An excellent resource for students of all ages!

I started reading this little book after completing my first year at Masters level. After some tutor feedback on the need to improve forming arguments, I discovered this book and found it very informative.

Good summary

A good summary of the methods for critical thinking in essays or a dissertation. Particularly around looking at other papers.

Not in-depth but useful

There were some useful points that I took away from this short read that will improve my critical thinking. However overall lacking in depth

Amazing guide to writing assignments. Helped me understand my problems and fix them. Reading this made me realize I made a lot of baseless claims in my papers. Great book would definitely recommend.

Better on second reading

Maybe I wasn't in the right mindset when I read this book for the first time, but on the second reading, it was much more interesting.

Critical thinking and the techniques that help the student achieve it are explained clearly. However, this book is not only useful for those who are still at school. Anyone who needs to work with facts and write reports or argue based on those facts will find this book of great value.

Very helpful little read

At 50 years of age I embarked on completing a master's degree. Got very confused what the degree would entail. Understanding academic terms until I read this book. Now, my fears have been dealt with and questions answered. Good explanations, no rubbish just straight forward good academic advice.

A very short, and to some extent superficial introduction to the subject aimed at college students.
