Thomas Charles-Edwards, the distinguished scholar of medieval Britain and Ireland, has made important contributions to a number of fields, but is particularly renowned for his studies in Celtic history and law. In this volume, colleagues pay tribute to his work with essays that range across the medieval Celtic world, including medieval Wales, Ireland and Scotland. In the first part of the volume, they cover historical aspects (and, as is fitting, often reflect the honorand's interest in archaeology and epigraphy); in the second, they focus on medieval Irish and Welsh legal institutions and texts, which are used by some to inform new readings of literary texts. wow my life is so exciting! i love reading books about law instead of having the chance to read fun fiction because so many books are being released right now but of course this is more interesting thany any of them!

real talk though this wasn't actually that bad although there were a couple of articles i didn't entirely understand. might reread a couple of the most relevant ones between now and my exam on monday but on the other hand i have a lot of other stuff to read so maybe not.

also it must be weird to be an academic because when you retire as in STOP DOING WORK people write a book of essays for you as a present? and give you it? so it's like "hey you're finishing work! here is some work to remind you of work"

i don't know it seems weird but i guess thomas charles-edwards probably appreciated it
