Wuthering Heights is a novel by Emily Bronte published in 1847 under her pseudonym Ellis Bell. Brontes only finished novel, it was written between October 1845 and June 1846. Wuthering Heights and Anne Brontes Agnes Grey were accepted by publisher Thomas Newby before the success of their sister Charlotte's novel Jane Eyre. After Emily's death, Charlotte edited the manuscript of Wuthering Heights and arranged for the edited version to be published as a posthumous second edition in 1850

A story wrapped in metaphors and commentary that push and question societal norms, Wuthering Heights reads like sitting down for tea and getting the neighborhood gossip from a friend. Which fairly accurately describes the narration style.

This book was a JOURNEY. I laughed at Lockwood's audacity, recoiled at the amount of abuse present in the story, and held equal amounts of sympathy and dislike for the characters. I have more questions than I have answers and might eventually do a re-read.
