I'm a huge huge HUGE fan of Piper Davenport I love everything that I've read by her and I'll keep reading them . I have read a few books in the Civil war brides book and had fallen for the character after reading the blurb to this one I had to get my greedy hands on Shaye and Laughing Crow story plus have you seen this cover yum-my . Time travel plots are one of my many favorite genres and the author does such an amazing portraying it .I had a girl crush on the heroine and I did have a crush on the hero when he wasn't being a jerk . The couple share some steamy moments that will get you all HOT . If she is a new author for you I highly recommend all of her stories especially her Dog of fire series add bonus if you love MC story lines .

This is the 7th book in the civil war Brides series. I have absolutely loved this series, it is actually the only series with time travel that I have liked. This series drew me in from page one, and this book has been one of my favorites! This is Crow and Shaynes story. This book is a little different than the other books in the series, and has some great surprises. Shayne and Crow not only come from different times, but different cultures as well. Will they be able to make it work?

Shaye is a Tour Manager, following the disappearance of her artist and best friend Rayne... Shaye is devastated to learn that everyone has moved on... but not Shaye, she hasn’t rested and won’t until she finds her.

After jumping on a plane to Rayne’s last know sighting..an abandoned warehouse in Chicago.

After waking up in the woods disorientated she finds sanctuary in a cabin with a Native American man named laughing crow, badly beaten..Crow knows of Shayne, she is Married to his best friend Sam.

It takes Crow some convincing but Shaye finally realises and accepts she has somehow been transported back through time...

During an awful storm in which Shaye and Crow take shelter in an abandoned cabin, they begin to develop feelings for each other.

However Crow knows it is futile to even look at the beautiful woman before him... he is an outcast neither Caucasian or Native American he is both and doomed to be alone no matter how much he wants or loves Shaye.

Shaye knows that she loves Crow...but cannot stand the thought of hiding their relationship or love from anyone just because of Crow’s heritage... and returns to her own time... what she doesn’t expect is for Crow to pursue her....

So I’m late to the Civil War Brides Party, this is book 7 in the series. I hadn’t read any of the other books ( YET) but that blurb on the back was just too intriguing not to read. There are a lot of characters featured in this book but the author gives great snippets of backstory so I didn’t feel lost or confused at any point.

I dived in not knowing what to expect and was swept back in time and completely under the spell of this charming old school times meets modern day romance and swept into a fantastic story filled with romance, emotions and suspense.I was gripped and stayed up all night reading until the wee small hours.

I adored Crow, he is a fantastic ‘old school romance hero’ with his stubbornness and teasing nature... I loved that he fell so hard for the spunky and sassy future girl... who wouldn’t be swayed by his mesmerising kisses... until she fell HARD!

I will defiantly be reading the previous books in this series because this was a fantastically well written book and who doesn’t love a great time travel romance!!

Shayne is the friend that everybody will want. When her friend Rayne goes missing With no explanation and the police have basically given up as they have no leads, Shayne jumps on a plane to Chicago to do some digging herself. When she goes to the nightclub where Rayne goes missing she is catapulted through time to Baltimore in the American Civil War. I need to discover her friend is happily married in the past.
When Shayne arrives in the past she comes acquainted with an native Indian named Crow who is acquainted with Rayne and her new family. They were together a very short time before Shayne came back to her original time of 2018 and was devastated to leave crow back in his time. She also finds out that she is having a baby which is not the most ideal second stance when the father lives several hundred years in the past. Crow decides to follow her. Can they make it work? And how does he adapt to life in the future.
Although this is a series this can actually be a standalone book because you get to see the previous people in the book and you don’t ever get confused about what’s going on.

I haven't read any of the previous books in this series, so I was going in without knowing the history of any of the mentioned characters....but you know what? It didn't matter as this book focuses on the couple of Crow and Shaye. This was actually a great read. Going back in time with a modern outlook really hooked me. Things you wouldn't think twice about were major issues then. I loved the spin of things being done in the past affecting parts of the future. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves time travel romance

... and I'll probably being going back to meet all the characters.

Okay this is book #7 but this is the first in this series I have read. First as a southern it's the War between States and not Civil War .
This is a time travel book as each women goes back in time when she's in danger in this time. They each find the one they are supposed to be with but her one is Crow a half breed Indian when a time that is not accepted.
Because of the problems of the past she comes home and Crow follows an has too adapter to this time. But
It's a love story spanning time and finding your one and accepting the difference in people. A great book.

Time travel is not my favourite genre, to be honest, but I am so pleased that I took a chance on this story. This is the 7th book in this series, and the 1st one which I have read. Shaye is looking for her best friend Rayne, and goes back in time to meet Crow, who is a talented tracker. This is a time travel novel, but with a modern prospective to it. This is a well written story, which is intense and steamy, and a sweet love story. I was intrigued and hooked throughout, and I will be going back and 1-clicking the other novels in this series.

Love, love, loved!

Shaye and Crowe were definitely one of my favourites in the CWB series up to now! I liked that this story was a slight twist on the others in terms of how they played out but it was no less spectacular! There were certain times I had a huge lump in my throat reading this book because it was so touching...especially towards the end of the story. I just can't get enough of this series and now I'm patiently awaiting the next!!

A couple things attracted me to this book. 1. It is a time travel romance. 2. The main characters is Native American and looks like Anthony Kiedis 😂
Sometimes the author would leave out important details (like how Crow found her after being kidnapped), but add boring detail like arriving at airport, picking up bags, waiting for a taxi…
I was surprised that the happily ever after happened early on and then the rest of the book was the “after”.

Loved! Fantastic book, reversal for f the other books in this series as the past comes to the present. Characters are fun, Shaye is spunky and Crow, strong, alpha and stoic. As usual, we get glimpses of the other characters from previous books

I could not wait to read Crows book! Shaye is sweetheart with backbone and sass. She is just what Crow needs in his life and it was so much fun to read their love story. Shaye is lost when her best friend goes missing but little does she know that she will not only find her best friend but love as well. Crow did not plan on Shaye coming into his life and changing everything but he is willing to risk it all to be with her. There are some awesome twists and bitter sweet moments in this book that makes it stand out. One thing I love about this series is that just when you think you will know what will happen there is a twist that will knock your socks off! I always say that I am not normally a fan of time travel but this series has me hooked! If you are looking for romance, steamy love scenes, action, and a page turning plot this book is for you!

This was the story I've eagerly awaited through the last two books. I just knew Laughing Crow's story was going to be a favorite the way he intrigued me as a secondary character. And for the first time in the series, I got to see what happened when someone actually left the past behind and went back leaving behind loved ones. I knew it would have some added tension as a result along with a strong plot and it didn't disappoint.

Shaye Montgomery can't get over the disappearance of her closest friend Rayne and continues to search even after everyone else has given up. Her family and her friend Trevor encourage her to let Rayne go, but she decides she needs to back track to the place where Rayne was last seen. So it is in that old building in Chicago that she goes and ends up traveling back through the same time portal that Rayne and several others found.
Crow leaves his friends behind after they reveal to him the most astonishing news. Samuel, his best friend and a few of the other men and women share their secret with him. Several of the ladies, Jamie Ford and Stephen Paxton are time traveler. He accepts this news better than most, but mysticism and the such is not new among his people. Crow agrees to meet up with them for Thanksgiving after he completes another scouting mission that takes him into the mountains.
Shaye finds herself at a cabin where an seriously injured Native American man is staying while he heals. She can't believe what has happened. He tells her that she has gone back in time and even more surprisingly he shares that her missing friend Rayne is here. She couldn't be found because she went back to the Civil War era. Shaye is frightened of Crow at first even though she surprises him with her ability to use his language, but soon she goes from frightened of him to frightened of the strong attraction she feels for the big handsome Creek.
Crow is equally interested in the unusual female who landed in his life suddenly. Her naive and fierce way of treating him with equality both warms his heart, but terrifies him for her safety. He wants to be with her, but they cannot carry on an open relationship in this time. Prejudice is high against his kind. Shaye doesn't see it that way and pushes him for an all or nothing. For her sake, he won't give her the public courtship or the chance of a future marriage.
Shaye is devastated that he refuses to make a commitment to her and wants to hide their relationship so she gives up and leaves the past behind. It breaks her heart to leave behind Rayne now that she found her, but that's not nearly as devastating as walking away from Crow.
Crow can't believe that Shaye left him, but he knows that it was his decision that pushed her into leaving. He wants her back and can't live without her. His friends encourage him to find a way to be with Shaye and not just let her go without a fight.

The plot on this one as I said was my favorite of the whole series. I really wanted to cry for these two brokenhearted people. Now I did think Shaye was on the naive side particularly because she really wouldn't try to look at things from the perspective of the times so that she could see how Crow wasn't trying to hurt her, but protect her. On the other hand, I respect her need to not be a kept woman and the need to stand up against prejudice. Later, when she was just so insistent that a certain person couldn't possibly have done what he was accused of I got a bit frustrated with her naivete again. All her true friends and family tried to guide her, but she refused to listen. Fortunately, her stubbornness made for some excitement and danger with the big plus that it allowed Crow to be the strong, handsome hero to the rescue.
I just loved these two together and I loved the solution to finding a way for them to be together without drawing danger to them for the multi-racial relationship.
The tie-in to the bad guy Carys was great and the ongoing danger they still represent.
One of my favorite parts was seeing the connection between the time travelers to the past and what their legacy in the present turned out to be.
And that epilogue, it was so adorable and had me smiling from ear to ear. Totally fab way to end the story.

If you're looking for a solid time-travel romance series with the romance leaning toward the sweeter side, then you should give these a try. I definitely recommend starting from the beginning and reading them in order.

My thanks to the author for sending me this book in exchange for an honest review.

With each book in this series just gets better and better. This is Shayne and Crow's book. This book follows immediately after the events in the previous book. This book is the same but different in its own way. I fell in love with these two and you will too.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book!!! It might be my favorite out of all of them!! I must say after reading Rayne and Samuel's book I was soooo excited to read more about Shaye and see where this story would go. This one is very different that the others, but a very good different. This book both broke my heart and healed it all in one. In the previous books, the heroes knew they were going to marry the heroine and didn't fight it at all, in fact they all but have to fight to convince the heroines of that fact. In this one, Crow does absolutely everything he can to push Shaye away because he thinks it is the only thing he can do since he is Indian and she is white. Now, in the 20th century that doesn't matter but in the 19th, yes it is a big deal. So, Shaye makes the only decision she can and decides to go back to the future. What happens when Crow discovers he really can't live without her? Can he fix his mistakes? Those are all the questions I asked myself and while my heart broke for him it also broke for Rayne and Samuel as well. For those reasons, you are going to have to read it to find out what I mean. I don't want to give anything away. What I will say is that what happens from beginning to end is amazing and how the characters of Rayne, Shaye, Samuel, and Crow handle everything is nothing short of magnificent! A copy was gifted in exchange for an honest review. This book should be 10 stars! It really is that good!!!

The Bride Pursued - Book 7 of the Civil War Series by Tracey Jane Jackson
Wow Tracey Jane Jackson hit the ball out of the park with this one. Time travel, intrigue, romance, it's all there. Something for everyone! Usually with her books there are people looking for friends or relatives after the first book where the first person was transported to the Civil War era, who are sent there also.

This book is about Shaye Montgomery who is looking for her missing friend, rock star, Rayne. She is transported back to the Civil War era where she finds a large Indian man who has been beaten almost to death and they help each other to get out of the elements in this abandoned cabin.

They fall in love, but the problem is that in the Civil War Era, they cannot marry, and for Shaye, marriage is a big deal and she isn't putting out until then. She can't believe that she can actually get him in very big trouble just by standing up for him or being caught holding hands with him.

I can't spoil things. This is my favorite book out of the series of seven to date and you have to get this one to read what happens!

I give this one Five Stars but would give it Six If I could!

It's a cute little story. I have noticed that this series has a lot of the "instant" love thing going on. Instant attraction/hook-up. Almost instant profession of love. While the characters are different and the time line is progressing through the Civil War, the set-up still feels very much the same. I keep hoping that the remainder of the books will be somewhat different.

I think Crow is a wonderful man. (I don't care for his past of hooking up with a lot of women though.) His attraction to Shaye is very clear as well as her attraction to him. But I still think it was too much too fast instead of a natural progression. The fact that he is an Native American and she is not was a great aspect of the book to bring out. Interracial courting/marriage was strictly taboo during this time. So it made sense to propel them both back to the future (or our present day) because it's legal now.

Ready for book 8!

I can’t be sure, since I love almost every book in this series, but I think this might be my favorite. I love Shaye and Crowe and the switch up in the story from the other books. Love, friendships, betrayal, and time travel galore. I love that we in this book you get to see some of the family and friends left behind find out the truth and get resolution. Highly recommend and thankful to have received a free copy in exchange for my honest review.
