In the world of the Blood-rights, there are three rules. Never let anyone fight alone, be careful with your words, and mean what you say.
Blood is sacred, vows are honored, and love bites… twice.
Cian Wren Di Gatti has waited three lifetimes to meet his mate. A blood bond formed five hundred years before comes full circle when he takes over his duties as Lord Ventus-for the third time.
Now, he has the chance to do it all again with his chosen mate, in a new life, with a new name that has already been tainted by the Witches’ curse.
Family ties are tested, and sacrifices are made in hopes of a beautiful future. But will one man’s folly tear them apart forever, or can they make it work the second time around?
This is fantasy, with a large cast of characters. Please read the Fire Ridge Pride series first. None of the books in the two series are standalones.
This is definitely a series and a universe that needs to be read in order but it is totally worth it. These have all been exciting and intriguing stories. Each one answers some questions but then raises others. I can't wait to read more.
I love Cian! Still wanna know what he planned to do with the chair. Loved the interaction with the brothers. And Pearl? She is hilarious! Spicy, sexy, and the plottwist? Amazing! Cannot wait for the next one.
This is my first book by this author and I think I made a mistake, I probably should read the rest of the books in the series first. This was good but I didn't know what was really going on, but I will be reading the rest post haste.
Love may just come around for him again as he takes the title for the third time. He has waited so long to find them again. He will do anything to make sure he gets his happy ending this time. Will he get it? How will other react to it all? See just how it will go this time around
Do read books in order to have a full understanding of characters and the battle we see more treachery come out of the woodwork for these two who are trying to build something
This is book 2 in the Blood-rights series. This book is written in a style that's a bit different from the rest of the series... This book is written from one person's POV and I loved it. I wasn't sure I was going to, since most books are told from both MC's perspectives, I should have known Jae wouldn't let me/us down.
As always, if you have been following my reviews, you know I always reread the last book in the series before starting the newest book. It's a nice refresher for me and I always find something that I missed in the first read.
Oh the machinations of those who were supposed to love, support, and protect Lou. Now all the Lou haters can breathe a sigh of relief. Jae has intricate plans for each of her characters and only she knows how it's all going to end. Just hang on tight, you know it will be a bumpy ride that will be totally worth it!!!
⚠️WARNING LABEL - If you haven't read all the books in Jae's Fire Ridge Pride series then go no further, this book will be meaningless if read out of order.
I love how the 2 series are tied together. All the little things in FRP come together in this one. One line from Lou now makes perfect sense. Seeing things from FRP in a different perspective really makes the plot carried from on book to the next so much more interesting! I had several aha! moments, and laughed so much over Pearl! She has a way of making so much sense. I love Cian. He's sexy, stands up for himself, and doesn't let his mate get away with foolish mess. I had to fan myself a few times too. Definitely steamy with just the right amount of spice. Jae captures that real quality with the romance and I just adore that. Cannot wait to see what happens next!
I love the way this book takes us into the Fire Ridge Pride series universe, fills in some gaps, gives us new information and is filled with schemes and machinations that affect our two main characters and the world as a whole. If you want a fully developed world where the author has carefully thought through how characters and situations connect, start with the FRP series and continue on into the Blood-rights books. I cannot wait to see how things continue. Note: I am a huge fan of just jumping into series where ever the spirit moves me and 99/100 I don't regret it. This book is not one of those. You really do need to have read the preceding books before coming here.
‘Magic was a tricky mistress. From the vein, stake a claim. From the glass, it’s a pass.’
In book two of Jae Greyn’s Blood-rights series, we continue to follow the painful growth of god-blooded Cian/Wren and King Lou’s intricate relationship.
Bite Twice digs deeper into hidden, and not-so-hidden, trouble between the gods and the shifters. Siblings and those related to our main characters are unearthing treachery that makes it hard to choose who to trust. A kingdom is up for grabs and those who are manipulating these characters can quickly find themselves ashed.
Jae clearly shares some cautionary words for readers to make them aware of issues they may come across in the book. Readers should also understand that Jae writes in a unique and eclectic form that will have you carefully rereading to capture the fullest meaning of phrases, both said and implied, by these strong individuals.
You may have to work a bit to grasp all of the nuances of this story, but it is absolutely worth every moment, as Bite Twice both allows us to see some aspects of this story in a much clearer fashion, and it moves us further into the territories that are clashing.
