Journalist and Washington insider James O'Shea tells the amazing story of BigBad Don Dixon, who took over a small, well-managed Texas Savings and Loan andturned it into a billion dollar boondoggle.
Great contemporary account of the the US savings and loan crisis spawned by 1980s political corruption. O'Shea prophetically notes that unleashing Wall Street mortgages would eventually lead to another disaster. Also noted, that attention shifted from the scandal after the invasion of Kuwait. Good book.
