After twelve years of severe and intense martial arts training, Wind, Cloud and Frost (Conquer's long-time student) begin to reveal their amazing talents; which promoted them in rank to be Conquer's most powerful disciples. Now, a quest begins for all three: Cloud's mission is to track down a trader while Wind and Frost set out to find Mud Buddha; the important key in unlocking the mysteries of Conquer's future. However, other factions desire to capture the Mud Buddha, as well; and this turns out to be one of the strongest tests for the young learners. Have they trained enough to withstand the amazing battles that await them?
Wing-shing Ma (b. 16 January 1961) is a Hong Kong wuxia (Chinese swordplay) manhua (Chinese comic book) artist, writer and publisher. He is best known for writing and illustrating the Fung Wan (Storm Riders) and Chinese Hero series. He also contributed illustrations to the "graphic novel" adaptations of Jin Yong's wuxia novel Heaven Sword & Dragon Sabre and Zhang Yimou's wuxia film Hero (2002)
Wing Shing Ma's artwork, with its fluid depiction of motion, is once again impressive, as are his detailed watercolour style 'extreme closeup' panels, however there's little to Volume 2's story other than a multi-combatant duel for a macguffin. A cool flaming monkey capable of reading one's future macguffin, but still a macguffin...
