**NOTE TO READERS - THE MISSING CHAPTERS ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED**
Some say the best gift in life is being given a second chance. U.S. Navy SEAL Tripp “Bear” Walker wasn’t sure he agreed with that statement until his past came crashing back into his life. After dealing with regret for the past ten years, Bear realizes that he’s been given a rare opportunity to win back the heart of his childhood best friend and the woman he’s never stopped loving when it’s revealed the divorce he once thought was finalized, really wasn’t.
Jocelyn Thompson knew she couldn’t hide from her past forever. Ten years ago, after signing divorce papers, she had put all her memories of Tripp Walker into a vault, threw away the key, and built a solid wall around her broken heart. But when she walks into a party and comes face-to-face with the man she swore she would never speak to again, Jocelyn finds that keeping her distance from the rugged, handsome, gray-eyed Navy SEAL is more challenging than she thought.
But when she’s recruited by the First Lady of the United States to head up her global clean water initiative, Jocelyn doesn’t think twice before accepting the position—even if the assignment sends her to one of Africa’s most dangerous countries. What she hadn’t expected was to find out that the one man she was trying to run from was the lead individual of the security detail assigned to her and her team.
No matter how hard she tries to keep their relationship strictly professional while on the assignment, Jocelyn finds herself slowly giving in. One night, when Bear manages to get her alone and opens up about the past and expresses his feelings for her, Jocelyn sees the vault she has fought so hard to keep secured begin to pry itself open.
However, just when it appears things could be heading in the right direction between the pair, a stranger suddenly appears and sets his sights on Jocelyn and is willing to do whatever it takes to make Jocelyn his.
Bear’s priority is keeping Jocelyn safe from the danger lurking in the shadows. But when he’s faced with making a critical decision, he quickly realizes he should’ve listened to his gut because he may have lost Jocelyn for good.
Jaime Lewis, a USA TODAY bestselling author, entered the indie author world in June, 2020, with ACE, the first book in the Trident Series.
Coming from a military family she describes as very patriotic, it’s no surprise that her books are known for their accurate portrayal of life in the service.
Passionate in her support of the military, veterans and first responders, Jaime volunteers with the Daytona Division of the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps, a non-profit youth leadership development program sponsored by the U.S. Navy. Together with her son, she also manages a charity organization that supports military personnel and their families, along with veterans and first responders.
Born and raised in Edgewater, Maryland, Jaime now resides in Ormond Beach, Florida with her husband and two very active boys.
Between her day job, her two boys and writing, she doesn’t have a heap of spare time, but if she does you’ll find her somewhere in the outdoors. Jaime is also an avid sports fan.
This writer is very talented and the book had a good plot. However, there was a lot of typos, weird sentence structure, and bad editing that got progressively worse as the book went on. It was very distracting.
This is book two in The Trident ll - Bravo Team Series and it is Bear and Jocelyn’s story and omg it is definitely a must read. Bear and Jocelyn have history as they were best friends, in love and married in secret and then divorced which is something that they both regret and now ten years later they see each other again only to realise that their divorce was not actually finalised. When Jocelyn was chosen by Lana who is the First Lady of the United States and also a friend asks her to head up the global clean water initiative in Lake Chad which is in Africa Jocelyn was a little bit worried about her safety because of the violent situation there but she was also excited to be given the chance and told that she would have around the clock protection it put her mind at ease and she was definitely up for the challenge and would also help her career and show that she had what it takes to do this type of job. Bear had never stopped loving or thinking about Jocelyn and he regretted the decision that he made and had missed her every single day and now he hopes that he can convince her to give him a second chance this time around as he realised that he had given up the most important person in his life and now he was glad that him and his team would be the ones protecting her and hopefully give them a chance to talk and also spend some time together. Wow this book takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions along with twists and turns, ups and downs, danger, kidnapping, betrayal, secrets, drama, suspense, hope, love and situations that will have you on the edge of your seat and turning the pages to see what would happen next and what the outcome and future would be for Bear and Jocelyn who have a strong and unique love that has stood the test of time and they truly are soulmates. I couldn’t put this book down and read it in one sitting and the storyline completely pulled you in and kept your attention throughout because it was so well written and totally addictive and I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series. Jaime Lewis is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her readers engaged in her story and I definitely recommend that you read this book and others books by her and you will not be disappointed.
This is another action packed romance by Jaime Lewis that combines intrigue, adventure with misunderstandings that have to solved before a HEA. Great stuff. This is the second book in the series and involved Clover's, from the first book, brother Bear who is BRAVO's team leader. Jocelyn had always been part of his life from being a child. As they got older their feelings changed but then life got in the way. The story starts in the USA then moves to Africa before finishing back in America. I'm not posting any spoilers but if you like this genre it's a great story with strong characters and really well written although I did see a couple of editing errors e.g. you're instead of your. I loved it and can't wait for the next.
So we have waited a really long time for this one and sadly I was disappointed in the result. The story line was good - I enjoyed the second chance romance aspect very much. Bear and Jocelyn were great characters, I liked them very much. I had two problems with this one - first the editing was awful. Lines were repeated in print, punctuation was missing, words were missing in sentences, phrases weren’t written properly. It made for a tough read. Secondly, there was no spice to this one at all. Unless my copy was missing those page’s specifically, which I doubt since there was continuity throughout, I was left wanting at the end of this book.
I LOVED this book, it was very much worth the wait. The way the characters interact is awesome and all their personalities is so well defined that as a reader you become completely invested. And if you haven't read the first Trident series (Alpha team starts with Ace) I recommend reading those stories before reading the second Trident series (Bravo team starting with Joker). I'm very much looking forward to reading the rest of the Trident Bravo Team as they're released!! Jamie Lewis rocks!! What an excellent writer.
Bear and Jocelyn’s story has all the emotions you could want in a story. Bear finds out his divorce papers were never filed with the court so he is still married to Jocelyn who he still loves. Jocelyn’s job takes her to Africa to help dig a well so the villagers will have clean water. Of course someone does not want that to happen so trouble exists. Won’t say any more cuz I don’t want to ruin it but I highly suggest you read this story ( heck the whole series starting with Alpha team and continuing with Beavo team you won’t be disappointed.
The characters are strong, the plot line has interesting twists and turns. The villain is ridiculously villainous although the sub characters actually have some meat to them. A jolly good story however is spoiled by extremely poor grammar, incorrect words, some paragraphs and chapters of overblown prose, in short, very poor editing. Pretty much every second sentence after the first chapter. Please can someone rescue this series with significantly improved editing🙏🏼
I love how Jaime’s stories take us around the world and we visit different cultures. Bear and Jocelyn have loved each other most of their lives but separated after traumatic events in their early twenties. Finally they get a chance to reunite when Bear and his team are guarding Jocelyn whilst she’s working in Chad. The situation becomes quite complicated but Bravo team with the help of Alpha team come through.
What an incredible roller coaster of a ride this novel about Bear and Jocelyn turned out to be. Both had a traumatic time of being separated for 10 years, but through it all had continued to love each other. It was an emotional getting together for them for their second chance at their happily ever after.
I love this series. Alpha team was awesome and Bravo team under Bears command is just as awesome I want to jump in the book and live with them all Suspense and lots of love the 2 main characters Bear and Joce were married then thought divorced but found out they were not can they find themselves back together. Read it and you’ll fall in love with them and the team
Great story. The description said the missing chapters had been fixed, but it's not. Chapters 22-27 are missing, which is extremely disappointing as you miss what happened and how Jocelyn got hurt and arrived back in the US without Bear, although he met her plane. Don't know if ill buy the next book or not because of this.
Thank you Jaime..loved this book,completely..love your imagination, girl.cant wait for Duke's book..Full od adventure and love...way to go...Everyone will enjoy this read
I absolutely love this book. It was differently worth the wait. I don't want to reveal to much for those that have not read it yet. I just wish I could give it mire than 5 stars. Can't wait for Duke's book.
I love your books Ms. Lewis. But please, please get some better editors. There were so many missing words and added or misplaced words in this book series. I don't remember the first series being this bad.
At the end of Jokers book we discovered that Bear and Jocelyn were still technically married. Book 2 is their story. It’s a really great read. The tension between the hurt Jocelyn feels and yet the undeniable pull towards Bear is beautiful written. I loved it and it was well worth the wait.
