this autobiography is a bit too subjective for historians but it does capture a sense of the times. It give very interesting insights into the life of someone who was in the thick of the Irish cultural revival, war of independence and civil war. His later years demonstrate a far more international and interesting viewpoint.
