Book 3 of the Babylon series.
Guns! Explosions! Monsters! In a cyberpunk future with vampires and werewolves and worse! An omnibus of four novels in the series. I do not know how well they would stand on their own, because they continue the story.
They involve a kidnapping victim held hostage, a desecrated font, intensive training for a group of cops, shooting at a store, misleading werewolves, cyberattacks, and more.
