I gave this book four stars, mostly because it was exactly the pep talk I was looking for, not because it was particularly profound. Most of us know what we need to do, but it helps to have a "task-master" help one focus on the essentials and get started (or re-started) living with only the necessities. This book is short, to-the-point, and filled with lots of funny quotes to help get one motivated to streamline one's life.

This small book is packed full with helpful organizational and decluttering tips. A bit dated because it talks about filing and mail which has changed a lot but still can be relayed to email and electronic filing. Highly recommend.

I've been known to accumulate books about getting organized and decluttering. When I finally decluttered THEM, I kept this one. It's a good all-purpose guide. I especially like the section on "systems". They keep me from always reinventing the wheel.

Going through old books on my bookshelf. I’m a streamliner by nature. My brain automatically searches for a faster way to do everything. This book includes advice about all aspects of life and how to get everything in order so that you can enjoy your life. That’s the goal, right? So many people could use this book these days. In the US, we live in a world of excess and we own so many things. There’s a reason the storage industry is now a billion dollar industry. We need fewer things and we need to have those things organized so that we don’t spend all of our time taking care of those things. This seems to have become the essence of all generations alive today. Good read.

Short (and to the point) instructions on ways to declutter and organize your life. If you're already in the streamlining mood, this will probably help you and give you some ideas, but otherwise don't count on it to change your thinking about clutter.

Practical, no-nonsense, if a bit dated (circa 1991) advice.
