The last word on espresso, covering its culture and history plus everything about selecting beans and equipment and making and drinking this beloved brew.
I bought a lot of coffee books when I started working at Starbuck's, and I learned at least a little from each of them. This was actually a pretty good overview of the whole coffee experience. I gave it two stars instead of one just because it had a pretty good step-by-step guide for building a cafe latte; and gave me the idea of frothing the milk FIRST so it didn't make the final beverage cold.
This book is almost an academic survey of the ins-and-outs of espresso. This book is not a coffee table book (groan) nor is it an explicit manual. If you are interest in espresso, then it is well worth readying.
