I received this book free from the author in exchange for and honest review and honestly I LOVED IT!! my only complaint would be that it was to short but that is a good thing. Even though this was short I became very invested in these characters and their unique struggle for survival. This was so full of excitement and heartbreak I was left reeling at the end and I can not wait to get the next ones to find out what happens next so many questions left unanswered I NEED MORE!!! what a great idea for a story and so well written I read it twice just to get the full effect all over again. I dont want to go into to much detail and give anything away so I will just say..you need to go get this book and get reading!!! thank you so much J.M. Zuniga for allowing me the pleasure of this read.

You can also see this on my blog:http://stephsfunwithbooks.blogspot.ca/ if you want a more in depth review!! or if you just want to stop by :)

This book, well short story of 37 pages packs a punch. I don't even know how to describe what I just read. I want want to cry and scream. How can all that have happened in a mere 37 pages. MIND BLOWING!!!! I can't believe that my heart could be broken in so little time. But at the same time so much mystery was built up. I'm begging on my hands and knees to know what happens next.
Thanks you J. M. Zuniga for giving me this opportunity to have my mind blown.

Diamond has been preparing for this moment since they went into hiding. She never expected it to go down like it did. Now stuck in the safe room with nowhere to go, her and Sid must take care on their younger siblings. Things turn bad to worse when they are low on food and someone tries to get in. Will Diamond and Sid pack up the kids and run or will they stay down in the safe room until it's to late.

My only complaint about this book was it was entirely tooooo short. I NEED more!!!!!! I was soo into it by the end and then it just ended. The author sure knows hoe to make you want more. Also I think she should end up with Sid. I mean come on he is any girls dream....well my dreams LOL I can't resist a guy that is tall and has dark hair...YUM I really hope the guy that she thinks she likes he a nice guy if not I will jump into the book and and do something not very nice :D OK on the other matters. Why in the world was going on with her brother. I think there is a mystery evolving around him and I want to find out.

Diamond:I think she was pretty good for a main character, she did what needed to be done and did it. She held her emotions in for the sake of others as well. I think me and her would make fast friends.

Sid: You already know how I feel about him *meow*

Kelvin: Didn't really find out too mush about him, but I could tell he was a very sweet kid.

Mica: Is very mature for her age. She is only five but has so much sense about her. She does get whinny at one point but who wouldn't if you hadn't eaten in three days.

So I will continue with this series b/c it has caught me in it's claws. I can't wait to read The Core. I also can't wait to see what else this author has up her sleeve. :D

Under Ground is the beginning of a great mini-series. It is a completely different and unique story told from the perspective of a seventeen year old girl named Diamond. She along with her little 5 year old brother Kelvin, and two friends Obsidian (Diamond's age), and Mica (Kelvin's age) face being hidden under ground. Read to find out why they are forced to be under ground and the problems they will have to face as I don't want to give spoilers. You will experience different emotions, so be prepared! I loved the book because the characters feel real and I got to experience and feel what they feel. Mica is my favorite character because she is smart for her age but at the same time you can see that she is little by the way she talks at times or the way she acts. At the end you just want to read more. I'm ready for the sequel, are you? If not go get a copy of Under Ground and join Diamond on her journey under ground. You won't want to miss it!

J.M Zuniga has created a great introduction to her mini-series that successfully establishes Diamond's character and sets a tone of mystery and action.

Diamond is an interesting character who is very easy to like and follow. Her reactions are deeply human and therefore believable which is something that I really enjoyed in this short. The mystery surrounding the events that led up to and are still unraveling around Diamond's current situation are effectively described and created. J.M Zuniga holds back enough so that the reader is let with questions, yet answers enough so that we aren't completely frustrated.

The emotive detail in this short is very beautifully created. The writing is fluid and easy to enjoy and follow. Under ground is an ideal read for YA and adult readers who are looking for a short read, but a read that still has succinct detail and depth. Very enjoyable.

REVIEW:

This story was tenderly written. It made me feel for the main characters. I started reading this thinking its not going to be something I like, because the genre was not what I'm use to. I changed my mind after two page, the story took off from the first page I couldn't put it down. Even though they knew what was going on with their parents they kept strong for their siblings. I enjoyed the story a lot. I just wish it was longer. Make a novel?!?

Great start of the mini series! The story was very interesting and fantastic. It is about four children named Diamond, Obsidian, Mica, and Kelvin and how their life was turned upside down. Diamond and Obsidian have been friends since they were kids, and their siblings and parents are best friends as well. Diamond and Obsidian's (Sid) parents all work at the geological institute and have bulit a stucture under-ground in case of emergenices. They went through drills to prepare if they ever had to stay in the shelter, but nothing prepared them when their parents left them there, alone. Now trying to survive Diamond and Sid must take care of their siblings and make sure they are safe and hidden. This was a great read and I really enjoyed it.

Breathtaking, spell binding adventure
Under Ground

I was giving this short story for my honest review. Although short this story took me on a joinery A journey of love, pain and sorrow From the first page I could not put it down. I read it non stop until I finished I did not know it was a short story until it ended. This story stole my breath I was sitting on the very edge about to fall over. I have never seen so much power in so little space the author really out did herself on this story. And the ending will make you want to throw the book but instead do as I did and reach for The Core book two. This is a wonderful story Rebecca Mills
With a great cliff hanger.

I really liked this book. It is a quick read but packed full of excitement. I must admit that I cried during a heart breaking scene. J.M did such a wonderful job on this that I can't wait to start The Core. I'm just hoping that there is a back story to bring me up to the "current situation" Diamond and Sid are in. Kudos on a great read!

This book was amazing! Yes it is a very short story, but it leaves you aching for the rest in the mini-series! Even in the short span of this book you get involved and have so many questions. I'm looking forward to the rest. Now off to read them! lol

This mini series was choc-a-block full of dystopia, suspense (boy oh boy, the suspense!), heartbreak, friendship & even a smackering of romance.

The characters were easy to love, and the villains, of course, easy to despise.

Each book was short, but full of action and not a dull moment. There was times I was holding my breath wondering what punches Ms Zuniga was going to pull next.

I read the 3 in a matter of a couple of hours because I couldn't put it down. It held my attention the whole way through & I couldn't wait to see what would happen next.

Anxiously waiting for more Diamond, Sid, Mica, Gypsum, Azure & Rhyo! Will keep keeping watch for more in the series.

Recommended to everyone that loves a good YA novel full of everything there is to love about the genre. For all ages, a very clean, engrossing, and well written mini series...Well done Ms Zuniga!

Luckily I bought the TDMS collection and was able to read all three back to back. This is a unique read about best friends Diamond and Sid. They are raised with drills and lockdowns, never expecting them to be real, however this one is.

This story jumps into action quickly and leaves you wondering what the hell happened. Very well written, if a little short.
