4 stars. Chapters 12 and 14 were absolutely 5 stars and worth the price of the book between the two of them. Reformation in preaching and the need for preaching workshops and development. So needed. Other essays were a bit hit or miss.
Like any collection of essays, there will be some chapters that hit and some that miss. Pretty decent collection of essays on expository preaching with some really good chapters that make it worth the read.
This is the best Festschrift I've ever read: unlike most Festschriften, the contributions are uniformly excellent. It's also just about the best book on preaching I've ever read. Highly recommended!
An excellent work with a variety of scholars writing on different topics concerning expository preaching. It is interesting how people define expository preaching. A good encouragement to stay with the task! Mine is the hardback edition.
