In 1874 tiny Emily makes her appearance in the world. She is the foundation of the Roberts family and often times the bread winner. Her life is lengthy and she uses it wisely, not necessarily the path her family will follow. Emily is an exceptional listener and a friend to everyone.
Yet Another Fallen Star spans 135 years, telling the story of Emily, her children, her grandchildren, and their extended family. Against a backdrop of rapid social change, we see their strengths and weaknesses, challenges and choices, with serious and humorous consequences.
Yet Another Fallen Star is JoAnn Hill’s first book, an enjoyable labor of love. JoAnn has recently published her second novel, "I'm Just the Key-Board Guy," So fun to write!

I won this book on goodreads first reads. The author wrote a personalized message that was nice to read. This is a good story that starts in 1874, you get to know Emily and her family as they travel through the years. I love this time period although it was obviously very hard then there is something about that time that always draws me in to read a book from that time period. I would recommend this book.
My book is a historical novel, that spans 135 years. It's the story of a family, how they react with each other, how they accept new members as they come along, if they do. The characters are as varied in personalities as the various terrain they cover.
YET ANOTHER FALLEN STAR by JoAnn Hill, was a book I won in a GoodReads give away. I really enjoyed the story of Emily and her very real family. These characters and their lives were so believable to me. They had joy, conflicts, arguements, disagreements, love, sadness, hopes that didn't work out. They had the whole stream of living that is in society and dealt with all of it in such a way that they could have been the neighbors down the street. My favorite character was Jewel. She was such a strong personality from her childhood. She knew what she wanted and went for it; even though it didn't always work out the way she hoped and she wasn't always happy with the results. Following the family for 135 years was a good way to go into each character's personality and for MS. Hill to give the readers a chance to really get to know each one. I highly recommend this book to any one who likes a good family story and the opportunity to delve deeply into each of the different characters. I also appreciated the personalized message from the author.
I can read a book, even a long one, in a week, but in the case of JoAnn L. Hill’s Yet Another Fallen Star, I didn’t want to. This ebook was like an old friend, ready to accompany me over an open fire, or raising me up when I was low. I found myself not wanting it to end. It is the story of The Far West, USA, over a hundred and some odd years through the eyes of a sympathetic, poetic chronicler laying open the lives of the Robert’s family. Be not cajoled, my friends. Yet Another Falling Star is an unembellished tale that details earthquakes, failed marriages, and the attack on Pearl Harbor. And yet, the light of love and family loyalty shines through. As the chronicler writes, “No one ever died in Vince’s world. They kicked the bucket, cashed it in, or bit the dust.”
