The relationship between hero and heroine is both wonderful and painful.

The magical blades are too powerful, those who covet them too ruthless, and so the elves add an extra spell ensuring that they would not return to the elves but find one pure of heart to form a true alliance founded on truth and love for the good of all. But still they are powerful, and sought after by every race but the elves.

Thee blades find their way to the human toddler Adianna, whose powerful and uncontrolled magic has led to her being raised and trained by the elves. Then at 18 she assists a young man, Healer Kendrick, assailed by three ogrins — and the prophecy starts to take its unrelenting course.

Adianna's power comes with a painful restriction — touching a human male is agony. So how can there be any hope for her relationship with Kendrick... The blades awakening sends a beacon that all the races see and react to. So how can there be any hope for her as powerful enemies and magics surround her, seeking to take the blades...

This is a well crafted, well paced and well written tale. Generally language and word choice are appropriate and the story will appeal to young people 13 and up.

Despite a couple of awkward word choices and hackneyed scenes, I'm giving this 5 out of 5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for a copy of Bearing the Blades. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Unfortunately, this book didn’t quite do it for me. It definitely has potential, though! I’m interested in where the story goes, but I don’t foresee myself reading any further. I found the pacing of this book to be excruciatingly slow. I felt like I was just waiting and waiting for something to happen. It was a bit tedious. I also didn’t care for the style of prose; some sentences were super old-fashioned and formal, then the next would be more modern.

I just didn’t vibe with the MCs at all. Adianna was a spoiled brat who apparently was smart enough to be the one to save the world, but couldn’t figure out why her husband was upset when she let other men cuddle her and nuzzle her neck. And then God forbid Kendrick doesn’t fall down at her feet, Adianna will throw a tantrum and be oh-so-hurt. Kendrick had a terrible temper and tendency to just jump to conclusions, storm off, and act like a giant baby. The two of them together are toxic, and not cute.

Finally, I would’ve liked a bit more spice. I wish NetGalley gave spice ratings on their arcs.

I loved loved loved this book! Tyger Price does an amazing job of giving enough information to make you immediately fall in love with the characters. I even got a little teary-eyed at one part. Adianna was a young girl when the blades found her. Now she is stuck having to fulfill a future to save her kingdom. One that she never asked for but when she gets older, she knows her place in the world and what she's meant to do with it. One day she happens upon a situation that leaves a young man named Kendrick wounded and in need of help. She carries him all the way home and she and her family proceed to take him in and allow him to heal. Due to a trick from Adianna's family, she and Kendrick are married without his knowledge only to find out once the ceremony is completed. This is a situation neither of them wants but through time and getting to know one another something starts to grow between them. Except there's one catch. He can't touch her because if he does, her skin will burn and blister—the two struggle to find some balance between them and try to find a way to get along. You'll have to read to find out what comes next! Truly one of the best books I've read this year. I might even have to read it again! I highly highly recommend this book! If I could give it 10 stars, I would!

A captivating fantasy romance
If you’re fond of fantasy romance novels, then “Bearing the Blades” is a great option written by Tyger Price. It’s the first book in the series called “Blades of Sheorae”.
The story revolves around Adianna, a female fighter who is preparing herself to fight against a ruthless enemy.
The moment she decides to help a man called Kendrick, her feelings change and her world turns upside down. So, will that encounter mean something to both of them?
This is a story full of surprises, magic, dangers, love and courage. It’s really captivating the way the events are told since you feel immersed in those fantasy places. I liked the way the characters are portrayed. They’re very dynamic and hold very realistic dialogues that allow readers to feel part of the story. All in all, it’s an entertaining, must-read adventure!

It's always great to read a fantasy novel with a touch of romance. Bearing the Blades by Tyger Price is definitely one of the books that hit this category! The story is centered around main characters Adianna and Kendrick who happened to cross paths when Adianna saved him from three ogre-goblins. I love the fantasy aspect of this book especially that it provides such a huge amount of it which definitely satisfies the cravings of fantasy story lovers. The character and romantic development of Adianna and Kendrick are definitely remarkable. I had a bit of trouble connecting to the story in the beginning but as the chapters go, it became better and everything started to make sense. The writing style was great and I'd love to discover more of it in the next installments of this series. Over all, a promising introduction of the series!

I loved it! Seriously, I couldn’t put it down. Memsy drew me into the story by her fear for her sweet little girl. Adianna is such a strong yet compassionate heroine. I loved following her story.

And Kendrick, so hot! But despite his own warrior background, he never seems threatened by Adianna. Instead, he repeatedly marvels and falls for her even more.

The playful banter they share is hilarious. And the sexual tension between them at times is so intense that you feel it on a deep level when they are interrupted. Their adventures kept the pages turning, and it ended leaving me needing the second book.

I am loving the writing from, Tyger Price! Can’t wait for the next one!

The captivating fantasy book "Bearing the Blades" follows the connected lives of Adianna, an 18-year-old sword bearer, and Kendrick, a healer with a tragic history. The narrative, which is set in a country that is sharply divided, focuses on each character's challenges as they balance their personal aspirations with the danger of a vicious foe.
The book's well-balanced pacing keeps the reader interested from beginning to end. Particularly, I felt anxious most of the time, wanting to know what would happen.
The rich and immersive environment is created through the world-building and descriptive details, which improves the reading experience as a whole. The author's work is fluid and captures well the psychological conflict of the characters as well as the dangers they are exposed to.

This enthralling book follows the adventures of Adianna, a teenager who is fighting an internal battle between what her heart really wants and her destiny.
I enjoyed this story for two main reasons: the author’s writing style and the premise of the plot. The vivid descriptions of the setting and conflicts together with the use of imagery provide a gripping backdrop for the main character’s journey.
As the end approaches, readers can observe the protagonist’s evolution, the interesting decisions she made and the obstacles she faced.
The world building creates an unforgettable experience to any kind of reader and let me say that it left me eagerly anticipating the next installment in the series.

Bearing the Blades by Tyger Price is a superb fantasy novel of star-crossed romance and the turmoil of fighting the fate. Adianna and Kendrick are as different as the day and the night, yet they are attracted to each other with intensity unforgiving. Adianna trains vigorously to fight a ruthless enemy and Kendrick is fascinated by her. As the foes hunt them ruthlessly, they must decide to give in to their desires or choose a path unknown. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment that represents their chemistry and relationship. They are fighting for the good and yet it is equally important for them to pursue their love, an enigma and captivating crossroad. The author is excellent with the narration and weaves intense emotions. I highly recommend it.

DNF @ 30% I had to soldier through this read as there were a lot of edits needed and the writing style was inconsistent and threw me off quite a bit where I could not be immersed. The dialogue was really, really poorly structured and stood out from the rest of the book. The book is written in modern standards and the dialogue switches from Olde English to modern within the same chapter.

As I DNF'd early, I can only speak for the beginning of the book. Starting the prologue with a fight scene is really risky. The fight scene, in my head, was really confusing as I was only getting snippets of what/who the narrator was. It was not clear that they were not human until towards the end of the chapter.

Bearing the Blades by author Price is a teen and young adult sword and sorcery tale and it is the first book in the series called Blades of Sheorae.

Completely enchanting, this book takes us on a journey through magic, mystery and a lot of adventure.

As regards the plot, it has been masterfully built. The aspect that stands out the most is the vivid and richly detailed universe the author was able to create.

Characters seem to have been gradually developed and well-rounded, though they look realistic in a lot of different aspects. Both the protagonists and the supporting ones are equally unique. This book is a delightful escape into the realms of imagination.

“Bearing the Blades” is the first book in the Blades of Sheorae series written by Tyger Price. In this book, we meet Adianna, a young woman who is preparing to fight against the most ruthless enemy. Her fight will not be easy and she knows it, but she will still give everything in the battle.
I really enjoyed this fiction, since it has super well detailed and described scenes. The plot is very good and very modern. Moreover, the characters are very complete and at the same time very complex. The transformation they undergo as the book progresses is great. I can't wait to read the next books in the series.

Bearing the Blades is a compelling sci-fi fantasy story with unique and original characters and a strong and fighting protagonist. It is really a very good option to choose when what you are looking for is a good, leisure and entertainment read.
It contains a very interesting plot, very well thought out by its author, Tiger Price, who throughout the story shows that he has great imagination and experience in this type of story.
It is the beginning of a new series that promises to be intense and original, with a couple of protagonists who fight to sustain and unite their land. I quickly decided that I would be on the lookout for a new installment.
I really recommend reading this story.

Bearing the Blades by Tyger Price is a romance fantasy novel following the journey of Adianna, a blade bearer, and Kendrick, a healer. Kendrick volunteers to see Adianna and her mother through the forest - before long they are thrown into a marriage and have the fate of Sheorae in their hands. Kendrick and Adianna have fire and intensity to their interactions. This in addition to their well-written, intriguing pasts are important for a mid-length romance such as this. I can’t wait to get more into Kendrick’s past especially, but love how this book ended on a note of him being both her rogue and protector. Very appropriate romance for older teens.

Bearing the Blades by Tyger Price opens with a gripping battle scene that immediately draws the reader in. Price excels at creating vivid and immersive settings, which makes the fantasy world come alive. The evolving relationship between Adianna and Kendrick is a highlight of the novel, providing a rich, emotional core to the story.

While some scenes felt a bit rushed, the overall narrative and character development are captivating. The writing style and detailed descriptions become particularly engaging once you get past the initial slower sections of the book. Despite a few pacing issues, I’m eagerly anticipating the next installment to see where the story goes from here.

This was a good book. I loved the characters of Adianna and Kendrick. He is the perfect book boyfriend and I love the relationship between them. Especially when they argue and go back and forth with each other;) I usually don't read strong heroine type books but this one worked for me. And the steam is hot! The tension between the two characters is definitely there on the pages of this one folks. I think the writing overall was really good and I can not wait to see where more of her work goes in the next book, and there will be a next book folks!

Bearing the Blades was a great read. My very first from this author. It’s a fantasy read that appealed to me in many ways.

I enjoyed the main plot of the story. And I liked most of the characters. These people who sort of edge the line of good and evil. Honestly most of the characters in this book do bad things, but they also have somewhat good intentions, or they are only doing what they believe is the right thing. I mean there are true bad characters in this story, but it’s difficult at times to weed them out.
This book has lots of twist and turns and plot twists.

Disclaimer: I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I grabbed this ARC as I am an avid fantasy and magic world building fan. Bearing the Blades seemed right up my alley! I attempted to read this one three times as I very rarely DNF a book and respect that all authors have a voice and work incredibly hard at their art. Unfortunately, this one wasn't for me. The premise was interesting but I couldn't get into the story or connect with the characters at all.
